  1. Would just like to verify that mac_os_x_10.6.5_10h562 delta update (10.6.5 beta) is safe to install on dell d620 with intel gma950 running 10.6.4 . Install is fine but 3d acceleration is lost just like the 10.6.4 update The solution is the same as the 10.6.4 update to fix 3d acceleration IONDRVSupport.kext from 10.6.3 needs to be installed with kext helper My extra folder is attached to use, I don't use the ethernet driver so no ethernet using my extra package, but this setup runs fast and smooth. Extra.zip
  2. All the The setting the utility makes are "safe" ie: jornaling is left on, please note it reboots without warning because once the settings have been Made the system must be rebooted immediately due to the changes made and As I said I made it for myself so why would I bother to make an are you sure yes no prompt Yeah should work fine on a real mac, and it will work with any SSD too.
  3. Bought a new SSD and found various settings around the net to reduce unnecessary writes to in leopard - snow leopard without removing any features. I've compiled them into a utility to save myself time in the future, feel free to use it people, check the readme for all the details the main change is noatime is disabled to stop time stamping of files when they are only read. Tested on 10.6.4 with a ASAX snow leopard II 64gb SSD all seems good. SSDoptimiser.dmg.zip
  4. Dell D620 Core duo 1.66 Gma950 1gb ram ASAX Leopard hunt II 64gb SSD Dell 1390 b/g 54g WiFi MiniPCI Car A10 bios running 10.6.4 Nice work unfortunately the pack at the bottom of your post for a d620 with gma950 that inlcudes dsdt boot.info with and efi patch does not work with my D620 I just get a kernel panic or if I just use you boot.info and my own dsdt and kext I get a blank screen, I did change the resolution in the boot.info also. Maybe because I have the model with 1280X800 lcd resolution? however your snow leopard boot disk is fantastic and those base kexts are great I just have to delete the networking kext to get my broadcom working OOB. After hrs of messing around and editing dsdt's (I remember doing this for an earlier version of leopard) It honestly seems to to nothing at all, I now run both my systems without a dsdt no problem in fact I find the dsdt make the system less stable than patched kexts, anyone elese have this experience? get one of these and push f12 at boot to choose to boot off the drive you put in it with windows on it, it replaces your dvd rom with another drive bay. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT http://www.current-eyes.com/albums/userpic...00110071002.jpg
  5. ACPI (DSDT) Patcher for BIOS and AML

Fantastic work ! Tested on gigabyte ga-g31m-s2l motherboard with f8 bios. with 10.5.6 my 8800gt works out of the box, onboard lan, all onboard chipset now I only require a kext for my onboard alc882 sound which works with digital output AWESOME. I think this is THE {censored} an alc882 patch for dsdt would make this motherboard 99% mac
  6. 10.5.6 Released!

Updated from ideneb 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 on Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L mainboard using this guide http://insanelymac.blogspot.com/2008/12/pr...pdating-to.html Works Great just needed to re-install audio and a couple of kext to get restart and shutdown working again and information in Hardware overview , runs FAST. Heres a little package I made for owners of the same board so they can solve all these problems with a few clicks also installs onboard audio driver, not advised for people using something else. enjoy... gigaupdate.zip Make sure you run if from the dmg or you have mounted the dmg before running

  8. How much do you trust your hackintosh?

My hackingtosh drive is for all my important and delicate date and websurfing works flawlessly just be careful with updates, most the time a simple script will do the trick. I only use windows x64 for games as it's a virus ridden peice of {censored}, much better than win xp I have to admit though.
