  1. I am using a sabertooth x79 with a 3960x and gtx 660 and I got it install by using "-v -f npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=No"
  2. X79 systems aren't bad at all if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. they aren't an easy install like most icore systems. the X79 requires extra steps but the rewards are astronomical.
  3. lol thanks but it's far from perfect, my old i7-3770K runs must more stable than this one. I installed 10.9 on this build yesterday and I am glad I used a spare hard drive.. I had KP everywhere with it. Bigger is not always better.
  4. how did you get the audio to work? I tried to patch the kext file but wouldn't show up. Did you use a rollback?
  5. Fantomas1 is right, the wiki is great for that but just for {censored} and giggles, I will post mine for ya too.. Codename Hackzilla! 6. Ok, I have gotten Mountain Lion to install on my system and it is working fine but the system seems a bit laggy, keyboard doesn't fully work (no numberpad and can't be detected properly), and the trackpad is not working. I have been searching all week long and I think the audio is ALC 269 which requires DSDT edits and a replacement APPLEHDA.kext file. As for the trackpad and keyboard, I don't know exactly how to properly fix them. EDIT: I replaced my APPLEHDA.kext file with one that was in the download section and also patched my DSDT file but still no audio. I am attaching my DSDT file if anyone has a suggestions. Coffee is on me to anyone that helps get this audio working. dsdt.zip
  7. Hackintosh and Parallels

Have you tried to give yourself a little more ram in the virtual? Generally 4 gigs of ram is a minimum but if you are pulling too many resources from the main system then yes you will lag more. Make sure you install parallel tools 2 times because it seems that the first time doesn't take very well and needs the second one.
  8. I am not booting off the raid. If I pull my second video card, It will work fine with the raid card. The only problem is when I stick a second video card in. I was thinking it was something with the motherboard but it works fine with windows. Just not mac. I have the drives set up as Raid 5/0. The motherboard I have is the Z77X-UP7 which advertises (4) PCI-E x16 slots EVEN when populated, they are supposed to stay X16 which I am starting to dis-believe. I know with my other system running the Z77X-UD5H, If I use one slot it is X16, 2 = X8, and 3= X4 which won't work with the raid card because it requires X8 slot.
  9. Hackintosh and Parallels

I know this is a late reply but Parallels and Hackintosh work PERFECT together. I have a hackintosh running i5-3570K / 32GB Ram / Dual GTX 660 Video cards and have dedicated W7-64 / W8-64 virtuals with 8 gig ram dedicated just to the virtual. I am able to play games like Diablo 3 and the new Sim City just fine. Make sure that you dedicate a little more video ram to the virtual and it will be fine. As for using your existing windows installation, I have not been able to do it. It will not completely boot properly. It is designed with the EFI bios in mind and not a typical UEFI bios setup that most pc's have.
  10. Well after I thought I fixed the problem, I was wrong. While my system would boot fine with the way I moved my stuff around, it didn't change. I tried to access my raid drives once I got it up and running and no raid drives so back to square one. I think I am going to have to talk to Gigabyte for this or try a different raid card.
  11. My system is using the SLI cable. If I disable the cable, it won't boot. The downfall to this is that I have yet to get the SLI capabilities working under MAC. I strictly use the SLI portion for Windows Gaming.
  12. Thank you for all your help. I got it figured out. I moved my video cards into the pic-e x16 slot 3&4 and put my rocketraid card into the pic-e x8-1 slot, fired it up with SLI cable on and BAM triple monitor fired up, I jumped for joy, and now if anyone else experiences this problem, there is finally a solution..
  13. Yes. But I think I found my problem. I may be running out of power to fully function. I have a 750 watt OCZ power supply trying to power the everything including 10 3tb seagate 7200 rpm drives, 2 2tb sea gate 7200 rpm drives, a Blu-ray drive and a DVD burner. Time to try a new power supply. Ok still doesn't make sense. I have disconnected everything, installed just processor, fan, 256gb SSD, 2 video cards. Booted into Mac and windows perfect. Installed my rocketraid 2720sgl and booted into windows perfect but when I tried to go into Mac, freeze! If I pull my 2nd video card, it boots into Mac perfect as well. I am stumped.
  14. It happens regardless if the SLI cable is installed or not. As long as both cards are in, it happens..
  15. No OSX doesn't support SLI however on my other hack it works perfect. I honestly think it has something to do with the motherboard and osx. I have a gigabyte z77-ud5h with dual cards in SLI and it works fine.
