  1. I didnt bother with adding the audio devid anywhere. i think from what ive read it can work?, but i didnt need it. im using a hdmi to dvi cable anyhow to drive two lg 23" lcd's if your worried about trying it just make a copy of your com.apple.boot.plist, make it like com.apple.boot.plist.old or something, and then if the new string doesnt work, you can just reboot in single user and move it back. i tried that a good 20-30 times Good luck!
  2. Hey i was in the same boat. Ive got the galaxy g210 512mb (dvi + hdmi + vga) I was at a complete loss to get it working. But i got it going, running two screens one on DVI one on HDMI, fully working Howto: I dont know if this part is necessary, but i did it and its working. I downloaded DPCIManager, found my device/vendor id. Mine has two from nVidia. one is the audio part (my audio is 10de:0be3) the other is the gpu (10de:0a65) I edited my NVDAResman and NVD50HAL kexts to include my device id (0x0a6510de) Then tried a whole pile of EFI strings in com.apple.boot.plist. Ended up using this one <key>device-properties</key> <string>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</string> Also have this, if its yes i get either a blue screen or black screen. <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>No</string> Good luck! (edited to fix the horrible formatting, sorry peeps!)
  3. Snow Leopard kernel by qoopz/nawcom! [Intel/AMD]

Works for me. had an issue caus i installed from leopard. it was missing the installer reciepts. setup another drive with snow on it and reinstalled from that, and its all fantastic. HUGE THANKS!! P4D 940 - 3.2ghz, ga-8i945gmf, nvidia 7200gs.
  4. after some hours of fiddling last night, i got the two finger scrolling working, but i cant get my audio to stick. It works for the first boot, but then after a reboot it dies. Nick14 what did you use to get the audio working? i only want audio out, i can deal without a mic.
  5. im still with out adsl so internet has been a chore, but ive got iatkos v4 on my 1510 now, sleep works, shutdown and restart hang, full qe/ci support for the 8400, audio is fixed (yay!) Anyone got the trackpad worked out? its recognised as a mouse, not a trackpad, hence no side scrolling. Any solutions? Im using a mobile phone internet connection so im trying to seach, but its slow and painful.
  6. just got mine delivered yesterday, its a vostro 1510, 2.0ghz, 1gb, 8400m graphics. tried leo4all 10.5.2 on it. keyboard and trackpad work on first boot, then die. I cant get ci or qe working, and nor can i get sound working. Im going to have play for a while longer, and if i cant get it working ill try downloading iatkos as that seems to be what everyone else is using for the dell laptops. Any ideas people? Err just worked out the keyboard and trackpad do work, i must of stuffed something up! Anyhow, ive got the 8400m graphics, tried with .52 of the nv installer but i still dont get ci/qe support. The sound wont work either, but that seems to be common, tried the alc268 from the dell postinstaller thing, but that hasnt worked.
  7. probably need +12v running to the daughter card like you would if you were doing a quicksilver to sawtooth mod. Do a google, you should find some useful information. Try Quicksilver CPU into Sawtooth. Also see this thread for details on what i mean. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=102160 Have a read
  8. About this Mac

worked great for me too thanks! pentium d 940
  9. the 945gcm-s2c and s2l both work pretty well, network needs a realtek driver, but other wise its working really well (Azallia audio, output only). Its got gma 950 graphics builtin, so works as well as it could considering. I got the two i built for other people running with EFI and vanilla kernels, i remember reading that under efi the gma950 needs a natit type driver, but i dont know and dont quote me on it. Also i tested out the ide yesterday, ide + sata work fine on the 945gcm-s2l @nickhamm Yeah id read the whole line o/c's well. I was going to play around and see what i could get out of it, but it wasnt my machine and thought a probably shouldnt!
  10. Built a very similar box for my housemates gf the other week. Used the gigabyte ga-945gcm-s2l instead. Im building another for a friends dad today! Housemates GF's box - (Current prices in AU$ from msy) GB GA-945gcm-s2l - $57 E2180 - $79 Generic ram 1gb - $24 ASUS 7200gs - $28 SHAW xtreme 750w case - $39 Pioneer 215BK burner - $34 Maxtor 160gb Sata HD - $48 Total = $309 Should work pretty well, and your right about the minimal kext patching. Used leo4allv1 and had it working out of the box. Had to download the driver for the network off another box, but no big issue. Didnt test the IDE channel, but the sata was working. Id assume it works I built mine for $314 AU a week or so ago, but picked up from the store, the prices change quickly. If thats in US$ im totally impressed with the strength of the AU$, go the economy!
  11. PNY 6200 AGP 256 mb and GA Geforce 7300gs Pcie 256 mb

I had a dual screen setup on my 7300gs, dvi-d and vga which worked great until my acer screen's dvi-d input decided to die. I was pretty close to shelling out for another screen because i couldnt get dual screen working with vga and dvi-vga working. You guys have essential saved me ~$200 australian! Thanks to the original author and the poster my 7300gs is now working perfectly! Asus 7300gs running Dual analogue output
  12. G4 Digital Audio CPU Upgrade

    any luck?
  13. G4 Digital Audio CPU Upgrade

ah i found the guide i followed ages ago. Quicksilver into Sawtooth It should apply well to your problem. There isnt much difference between the DA and Sawtooth mobo's, except i think the DA has a faster bus speed? correct me if im wrong, i havent looked at this stuff in a while. But that guide shows you what to do for the +12v mod. As for the dual cpu support, there is something here about dual processor upgrades. Its for aftermarket ones, but should apply the same to the offical apple part. Basically you need to make sure the northbridge on the motherboard is new enough to support the dual processor. The level 3 cache should work without any mods providing the cpu works at all in the mobo, hopefully it does. I sold my quicksilver modded sawtooth to my old housemate a while back, and ive still got a 450mhz sawtooth as a torrent box. I just checked it and sadly its uni-north asic is 3. so no dual processor upgrade for that one. Not that it really needs it for what its doing. Anyway i do wish you good luck, if the motherboard doesnt support dualprocessors, id recommend selling it on ebay and buying a single cpu quicksilver chip. Its an impressive upgrade, and if you get a proper 933 with the l3 cache it would be a huge boost over the old 466. Watch out for 733's that have been overclocked and sold as a 933, they offer a good speed boost over stock but they dont have the l3 cache.
  14. G4 Digital Audio CPU Upgrade

I put a single 933 in a sawtooth, needed to remove the ide channel off the mobo. But its been working for about 2 years now. anyhow check these out. A single quicksilver mod xlr8yourmac's article on single to dual g4 mods It should work, but only one way to find out i guess. Good luck.
  15. Flashed Nvidia6800GT and LEOPARD in G4 QS800
