  1. I agree @wyre... I worked with RampageDev on this a bit - tried a different SSDT... Even though I was unable to find any controller that matched the Toxic R9 280X which is DP, DP, HDMI, DDVI, SDVI I tried changing the framebuffer coding in AMDController... I wound up RMAing the card - and, getting a GTX 760... maybe not as good as the R9 280X - but, worked right out of the box using the CUDA core drivers found on NVIDIA's website... ...
  2. @BafS - did you figure out your dual monitors...?

    Need help with Mavericks install

    Any luck on your build...? ...
  4. One of the strangest things - is the inability to boot with either of the mini Display Ports plugged in... I am using "active adapters"... If I use a "passive adapter" - OSX boots fine - but, still only enables (2) displays... ...
  5. That will probably solve your issue... HDMI or DP... Some cards share the same "pipes" between their Single and Dual DVI connections...
  6. @BafS - what connections are you using...?
  7. I am running: Intel 4930k ASUS Rampage IV Extreme 32Gb DDR 2400 Sapphire Toxic R9 280X 512Gb Evo Pro Mavericks 10.9.1 works great... Using SSDT and mach_kernel from Rampage Dev... I am running a triple boot system with OSX, Linux, and Windows... (3) monitors work without issues in Linux and Windows - however, I cannot get (3) monitors to work in OSX no matter how I connect them (whether using display port, or HDMI, or DVI - and, any combination thereof) Interesting that there does not seem to be a 'profile' for this card... DP, DP, HDMI, DDVI, SDVI - Default is Futomaki which only has (4) ports (only '1' DVI)... I have tried all profiles as well as AtiPorts=X (where X = either 3,4,5,6) Any help would be greatly appreciated... ...
  8. I was having a tough time getting mavericks installed on my old AMD system - so, I purchased a new system... ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Intel 4930k Sapphire Toxic R9 280x 32Gb RAM 512Gb EVO Pro SSD ... I thought I was pretty careful while choosing the components to get ones for an easy vanilla install... However - my install fails after a few seconds resulting in a blank/black screen - and, keyboard locked up... I am using: -v -f cpus=1 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=yes npci=0x2000 ... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... ... [sOLVED] Seems the vanilla kernel (from the 10.9.1 Install DMG) was not cooperating... I used the mach_kernel included in the DSDT package for my MB from the Rampage Dev site... ...

    Marvell Yukon 8059 Gigabit Ethernet

    Shane... Something just isn't right with this setup I have... Crosshair IV Formula / Phenom X6 1100T... my LAN is recognized using your IONetworkingFamily.kext... I also tried editing /IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleYukon2.kext/Contents/Info.plist changing the 8056 section to correspond with my 8059 ID => 0x438111ab The LAN is showing up in networking - but, it says "ethernet cable unplugged"... I have tried multiple things - adding a new "location" - removing the interface - rebooting - then adding back in... I have tried other patches - SKGE.kext - I have tried removed npci=0x3000 - I have tried npci=0x2000, etc... I have purchased (2) additional PCI and PCIe NIC cards... I have the newest firmware for the MB... (rev 3029) All come back to "ethernet cable unplugged"... Linux has no issues with the NIC card and Windows has no issues with the NIC card... OSX just does not recognize that the cable actually is plugged in and does indeed work... heh... Any further suggestions before I breakdown and upgrade my box...? ...

    Mavericks && ATI 6990

    @theconnactic - no worries... Getting OSX working on AMD has saved me (at this point) from purchasing a new Intel box... NetKas as some interesting possibilities that I will try over the next couple of days... I will post back if I get things working... Of course, a new card might save my head from all of the pounding during the process... heh... @shanee - I will try some different combinations... ...

    My apologies... I either did not read your answer in the other thread - or, misinterpreted it as not final... It certainly is not my intent to waste your time... ...

    Mavericks && ATI 6990

    Hello... Have 10.9 installed using Bronya's rc7 kernel... Phenom 1100T w/ ATI 6990 I have tried adding my deviceID (0x671D1002) to AMD6000Controller.kext in /S/L/E - it does change the behavior of the boot => creating one screen white and freezing the computer when loading the graphics drivers and such - but, I have been unable to login once adding this deviceID... Followed a posting found here => ATI 6990 ... I have tried adding the deviceID after booting into Mavericks - then using kext wizard to load the kext - but, no luck there either... Any help would be greatly appreciated... ...
