    HS on 8700K, Coffee Lake

I'm having a ton of issues with my hack. 8700k on a gigabyte aorus gaming 7 rev1. I had the build working at one point then I botched it. After a format and remaking the usb I can't even boot to the installer. Keep hanging at "waiting for root device" and the circle with a line through it. If anyone has any insight I'd really appreciate it. Attached is my EFI that I modified from Maldon on this thread.
  2. Well I just made a new installer on a USB 3 flash drive, and now I can't even boot to the installer. Keep hanging at "waiting for root device" and a circle with a line through it. Tried FIX USB, npcix3000, can't make it past this. Old EFIs that used to work can't even make it to the installer anymore.
  3. Maldon I was able to get my hack running using your EFI at one point, then I botched a time machine restore and had to wipe my drive and start over. My USB installer got corrupted and so I made a new one on a USB 3 flash drive. Now I can't even boot into the installer using your EFI folder or any other EFI setup I've tried, keep getting stuck at "waiting for root device" and a circle with a line through it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Attached is my EFI setup that I downloaded from Maldon at the top of this thread.
  4. Ok, its getting late over here jn the states but I will give it one more go before bed. I know this system works on iMac18,3. this time around I removed NvidiaGraphicsFixup and changed CSRActiveConfig to 0x67 from 0x28. Now once I boot I lose my display after the verbose screen stops printing out. The system is powered on, but no display. Plugged my 1080ti back in and same error. Quoted are what seem to be the relevant lines to the install failure. I don't see the button to upload the entire log, probably because I'm so tired. If I find out how I can upload the whole log if needed. For now I'm off to bed, than you for your help guys! It means the world! 5. I'll try and update here on my progress my second time through. I'm currently trying Maldon's Clover with smbios imac 18,3. Removed EMUVariableEFI and added Inject Intel. Same Error. @Munkoli can you upload your efi? We may be using different ones somehow. @CrazyBirdy I just saw your suggestion. Is the Install log on the installation usb or the target drive? If it's on the target drive like I think it is, how would you suggest getting the log off the target drive when my install on that machine is broken?
  6. I just tried removing my 1080ti, setting graphics to internal in BIOS, reinstalling, and using the hackintosher EFI folder from my first post, same issue I've been plagued with: after the installer reboots (and I disable APFS conversion) I get an error message "OSX can't be installed on this system" at about 11 minutes left in the process. I made it past this step before and I can't remember how for the life of me. Last time I had success using Maldon's Clover, so I don't know what I'm missing. I had to remake my installer USB because my first one got corrupted.
  7. I've been struggling with the build. I had it running using the efi from Maldon in the above post. Then I messed it up with a botched time machine restore. Now I'm trying to get back in and remember what I did.
  8. Imac 18,3. Managed to get it to recognize after a reinstall, but didn't get any acceleration. Geekbench doesn't recognize the 1080ti, and the display is obviously not accelerated (laggy graphics.) Also, changed to osxaptiofix2drive (from the one without the 2), am updating to Nvidia Graphics Fixup 1.2.1 from 1.2.0 now
  9. Just got my build up and running with 8700k and 1080ti, can't get web drivers to recognize though. Enabled SIP, set nvda-drv=1, unchecked inject intel, and checked use Nvidia web. Installed latest drivers for 10.13.1 version 17b1003. Just reset NVRAM, about to uninstall and reinstall drivers again to see if that works. Here's my web driver version. 378.10.10.10.20.109
  10. Apologies, it looks like I was installing 10.13.1. long story short, I was able to get my system to install 10.13.1 with your clover folder, problem I’m facing now is Nvidia graphics. I botched my first attempt at it by also messing with Fake SMC kexts, and I don’t think I followed the procedure properly to the letter. For reference, this is the procedure I’m following. http://hackintosher.com/guides/properly-install-nvidia-drivers-high-sierra-10-13/ should this procedure be followed? It doesn’t specify to check nvda_drv=1 I’m also facing a sleep wake problem. My system instantly reboots on shutdown. I can post files if needed but I don’t know if not having Nvidia web drivers and not having the iGPU enabled would cause that
  11. Hi all, I'm following this guide to install 10.13 to my 8700k build. Specs are as follows 8700k Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 Rev 1 Gskill Trident z 32gb 3000 EVGA 1080ti sc2 Samsung 850 evo 500gb I've made a bootable usb following this guide and added the EFI from the thread at the top of this post. I've edited smbios to be imac 18,3, updated Fake SMC to 3.5.1, am using the latest clover 4318 followed this guide to enable Nvidia gpu. Kexts are already in the “other” folder, removed EMUVariableUEFi to try and aid the install. Used Clover Configurator to generate new serial and smuuid and made sure ff and ffm were not zeroes. I've tried this whole process at least a half dozen times in slightly different ways each time. Furthest I've gotten is to the second stage of the install, after the first reboot and the creation of the recovery partition, the installer hangs and gives a somewhat generic error message saying something along the lines of "Mac OS High Sierra can not be installed on this computer. Run Apple Diagnostics." Checking the install log and I find one error that seems to be of note regarding a failed extraction of Core.pkg if memory serves [was doing this late at night]. Up next is trying maldon’s Clover folder. Can any one of you gurus provide any help? I’m a newbie to clover so I’m just probably missing some horribly simple steps to get my system up. I really appreciate it!
  12. Thanks maldon! First thing I’ll try is your clover folder. I’ll reply over on your thread since there’s a lot of action. Massive ups man! (It’s people like you that make the world go round)

Trying to get an i7 8700k, Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 Rev 1, 1080ti build off the ground and I'm having trouble getting the installer to make it past stage two. I've been following this guide for the build. I edited smbios to be imac 18,3, updated Fake SMC, followed this guide to enable Nvidia gpu. Kexts are already in the “other” folder, removed EMUVariableUEFi. Also made sure ff and ffm were not zeroes. Hoping one of you guys that's smarter than me has the time to help me out. Looks like @outdoormagic has the same hardware as me. My Bios is F2 instead of F4a, should I flash it?
  15. New to this thread, but I’m on a coffee lake build and I followed g.com’s suggestion of moving InstallESDDmg.pkg and OSInstall.mpkg to the install drive manually. Although this was done after a failed stage two boot after opting out of apfs. Should it be done prior?
