  1. I'm using one of the two Mini-Display Ports My monitor is 2560x1440 and Mini-Display port is the only port to support sizes that big. I'd try using my Integrated graphics card if I had monitor to use it with haha.
  2. Are these Clover boot flags? Is AtiPorts the same as VideoPorts? I'm already defining this within my config.plist <key>VideoPorts</key> <string>4</string> Is Tahiti a framebuffer? It doesn't seem to be listed in this list - http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292647-no-video-playback-on-hd7770/?p=1954322 Where did you find this framebuffer? I apologize for all the questions. Just trying to learn where you're coming from.
  3. Hi guys, Context and Information: This is my current Hackintosh build - http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/jwmann/saved/BJw6Mp I'm currently running 10.8.5 and using FBrotate.app as a startup item to alleviate my white screen issue to login. I'm trying to update to Yosemite (10.10.1) I've made my installer using this method: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyGUIDInstallerUSB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --no interaction I'm using Clover to inject my FakeSMC and other kexts. Here's my config for Clover incase that helps. - http://d.pr/n/1esKg/38AVJwdG How I'm booting: I'm able to boot into the Installer, however I get a whitescreen issue and I'm not capable of doing anything. These are the usual flags that I use to boot: -v -npci=2000 -slide=0 -darkwake=1 It also boots fine without any flags. What I've tried: I've tried to perform the sleep trick, however my computer doesn't seem to respond to my sleep. I'm attempting to initiate Sleep by pressing the Power button once and waiting. Holding down the Power button will initiate a Forced Hard Shutdown Of course the next thing I've tried is to boot the installer using the -x boot flag for Safe Mode. This doesn't boot properly and says "No Mac OS Version" and ends up restarting. I don't have the exact logs to this but I'm fairly certain the reason why Safe Mode doesn't work is because it doesn't inject the kexts needed for the boot to work properly. Update #1: I've tried the 4 framebuffers from this list that have the same ports as my card - http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292647-no-video-playback-on-hd7770/?p=1954322 These are the Framebuffers I tried and their outcomes: Aji - White Screen issue Dashimaki - Black Screen ( Not working at all ) Futomaki - Black Screen ( Not working at all ) Hamachi - White Screen issue
  4. I just changed my password to abide with the new standards and the results are the same.
  5. Well, I thought this thread was dead. Anyway, I have an iPhone AND a Visa connected to my Apple ID. My Apple ID services work fine for my MBP, iPhone and other more legitimate Apple products. I still haven't been able to get around this problem.
  6. I added this into my config.plist as-is but there was no change. Perhaps I need to generate this numbers? I also added my regular serial number back (same as the RTVariables except without the five 0's at the end of it)
  7. Hi there, my iCloud works and my AppStore works and my Facetime apparently works only iMessage doesn't work. This is the message I get every time it tries to setup: http://d.pr/i/WQsV/1gJcBwPP I'm using Clover 1208 I'm at a loss right now and I'm not sure what else to try. I even generated an new serial number and SMBIOS and that won't work either. Here is my config.plist: http://d.pr/n/E5hd/4OYOukQV Things I've tried: http://blog.stanhutc...ixing-imessage/ http://d.pr/ZAoO/8RDIsYb4 http://www.macbreake...problem-on.html http://www.insanelym...ges-fix-how-to/ http://d.pr/QEGb/Sz8FHwEa My build is inside my signature. Let me know if you guys need any more information that would help you help me.
  8. BIOS to UEFI Pros and Cons

Awesome, Thanks! So I've just fully migrated to UEFI with CSM(Legacy Mode) It took me a little while to get UEFI clover setup to boot OSX because I forgot to delete my previous DSDT.aml (also not realizing I was trying to boot into my Hackintosh drive and not my Flash drive) As for the GPU (I apologize for the topic deviation) I wouldn't have the slightest clue on where to begin to create this VBIOS for my GPU; Perhaps you could head me the right direction? I'll PM you so that the topic stays true.
  9. BIOS to UEFI Pros and Cons

Wow, It didn't even occur to me that all the components that seem to work during boot- only work because of their built-in support. I didn't even know that Windows 8 had a super fast EFI mode. Fast boot times aren't really a high priority for me however it is nice to have. I've been following the '7xxx remove sleep trick' thread and it was actually your post that lead me to investigate this UEFI option: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/285756-hd-7xxx-can-we-eliminate-the-sleep-trick/page__st__60#entry1887341 I was largely considering replicating that. This is my exact GPU - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4366#dl It doesn't seem to have a VBIOS EFI update as you mention so perhaps I could do as you mentioned and have a UEFI firmware motherboard except have Legacy support for devices that doesn't yet support EFI? (sacrificing boot-time) Are there things I'd need to change on my OSX setup prior to upgrading my motherboard to UEFI? I'd imagine I'd have to switch my Clover Bootloader to the UEFI option first. Is there anything I should look out for? I really appreciate your response.
  10. Hi There, If this is in the incorrect forum, please let me know. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 and I'm currently using its stock BIOS I'm fortunate to have the option to upgrade to a UEFI firmware - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3973&dl=1#bios The reason this possibility came to my attention was when I ran into a bootloader issue with my Radeon 7950 card not playing nicely with Chameleon. I read that Clover is considered a better option; It took me a great deal of time to figure out that the 'EFI' bootloader doesn't work on my regular BIOS mobo. (facepalm) However I discovered that they have a legacy boot version of Clover. So I'm currently running on that. From what I'm able to discover, UEFI to a certain extent doesn't require a DSDT.aml Would it be a good decision to move to UEFI? What challenges would I face? What advantages would I gain? Would this affect my Windows partition? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  11. AMD 7950 for Mac made easier

I don't think it's even worth it anymore.. Would it be better to just buy a regular 7950 and wait for the 'Mac edition' BIOS to be ported to the regular one? I'm looking into replacing my 6870 with something more stable and powerful for ML.
  12. AMD 7950 for Mac made easier

I currently have a 6870 too and wondering if the two cards can be SLI/Crossfired together. I know the 7950 would be 'Mac compatible' but would it still be useable on Windows?
  13. Nope, nothing but the standard that's in the BIOS. I think I have a bootable version of Diskwarrior; I'll try that.
  14. Hi there, I have recently been getting a weird issue. I have absolutely no idea what causes it; It seems to almost be random. My system will completely lock-up. No messages, or errors. Literally everything stops and I can't do anything (mouse/display/keyboard, everything is suspended) I checked to see the last thing before BOOT_TIME inside the console and nothing stood out. How would you recommend I try and troubleshoot this? I've been running this Hackintosh for about a year now and the last time I had something similar was due to old firmware on a Crucial M4 SSD, however I've made sure they're all up-to-date
