  1. It is legal in Brazil and it should be everywhere (although is not). It is absurd to obligate a consumer to buy products of the same brand/manufactor. If you paid for the OS and if it is posible to run it in another hardware, obviously it should be your right to do it. EULA's are NOT above the law.
