  1. Ever since I updated to 10.6.8 and 10.7 my Radeon 5870 w/ Eyefinity 6 has only been working with passive display ports, limiting me to 2 displays. I finally got it working this morning with a little help from sweaty's post here (which pointed me at netkas's post). I went and downloaded the developer's version 11c37 and attempted to install it, but my system KP'd during the installation and then would not boot. I re-installed 10.7 to get my system up and running again. I realized I only needed the ATI kexts, so I used Pacifist to extract out the ATI kexts, used Kext Helper b7 to install them, restarted and everything was working!!

Like I mentioned before, I have a 5870 with Eyefinity 6 (ALL display ports), but it seems like this method should work with anyone else having troubles with their display ports. (don't forget you need active display port adapters for anything beyond the first two monitors!)

  2. Anyway, in reply, when i did this on my 10.5.6 ipc install, it didn't work. followed all the steps. Still hangs on mounting simple dmgs. hangs with friendly "black screen of death"

    Any suggestions??

I'm at the same point as you. I've tried installing the 10.5.6 seatbelt.kext many different ways. Via OSX86 Tools, manually, through kext helper. None of them work. Booted with -v -f, without it. Nothing is working.

  3. Hi I installed leopardon my pc

    Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 Ghz

    Biostar TP35D2-A7

    Corsair 2 Gb 667Mhz

    Nvidia 8400GS 512Mb

    ps/2 mouse & keyboard

using iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal DVD along default kernel and added seatbelt 10.5.5 patch

but it did crash on dmg mount

    I did a uname -a I got

    Darwin adityas-oem.local 9.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.6.0: Mon Nov 24 17:37:00 PST 2008; root:xnu-1228.9.59~1/RELEASE_I386 i386

I installed the seatbelt.kext attached as

Then I tried osx86tools after a fresh install of leopard to install kext still crashed

Then I tried without the seatbelt.kext during install still crashed on dmg mount. Tried installing seatbelt.kext after it does not work please help

I have the same issue as you. No version of seatbelt.kext are working.

  4. Not sure about the wireless drivers. Updated with Combo updates doing the proper terminal commands beforehand (search for them, something like "do while(1); rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Appleblahblah.kext;done") For the BCD bootloading, change the Darwin timeout to 0 seconds. It'll streamline things for you.

  5. Here is the fix for the mouse lag problem.

I am having problems with my kernel too... the clock is running too fast. Weird. I'm on voodoo 9.5.0 with an old version of seatbelt.kext.

What 9.6.0 kernel are you using?

Thanks! That fixed the mouse issue! When I uname -a I get:

    Darwin TehFatBatzOSX.local 9.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.6.0: Mon Nov 24 17:37:00 PST 2008; root:xnu-1228.9.59~1/RELEASE_I386 i386

I updated with the 10.5.6 Combo Update, running Vanilla Kernel and PC_EFI v9.

  6. three things. one, when i turn my laptop on, i automatically connect to my home network (MSHOME) automatically and i can get online, but the airport icon in the corner stays empty (the blank quarter circle icon) and it says 'no network selected', but everything is connected. i guess its more cosmetic than functional, but id like it fixed.

two, any time i change my power settings, like setting it so the screen never turns off even on battery, all the settings reset any time i shut down and start back up.

third, when i shut down, the OS shuts down, but the fans spin all day long. if i restart, it restarts perfectly, but again, none of my power settings are saved. please help anyone!!

o, and im running leopard with the ToH RC2. I have time machine working with the proper IO networking kext. any ideas?!?!

  7. Hey guys,

I also have the broadcom netextreme gigabit nic, my device id is 1600

I loaded the driver, and it shows that it is loaded, i have tried so many broadcom fixes for my dell d820 that when I load this driver up, my nic shows up as "en2"

    when I try to:

    sudo -s

    ifconfig ether 00:19:b9:58:ce:04

    I get:

ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): Network is down

My first thought was maybe I should plug it in and then try, but same result, while there is a link, the system preferences does not show a difference weither there is a link or not, my dmesg shows:

    AppleBCM5151Ethernet: 0 0 wakeUp - reset adapter failed

    AppleBCM5151Ethernet: 0 0 wakeUp - enable - failed

    Any Ideas??

I'm getting the exact same problem. It recognizes my ethernet card, but I get that error whenever I try to set my mac address. Does anyone know how to fix this?
