  1. I'm looking to purchase this card: http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Ultimate-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-100326UL/dp/B005LU2Z1G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1349722889&sr=8-1&keywords=sapphire+6670+ultimate+1gb to use with a Kakewalk build on an older GA-EP45-UD3P board I've had for some time now. I've been reading mixed reviews about this line but the difficulties appear to be in older posts. Does anyone have or can they speak on behalf of this Graphics Card. TIA
  2. Well this was a surprise. I did nothing to my install since my last post but buy a new monitor (Dell Ultra Sharp U2311 23"). Update to 10.6.4 with no issue. There is no HDMI input on the Monitor, but it is HDCP compliant.
  3. As of 10.6.2+ higher most HDTVs and some monitors with HDCP compliance have issues with the G92 Series Gpu's. Particularly GTS250s. Anyone running a rig with a GTS250 running 10.6.4 with a digital connection (ie DVI or HDMI)? If so please share your monitor type and resolution. TIA!
  4. Thanks for the reply. I have an existing GTS250 Card but it causes a Black Screen on OS 10.6.2 or higher using my Aquos 46" HDTV when plugged in via HDMI or DVI->HDMI. I'm not a gamer but I'd like to keep the performance of the system at or above the G92 nVidia CPU. I'm going to try out a 9400GT straight DVI as the problem appears to be linked to HDCP connections.
  5. If I were to buy the ATI 4870 card that they sell at Apple would it work in my Hackintosh without issue, or am I still tied to 32bit beta netkas code to get it to function properly?
  6. I have a Galaxy GTS 250 with 512MB of DDR3 Ram. Performance isn't the issue but the black screen of death is. I'm looking for something to replace that card. I've found the following but I'm wondering if the performance is worth the difference in price. Here are my options. 1) EVGA 512-P3-N871-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ w/512MB @ 68.98 AR or 2) EVGA 896-P3-1255-RX GeForce 260 Core 215 w/ 896MB @ 157 Performance difference aside, which will cause the least amount of grief? I'm tired of trying to get my system to update just to be disappointed by a black screen every time I plug in my Aquos HDTV. TIA
  7. Thanks for the post. I was just about to do the same. I can run 10.6.4 on my Standard Monitor, but the HDTV is a no go. Has to be something surrounding the HDCP function on my AQUOS Monitor, as the standard monitor is not HDCP compliant (Not that that is new news to most). I'm looking at replacing my card. EVGA 260 Core 216, but that's a different post.
  8. Let me guess you are stuck at 1024x768 and your Graphics card shows as a 32MB nVidia device when you go to system profiler. This means your ROM file is not loading. You can further check it by testing if your device has QE/CI (Try to run front row). I get the same results when there is no ROM file present. I'd need to know more about your system to direct you further. PM me and I can help you to the best of my abilities.
  9. Thank you Jammol for your response. I tried your ROM file yesterday and much like the others in the thread I am having the same issues. I'm going to try with a clean install, using the Cartri MacBios, and Chameleon Bootloader to see if I can remove the black screen. Update to follow.
  10. I'm using a Galaxy GTS 250 512MB (which is essentially a 9800GTX) on a 46" Sharp Aquos LCD. Ever since 10.6.2 I've been experiencing issues with HDMI connections and the WindowServer crash causing a black screen. All works well with Straight DVI to a standard 17" Monitor. When running 10.6.3+, no matter how I connect digitally DVI->HDMI or HDMI->HDMI to my 46" I always get the same result. Black screen of death. I've tried the MacPro8800GT.rom, Cartri MacBios, GraphicsEnabler=Yes using Chameleon RC4+5prerelease and Asere BLN 1.9, and countless other suggestions but no luck. Complete system specs are in my sig, but I'm seriously frustrated and thinking of buying a 285 and just paying the 400+ to avoid the grief. If anyone has a working GTS 250 card on a HDMI connection I'd really appreciate some feedback. Thanks in Advance
  11. I tried this on my GA-EP45-UD3P 4GB Q9550 w/ Galaxy GTX250 512mb video system and the GUI came up but without resolution options beyond 1280x1024 and no QE/CI. I tried by repairing the permissions on the files as well, but it didn't change the effect.
  12. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

I'm having a similar problem with my Lifehacker System. I've got the stock build with no added NIC and a Galaxy GTX250 512MB card connected to a 46" Aquos HDTV. 10.6.2 gives a Black screen when plugged via Native HDMI to HDMI or through the DVI to HDMI converter. I'm stuck in the same situation as the others in this post. Holding back at 10.6.1 until there is a solution that works better then rolling back to the 10.6.1 drivers. I was never able to get that to work properly my resolution dropped down to 1280x1024 and I lost QE/CI. If I happened to miss the solution through the 46 post pages please someone PM. Merry Xmas/Happy holidays.
  13. Using a similar card (G92) in my "Lifehacker" system. A Galaxy GTX250 512MB with an Aquos 46" HDTV via HDMI-DVI adapter to be exact. Actually, I've been having issues since 10.6.1 (Blue screen at startup that goes away if you pull the cable and replug) with the native HDMI-HDMI port but it will not not boot at all, WindowServer freeze, on 10.6.2 with my HDTV. I don't seem to see a solution in any of the forums I've read. I'm sticking with 10.6.1 for now till there is a definitive solution. I've got a new Vertex SSD I need and I need to swing the system over to that drive. That will be enough work for the time being as I want to start fresh. Thanks to Stellarola for his work and here's hoping a solution to the BlackFreeze comes soon!
  14. I picked up one of these today for $12.99 Free Shipping and -$10 rebate Exp 7/21/09 (today) and in the product description it clearly states OS X compatibility. It also comes with BlueSoleil Software which is the only way to go for Windows in my opinion. Here's the link in case anyone's interested: http://www.buy.com/prod/aluratek-abd2020-u.../203469315.html Putting it out there in case anyone else is having issues with sleep and KB pairing. My IOGear GBU221 is causing me problems and hopefully this will resolve it. System Spec: OS: 10.5.6 (native install) CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83GHz MB: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P BIOS V1 RAM: 4GB DDR2 800MHz dual-channel Graphics: Galaxy Technologies GTS 250 512MB DDR3 DVD-RW: 20X DVD+/-RW DL IDE HD: SAMSUNG 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"
  15. GA-EP45-UD3P wake up problem

Do you have Bluetooth hooked up to the system. I did, and once I removed it the sleep wake-up problem went away. I guess i need to find a different BT key.
