  1. ATI Mobility Radeon 7970M Help achieving QE/CI

Previously my internal screen would present a black screen., but I would also have full qe/ci just like you. I have flashed my bios with an unlocked version and have disabled the integrated graphics. And with a modified amd7000controller kext I am able to get the internal screen working without qe/ci. Have you tried unlocking your bios, in order to disable they integrated graphics?
  2. ATI Mobility Radeon 7970M Help achieving QE/CI

We have the same system and card. Booting to a black screen is a good thing for me! when it gets tot the black screen i hit fn+F1 to suspend the system. It puts itself to sleep and automatically wakes (still with a black internal screen), but if you plug in a HDMI the external hdmi works 100% QE/CI, well at least for me it does. Give it a try. Also whats your systems specs? i could send you my dsdt if similar! If you wouldn't mind, could you check out my topic on the internal screen, need a bit of help with personality editing! Cheers!
  3. Hello all, So finally i have managed to edit my DSDT to allow the 7970M card to be enabled. I have the HDMI working 100%, this is great but as it is a laptop i would love to have to internal screen working. I have read every forum on the net on how to edit custom personalities but i just can't seem to understand it! My laptop is a Alienware M17X R4, the ports from the card are: Internal screen, HDMI, VGA, DP. My frame buffer is Buri. I understand i need to inject these ports into the frame buffer, i just don't understand how to do it. I have looked everywhere on how to do it, and i have found articles that physically show me how, i just don't get it. So any help would be awesome!! If you ned any dumps, extra info tell me and i will get back to you ASAP! Cheers! 5. DSDT for Alienware M17X R4 Errors to correct

Hi Pahcixam! my system is identical tp yours except i have a 7970m HD graphics card.I havent managed to get the 7970m working yet just don't have the experience for that. Although i did look around and found some stuff on how to get the Intel 4000 graphics working! seems pretty easy. Although I haven't had a chance to get working on it because of all my college work same reason for me replying to your post late. Sorry about that! Cheers all.
  6. DSDT for Alienware M17X R4 Errors to correct

Hello all! I have a M17X R4 also. I initially had some problems with compilation but I have fixed all that! The only thing that's not working for my system is sleep. Its killing me! Haha, really cannot get it working. If anyone else manages to fix it with DSDT please share! I have done all the SSDT procedures etc. Just get a black screen at boot Hello all! I have a M17X R4 also. 7. I have found a little guide/help on how to get the Intel 4000 working. Please report back if anything is successful! Its in Portuguese mind, but that can't stop the good old gtranslate. http://olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1583
  8. I have just replaced my mini wireless card to a BCM94322HM8L, i found it lying on my shelf and found that its compatible. Doesn't have Bluetooth but i don't really use that anyway! i found a guide on dells website on how to replace: ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_alienware_laptops/alienware-m17x-r4_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.pdf Pages within the PDF you will need to look at: 12, 14, 41, 45, 49. The replacement procedure took around 15mins. What I did: I removed the already installed Intel 2230 wireless card and replaced it with my BCM94322HM8L that is compatible. After removing the 2230 I reinstalled it into the second slot of the m17x R4. I put the wireless antennas back onto the 2230. There is an additional grey antenna which I connected to the BCM94322HM8L. By having this set-up it allows the compatible card in slot one to be recognised by OS X. And by having the original (non compatible) card in the second slot it allows me to use its Bluetooth compatibilities (which can also be used in OS X). I have already tested the Bluetooth of the 2230 in os x and it seemed to be working. To get Bluetooth working: To be honest I just installed iatkos ML2 and it worked! I understand others are having problems but for me it was that easy. I didn't select anything specific in the setup. Additionally Just thought i would share it with everyone that I extracted the DSDT from the system and couldn't seem to compile it as there were many errors, but I got some help from someone else and they fixed it for me so it now compiles. I not sure what I should do with it next as I'm not the best at DSDT'ing. I would be grateful if anyone could give some direction on what to do with it next. I'm willing to send the file to you if you don't want to go through the whole processes of extraction and fixing error. What I selected in iAtkos ML2: Unticked graphics enabler Unticked kernel cache Graphics mode: 1920x1080 Quiet boot ticked Original apple logo ticked Disabler ticked Fake SMC ticked Evoreboot ticked RTC ticked Macbook pro 9,1 ( when booted changed it to 10,1 I think it was as they were similar processors) Ah I data ticked Sound ticked ( this worked for me although JONATHANSLAM said that Voodoo works okay - would recommend that) Hardware monitor ticked CPU ticked Motherboard ticked PS/2 ticked Laptop battery ticked. I have also realised there there is an Intel 4000 option to choose in iaktos ML2 but I'm not sure what options within that subheading to choose. Maybe someone could help out with that. Last thing... If anyone can help out with getting the 7970m work I would be really greatfull! I understand there is 7970 dsdt edit but as already mentioned, I'm not the best with DSDT's Cheers!
