  1. Hi, When I try to open About This Mac from the apple menu nothing happens, no windows open. When I try to open it, console reports this: 12/05/2014 18:27:01.724 loginwindow[70]: *** NSRunStorage, _NSBlockNumberForIndex(): index (42) beyond array bounds (42) 12/05/2014 18:27:01.727 loginwindow[70]: ( 0 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff95f3325c __exceptionPreprocess + 172 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x00007fff8c43ce75 objc_exception_throw + 43 2 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff95f3310c +[NSException raise:format:] + 204 3 AppKit 0x00007fff8cbc48e7 _NSBlockNumberForIndex + 85 4 AppKit 0x00007fff8cbc7541 -[NSLayoutManager textContainerForGlyphAtIndex:effectiveRange:] + 274 5 loginwindow 0x000000010582d564 loginwindow + 398692 6 loginwindow 0x00000001057f0c83 loginwindow + 150659 7 loginwindow 0x00000001057efc00 loginwindow + 146432 8 loginwindow 0x00000001057e44eb loginwindow + 99563 9 AE 0x00007fff9495ee1f _Z20aeDispatchAppleEventPK6AEDescPS_jPh + 381 10 AE 0x00007fff9495ec32 _ZL25dispatchEventAndSendReplyPK6AEDescPS_ + 31 11 AE 0x00007fff9495eb36 aeProcessAppleEvent + 315 12 HIToolbox 0x00007fff93fa2161 AEProcessAppleEvent + 56 13 AppKit 0x00007fff8caf3246 _DPSNextEvent + 1026 14 AppKit 0x00007fff8caf2a2b -[NSApplication nextEventMatchingMask:untilDate:inMode:dequeue:] + 122 15 AppKit 0x00007fff8cae6b2c -[NSApplication run] + 553 16 loginwindow 0x00000001057d1b32 loginwindow + 23346 17 libdyld.dylib 0x00007fff88fc15fd start + 1 18 ??? 0x0000000000000002 0x0 + 2 ) I have done some minor modification to the SMBios using Clover Configurator but I do not think this is the problem. I am using clover bootloader r2636 and the machine works perfectly with no other issues with the most recent OS X update (10.9.2)
  2. I am on the process of changing bootloader, to clover, but am facing a problem. I installed it to an external SD Card formatted as FAT32 on MBR, and it booted fine, into the bootloader (after some trial and error). I then tried to boot OS X, during the boot everything looked normal, but when the desktop should appear, the monitor(s) went to sleep and I had no graphics. The desktop had loaded as I heard volume change sounds and the caps lock light worked. Everything works fine with chamelon but I need a clover for the appstore and updates. Here are my specs: i5-3570k Gigabyte GTX660 MSI Z77-MA G45 Here is my config.plist in (SD card)/EFI/CLOVER <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMBIOS</key> <dict> <key>BiosVendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> </dict> <key>Boot</key> <dict> <key>Timeout</key> <integer>7</integer> <key>DefaultVolume</key> <string>HDD12345</string> <key>Arguments</key> <string>-v GI=Yes</string> </dict> <key>ACPI</key> <dict> <key>DSDT</key> <dict> <key>Debug</key> <false/> <key>FixMask</key> <string>0x3031</string> <key>DsdtName</key> <string>BIOS</string> <key>Patches</key> <array/> </dict> <key>SSDT</key> <dict> <key>Generate</key> <dict> <key>PStates</key> <true/> <key>CStates</key> <true/> </dict> <key>DropOem</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> <key>GUI</key> <dict> <key>Theme</key> <string>MavStyle</string> <key>TextOnly</key> <false/> <key>Language</key> <string>ru:0</string> <key>Mouse</key> <dict> <key>Enabled</key> <true/> <key>Speed</key> <integer>10</integer> <key>Mirror</key> <false/> <key>DoubleClick</key> <integer>500</integer> </dict> </dict> <key>Graphics</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <dict> <key>Intel</key> <false/> <key>ATI</key> <false/> <key>NVidia</key> <true/> </dict> <key>InjectEDID</key> <false/> </dict> <key>KernelAndKextPatches</key> <dict> <key>AppleRTC</key> <true/> <key>AsusAICPUPM</key> <true/> <key>KernelCpu</key> <false/> </dict> <key>Devices</key> <dict> <key>USB</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <true/> <key>AddClockID</key> <true/> <key>USBFixOwnership</key> <true/> </dict> <key>PCIRootUID</key> <string>1</string> </dict> <key>RtVariables</key> <dict> <key>MountEFI</key> <true/> </dict> <key>SystemParameters</key> <dict> <key>InjectSystemID</key> <true/> <key>InjectKexts</key> <true/> </dict> </dict> </plist> Any ideas? Thanks! EDIT: SOLVED. Fixed by turning off GraphicsInjector in the bootflags. Still have full accelerationa and it detects my card.
  3. Hi, When on 10.8, I edited about this mac by modifying com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist in ~/Library/Preferences. I changed the name, computer picture, and a couple of other things. I restarted and tested it, it worked fine. After updating to 10.9, it worked for a while, then I tried to open it, but it does not, nothing happens. System Information still opens, but about this mac does not open. I tried moving com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist to the desktop and rebooting, I had the same issue (OS X had made another on reboot which was empty). I was using a smbios.plist in /Extra, so I downloaded a stock one and used that, not change. I then just renamed it to smbios.plist.old to disable it all together. Still same thing and I have run out of ideas. Graphics all work perfectly so it isn't a graphics problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

    [SOLVED] 10.9 GM GTX 660 Bad Performance

    Solved! Downloaded these kexts: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292483-fixed-nvidia-9400gt-1024mb-on-109-gm/?p=1953198 and install them with kext wizard, I rebooted with -F -f -v and GraphicsEnabler=No, to check if it worked, it did! I then got rid of all my kernel flags in org.chameleon.boot.plist and added: <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>No</string> to org.chameleon.boot.plist and it now fully works!

    [Fixed] nVidia 9400gt 1024MB on 10.9 GM

    Thank you so much! Installed the kexts with kext wizard (didn't work by just dragging and rebooting with -f), reboot with GraphicsEnabler=No and -F (had other kernel flags which didn't work) and it works perfectly! Using graphicsEnabler=Yes, made me get stuck on a grey screen.

    [Fixed] nVidia 9400gt 1024MB on 10.9 GM

    Any chance you could upload the NVD* kexts from your DP8 install to here a .zip? Hoping they will fix GTX660 GM install, as I have nowhere to install a DP to, and everything else in my GM install works. Thanks.

    [SOLVED] 10.9 GM GTX 660 Bad Performance

    I can confirm that openGL is not installed or configured properly, which is causing the problem. Video playback through VLC confirms this, showing this error:

    [SOLVED] 10.9 GM GTX 660 Bad Performance

    Thanks for the answer. Tried, didn't work, same result as last time, reboot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes and GraphicsEnabler=No, no result. Reinstalled. Same thing happened again. Any other recommendations?
  14. I installed 10.9 over my fully working 10.8.2 install and everything thing is fine, apart from my graphics perforamnce, which is poor. It boot fine with GraphicsEnabler=no and system profiler said I had a 7mb video card, with no graphics kext being used apparently. With GraphicsEnabler=yes it detected the card but it said 0mb VRAM and I had no acceleration(laggy graphics and opaque top bar). I had the same performance with both GraphicsEnabler options. I have the 10.8 web drivers installed, unless they were deleted in the 10.9 install, but can I use them with a boot flag or by deleting kexts? Does anyone know a solution to this? The nvidia web drivers cannot be installed on 10.9 but can I use the ones already installed from 10.8 with a boot flag? Thanks.
