Hi guys, what would be the simplest way to upgrade to Sierra? Just download it and install it? Would that keep the custom kexts, etc? Thanks!

Hi guys, I am looking for the EmuVariable migration process so I can remove the EmuVariableUefi-64.efi driver. I think it was on the main post at some point but I cannot find it anymore. Would someone please post the process? Thanks!

Hi guys- A couple of questions: 1. Any issues updating to 10.11.2? 2. I have noticed that with the latest couple of packs, sometimes when I do a shutdown, the system reboots automatically. Anyone experiencing this? Any ideas why? Thanks, AJ

@tluck- Well, I don't have an APPLE folder under /Volumes/ESP/EFI. Should I? Link you sent me says it's for Mid 2013 models, but in my "About this Mac" screen, it shows I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro. Is this what it should be? Yes, it shows on the app store updates list. I have installed the update several times but it doesn't seem to go anywhere... Thanks, AJ

Hi guys- I have this EFI Firmware update I can't seem to be able to get rid off: MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.7. I have tried to install it and to hide update, but it is still there. Do you guys have it? Thanks, AJ

I upgraded directly from the App Store and all worked okay. The install process created a new temporary entry in the Clover boot screen named something like "Install OS X" on my system drive. I booted from there and it continued with the setup process. After the install, it rebooted again and the temporary entry was gone so I booted normally... All seems to work fine, just the Display overrides were replaced...

Hi tluck- So, do we need to create an installer USB or just running it off the app store works fine? Thanks, AJ

Thanks tluck, I was able to finally get iMessage/Facetime to work. I followed the iMessage posting you mentioned, Step-5d, specifically following the excerpt below. After entering the values for ROM and MLB as described there, and making sure it was not changing between reboots, I got the contacting oracle support message (described in Step-8). I called apple with the code provided in the message and they unlocked my imessage without problems. ****************************** The official (new) method of injecting/specifying the ROM & MLB values for Clover is as follows: ROM: This will now be read from the last 6 bytes of the 'SmUUID' field. If you have nothing in the SmUUID field then Clover will try to use your BIOS's SystemId (see Part-2 of the guide) however, I personally think it's always best to override The BIOS (even if it does not suffer from the SId bug) and to use the terminal command 'uuidgen' to generate a new random value (See Part-2, Step 7, Path-C). Enter the generated UUID as the SmUUID value on the SMBIOS page. If this is a new OSX Install then you can leave it like that. If you want to keep you old ROM value then replace the last 6 bytes of SmUUID with the ROM value you were using before which is normally the MAC address of an ethernet port (usually en0). Note: It is important to understand that configuring Clover like this will cause your existing Hardware (Platform) UUID to change (if it's an existing install). Whilst this in-it's-self is not a problem it will change the identity of your system from your previous install which in-turn may cause some user profile settings to be changed due to the Hardware (Platform) UUID being used as a key value for storing critical OSX configuration against. MLB: This is now read from the 'Board Serial Number' field on the SMBIOS page, on a clean Clover install this is defaulted to Clovers own set value which is now black-listed on Apples systems. You therefore must replace this with your existing MLB value (on an existing install) or use your OSX S/N + Random Alpha / Numeric digits to make it up to 17 digits. ******************************

Thanks a lot tluck. Some issues seem better now, even without using a usb stick for booting. Sleep/wake goes better, no freeze with mute button, ... let's see as I keep using it, but looks much better. I'm not sure if it is related to the update, the new kexts or the new Clover version...

Hello- Anybody updated to 10.9.1? Any issues or any advice before I do it? Thanks, AJ

@tluck- I installed latest pack and used your suggestion about MBR USB, and the sleep is much better (perfect so far). The mute problem was resolved with the latest pack, even without MBR USB boot. Why would this make a difference, booting from an USB? It is loading the same Clover and configuration, right?

Thank you guys. I have deleted the .IABootfiles and the "Install Mavericks from..." is no longer there, good. And for the recovery partition, it is actually there. The problem is that it doesn't boot, it complains about the AppleHDA kext. I'm trying to install the modified kexts to the BaseSystem.dmg that is in the recovery partition to see if I can boot from it. It would be useful in case of problems. I used the following command from terminal to enable debug mode in Disk Utility and view/mount hidden partitions from the debug menu: defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility advanced-image-options -bool true Once mounted, I have converted the read-only .dmg into a read-write, applied the custom kexts using Kext Wizard, then converted .dmg into a compressed .dmg, and replaced the BaseSystem.dmg into the Recovery Partition. It almost boots now... still looking at it...

Lenovo ThinkPad T420 with UEFI Only

Hi guys, Clover question: While upgrading to the latest gm of Mavericks, I downloaded the Mavericks upgrade app from the App Store and tried to run it directly. This made the computer restart and a new Clover boot option showed up, something like "Install Mavericks from Mac SSD". I upgraded properly later on, by creating an install USB following tluck's guide, so the upgrade went okay. The issue is that the entry to Install it is still there, also there is another one to boot from recovery partition. How do I get rid of this new entry? Where are these entries stored? Thanks, AJ

@tluck- I'm creating the USB for the final Mavericks release using your latest guide on post #486, but the USB doesn't seem to be bootable... Am I missing something? Thanks, aj
