  1. Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R Bios modded for newer AHCI-1.20E

Thanks teknojunkie! I added a SLIC to the new AHCI bios and everything works great
  2. Gujal, you are awesome Thanks for updating the kexts. Now I can use it with my EP45-DS3R. Thanks alot
  3. 10.5.5 update?

Just checked apple's update section, no 10.5.5 BTW what's the changelog?
  4. 9800GT Almost working... Help needed

I bought an EVGA 9800gt, I can confirm it works OOTB with iDeneb v1.1 (with the Nvidia 512mb driver)
  5. External Sound Card Recommendation

  6. Thanks, I now have regular drive icons (although I liked that orange color instead . Note to all users, you must have a password on your account to do this. If you do not, you will go anywhere. I have a P5K Premium (ICH9R) with Kalyway 10.5.2 with the 10.5.3 update
  7. Prune inactive accounts

Yes, you should remove those without any posts. As for per year, remove them if there is less than 15 posts. For those users who have not validated, they should be deleted after 1 month (only takes 30 seconds to validate ) That's a bit more reasonable for those who are busy or would like to download the files but do not have much experience to contribute to this great site.
  8. Asus P5k Pro Leo4all

I tried vanilla kernel once, didn't boot. I stuck to Modbin 9.22 kernel. On the combo update, I used Modbin 9.3 kernel. I tried updating to 10.5.4 because every time I rebooted, I would have to use "update -v" at the Darwin prompt. Also, it automatically reinstalled ToH 9.2 kernel. I tried using OSX86 tools to install Modbin 9.4 kernel, but the system didn't boot (I already updated the system.kext thing) I left the default drivers for network too.
  9. Asus P5k Pro Leo4all

Hi, I have a P5K Premium - Marvell Yukon 88E8056 (same Ethernet controller as you ). Works out of the box with Kalyway 10.5.2. Use that instead. Sorry I don't have any better solution
  10. E8400 vs overclocked Q6600

That Q6600 would produce about 1.3 ~ 1.5x the heat of the e8400 @ stock spead(45nm has less leakage = heat). You can overclock that e8400 to 4ghz quite easily). It is impossible to go passive with a quad. You might get lucky with a low end dual core (e2160). A Q6600 @ 3ghz would produce about 65 @ load. A e8400 @ 3.6ghz is 57C @ load (both with a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a Sythe S-flex fan)
  11. Is torrent seeding illegal?

Well they send that if you live in the USA (or any other copyright abiding country but mostly on USA). It depends on your ISP if they decide to send the letter to you. Yes you can go to jail. Likelihood? Very slim (due to lack of evidence, etc.). Look at those filesharers that went to court. Majority won. If you have a business on the other hand, that is a whole different story Movies (especially aXXo and more recently klaXXon) + Music (torrent/ and especially limewire) = slightly higher % chance of being caught.
  12. can't boot kalyway 10.5.4 without "update -v"

I did a reformat. That also fixed those annoying popups about PCGENUSBEHCI thing. I didn't install that on the next pass, but usb is still working very nicely
  13. Ok, I have made an updated version with some spelling fixes and quotation fixes
  14. Is torrent seeding illegal?

Only if you are seeding illegal content (ex. OSX86). You can be found (MPAA and RIAA have bots that check out their peers ip. They send automated threats to your ISP). Enabling encryption is recommended. Stealing Starbucks wifi is even safer . Most of the bots are on movies torrents (especially aXXo) and music torrents. They generally don't bother with linux though (it's not illegal ). Peer guardian is a recommendation, but it blocks alot of legitimate ip addresses also Cheers
  15. updated 10.5.4 software update, but still 9.3.0?

when i updated, OSX86 tools said I went back to ToH 9.2 kernel
