  1. Booting Mountain Lion on an Asus UX32VD

The best thing to do would probably be to try and write an image of the OSX installation drive to the internal 32GB SSD. Might try that later tonight and report back with the results...
  2. Booting Mountain Lion on an Asus UX32VD

Yes, I have also tried to create a stick with the mentioned software (which by the rules isn't allowed here due to its closed-source nature), to no avail. AFAIK the GM dmg matches exactly with the latest AppStore release, except if Apple has changed something in the last few days... EDIT: Just tried it again with a freshly formatted USB stick, but it still hangs at the same point (and doesn't print any "Still waiting for root device" messages), but I still suspect that this has something to do with the USB3 controller...
  3. Hi guys, I have created an USB drive with the ML GM Image on it which I now want to use to install OSX on my ultrabook, an Asus UX32VD. However, I am running into a problem - whenever I try to boot the installer, it hangs at "com.apple.AppleFSCompressionTypeZlib load succeeded" (see the attached picture, the machine was booted with -v cpus=1). I have also tried other args in various combinations such as USBBusFix, setting PCIRootUID to 0 or 1 and disabling GraphicsEnabler, to no avail. The boot volume apparently also isn't recognized, but there are no "Still waiting for root device" messages, which leads me to believe that something else is the problem. The machine only has USB3 ports (w/ Intel controller whose pci class id matches the one in the Apple kext, 0x0c0330, so I don't think that is the problem). I have also tried using a fixed DSDT which I made, and that didn't solve the problem either. Anybody have any ideas as to why this machine isn't booting? I'll make sure to write up a How-To if I get OSX running on this model. Thanks in advance EDIT: Sorry, I was in a hurry when writing this post yesterday and didn't notice that the image wasn't uploaded, so here it is: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/339/20120729195857.jpg/
  4. fermi/gtx 480/gtx 470

EDIT: Halfway there, booted into GUI. The cards even show up in System Profiler, but I'm still locked into 1024x768... Help? Still not working, it hangs at the infamous "ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out" message, which indicates that the window server is not loading - Caps Lock or Num Lock don't work either.

aqua-mac, I just read that you have 3 GTX480 running under OSX. I can't get them to work, so I just wanted to ask what is necessary to get them running. I kinda managed to get one of them running (when I take the others out), but I get artifacts over the whole screen (I can see the mouse-pointer though). Do I have to remove the SLI bridge? The cards are EVGA GTX480's, VenID 0x10de, DevID 0x06c0 The Device Paths are as follows: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x3,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) //first card PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x5,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) //second card PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x7,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) //third card (Of course help from others is welcome too) Thanks in advance, filip95 PS: aqua-mac, your inbox is full
  6. Chameleon 2.0RC1 on Eee PC 1000H

Hey! Thanks for your answer, but I can't get native resolution in the bootloader, as I modified the files earlier, didn't help... Can you select the option "video help" in the darwin bootloader and look what Modes you have? --filip95
  7. Chameleon 2.0RC1 on Eee PC 1000H

    *bump* - anybody?
  8. Can Leopard only use 3 GB of RAM?

If you by "before the white apple screen" mean the Darwin bootloader, then it's normal that it can't display 8GB. It's a 32-bit loader and can only use 3GB of the RAM. Leopard, however, is 64-bit and can address the full 8GB. Nothing to worry about. --filip95
  9. I'm having trouble installing iATKOS

Is your LAN adapter (Ethernet Card) onboard or a plugin PCI(-e) Card? If its a card, try to remove it from the system. --filip95
  10. Hello, I have searched for nearly 2 hours now, but couldn't find anything regarding the question I have. I would like to get 1024x600 at the Chameleon menu if possible. The video card is an onboard one - a Intel GMA 950 (Chameleon lists it as "Intel® 82495GM Chipset Family Graphics Chip Accelerated VGA BIOS". I have already tried to edit the resolution in the /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist and /Extra/Themes/<ThemeName>/Theme.plist files - didn't work, I still get 800x600 in the menu. --filip95
  11. [Dualboot]: Dualboot Vista + Mac OS X

Wenn ich auf meinen Eintrag Mac OS X gehe, komme ich einfach wieder zum Bootloader zurück... Wo liegt das Problem? Muss ich die OSX oder die Windows-Partition auf aktiv setzen? EDIT: Schreibfehler beseitigt
