  1. Hm, I ran your script to put the GM Lion Installation Disk on a spare partition (shoul be as good as a USB stick). When I boot from this partition by chosing it in Chameleon, It loads the kexts, i think it discovers some hardware and w/o any "comment" it reboots. /var/log/kernel.log is empty. Any ideas? it is too fast to make a photo... Hardware see Sig (the gigabyte of course...) EDIT: stupid, it booted the old Chameleon. After replacing with r1007 what I now get is the message that my ATI somewhat is not found, and it starts reading the VBIOS. Well, after a few seconds the screen looks funny, and that's it. Looks as if my grapfics card is not liked. What can I do here? Thanks Joey
  2. USB works if you switch it from High Speed to full Speed in bios. IMHO they work then still in Highspeed, if I copy from a SD card to disk I get 10MByte/s and more. This USB High Speed, isn't it? sound sometimes for me also does not work. I usually use kext utitlity then to make sure all permissions are good, and after next boot it works (no VoodooHDA). Anybody eSATA hotplug working? I am not sure, but I believe when I was in 10.6.0 I could use the eSATA hot pluggable. Now I always have to reboot if I connect a HD to eSATA. not as itis supposed to be. Any hints welcome... Thanks Joey
  3. ...there is a button labelled 'options' .... hit that, it will give you all possibilities, but before you hit 'install'

Plex can play back 720p mkv with 10MBit at 77% CPU. It does not want to start a 1080p .ts (recorded from HDTV) , also no 1080p mkv. same with XBMC Dharma. Grmmmbl, I wanted to switch to OsX. Looks bad for the moment... EDIT: correction, I found also some mkvs with 1080p24 playing well!!! I think it is very important that the CPU is idle. It did that with XBMC Dharma. Hint: press 'o' during playback, this will give you info whether HW accelaration is used, and CPU usage/bitrate etc. CU Joey
  5. I cannot figure out how to get Hi Speed running on my Zotac ION ITX board. There are sooooo many threads regarding USB...can someone point me in the right direction? If I activate USB HiSpeed in BIOS, I get the following messages: AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff8007808000]::UIMInitialize - could not get chip to halt within 100 ms Nov 1 10:49:41 Ion kernel[0]: USBF: 28.933 AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff8007808000]::UIMInitialize - Error occurred (0xe00002c9) Nov 1 10:49:42 Ion kernel[0]: USBF: 29. 37 AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff8007808000]::UIMFinalize - could not get chip to halt within 100 ms Nov 1 10:49:42 Ion kernel[0]: USBF: 29. 58 AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff80077fd000]::UIMFinalize - could not get chip to halt within 100 ms Nov 1 10:49:42 Ion kernel[0]: USBF: 29.172 AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff80077e0000]::UIMInitialize - could not get chip to halt within 100 ms Nov 1 10:49:42 Ion kernel[0]: USBF: 29.184 AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff80077e0000]::UIMInitialize - Error occurred (0xe00002c9)USBF: 29.189 I use Chameleon RC5 with <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Default Partition</key> <string>hd(1,10)</string> <key>DropSSDT</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EHCIacquire</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>yes</string> <key>GUI</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x720x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>RestartFix</key> <string>No</string> <key>SMBIOSdefaults</key> <string>No</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>Bullet</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>2</string> <key>USBBusFix</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>USBLegacyOff</key> <string>yes</string> <key>arch</key> <string>x86</string> </dict> </plist> I suspect I need to add sth in my DSDT.aml...but what?   6. hi I also have a zotac running, but still some problems with 6.4, now trying to tackle them. The first: do you really run it w/o NullCPUPowerManagement in /Extra? I get kernel panic in this case... also my Audio and USB don't work, needs more research. CU Joey EDIT: forget it, working fine now, forgot to switch the kernel...
  7. Work x1950gt pro ! Dev_ID = 0x72801002 and 0x72881002 !

    After applying the SnowLeo grpahics update I get kernel panic in ATIRadeonX1000.kext. adding 0x72801002 to the list of supported Ids did not help. Any suggestions? More to patch? Thanks Joey PS I use the package from plan3r, which is really great except that I can't figure out how to survive this update...
  8. Thanks, I figured that out too. I was only asking how Chameleon or PC-EFI behaves if no /Extra folder is present. Nobody seems to know or at least to answer, but no prob, I got it running perfectly in the meantime. But not with the NVidia but my old ATI ... The only problem now is that hd(0,2) is varying all the time...i have 5 HDs attached to my computer, and it looks as if the numbers are really random, maybe depending on the 'boot speed' of the Hds...so next time another physical HD gets hd(0,2) assigned, so a big surpise what is booted :-) But this is worth opening a different thread: how to permanently assign the physical harddrives to numbers...
  9. Hi I had the same problem. It was solved by using kextutility, which basically repairs all permissions and recreates the caches. then boot W/O (!) -f, and you have QE/CI etc. (well at least for me that worked great , 10.6.4 with Chameleon RC4, 32 bit) Cu Joey
  10. NVDIA 9800 GTX + 10.6.4 = kein Signal

Gruss Joey
  11. I have the following phenomenon: Part 1: boot partition, with /boot file, and some OSX 10.6.x Part 2: some OSX 10.6.0 with /Extra/Ext, some com....plist, DSDT.aml Part 3: some OSX 10.6.4 etc ... I struggle to bring my 9800GT to full life. I never could get QE to work. Now I accidentially deleted on Part 1 the /Extra folder, and bootet. Chameleon with PC-Efi 10.6 still comes up (though no comm....plist available), and I choose to boot Part 2. Guess what? Great success, full QE,CI,etc. During boot I get messages that NVidia GT9800 is recognized (well I get that always), that some DSDT is loaded, some kexts from /Extra are loaded. But my com....plist on Part 2 /Extra is extremely simple: just kernel-flags = X86_64 (which is ignored, because I have 32 bit afterwards...) and some Resolution settings. No Graphics Enalber settings etc. Why does it work. And now, even stranger: If I re-create the /Extra Folder on Part 1, and put the same com...plist there, no more Graphacs detections takes place. Well, no wonder, I need to add GrapshicsEnabler=Yes. But still: after booting Part 2 no QE/CI, although I have not touched Part 2!! I have been experimenting, and only if I leave Part 1 w/o /Extra, I get Part 2 to work with QE/CI etc. Booting Part 1: no Booting Part 3: no (this might be related to the other version 10.6.4) Any explanation? EDIT: I want to set a default boot partition (WAF...) and hide some, thats why I really need some com...plist on Part 1. Thanks Joey
  12. NVDIA 9800 GTX + 10.6.4 = kein Signal

  13. NVDIA 9800 GTX + 10.6.4 = kein Signal

Danke Gruss Joey
