  1. Hello, I'am using the ALXEthernet 1.0.2 kext (through an Ozmosis BIOS Mod) on my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H (Rev. 1.1). Unfortunately the kext doesn't seem to be stable, because it crashes regularly with a kernelpanic. This is getting annoying. Is there a way to fix it? This is the log from the panic: Mon Mar 10 18:53:32 2014 panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff8000236a66): "thread_invoke: preemption_level 1, possible cause: blocking while holding a spinlock, or within interrupt context"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2422.90.20/osfmk/kern/sched_prim.c:2231 Backtrace (CPU 2), Frame : Return Address 0xffffff81d68dba40 : 0xffffff8000222fa9 0xffffff81d68dbac0 : 0xffffff8000236a66 0xffffff81d68dbb50 : 0xffffff8000235d8c 0xffffff81d68dbb90 : 0xffffff80002d5f50 0xffffff81d68dbbe0 : 0xffffff80002d12ed 0xffffff81d68dbc00 : 0xffffff80005ec5d8 0xffffff81d68dbc90 : 0xffffff80006066be 0xffffff81d68dbcc0 : 0xffffff8000607a0e 0xffffff81d68dbd70 : 0xffffff7f82116996 0xffffff81d68dbdc0 : 0xffffff7f811b52d0 0xffffff81d68dbe00 : 0xffffff80006aebf9 0xffffff81d68dbe50 : 0xffffff7f811b53af 0xffffff81d68dbe70 : 0xffffff7f811b47b5 0xffffff81d68dbed0 : 0xffffff7f811b4723 0xffffff81d68dbef0 : 0xffffff80006ae020 0xffffff81d68dbf30 : 0xffffff80006acac2 0xffffff81d68dbf80 : 0xffffff80006acc43 0xffffff81d68dbfb0 : 0xffffff80002d6ff7 Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily(3.2)[1EAD69CB-6AB4-387F-94C4-8FAAFF28354C]@0xffffff7f811a3000->0xffffff7f811d6fff com.1n54n3lym4c.ALXEthernet(1.0.2)[6348F8DB-1233-3D33-A7FD-66E3ED3E7EB6]@0xffffff7f82115000->0xffffff7f82122fff dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily(3.2)[1EAD69CB-6AB4-387F-94C4-8FAAFF28354C]@0xffffff7f811a3000 dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.9)[EDA75271-4E9D-34E7-A2C5-14F0C8817D37]@0xffffff7f808bb000 BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task Boot args: slide=0 Mac OS version: 13C64 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 13.1.0: Thu Jan 16 19:40:37 PST 2014; root:xnu-2422.90.20~2/RELEASE_X86_64 Kernel UUID: 9FEA8EDC-B629-3ED2-A1A3-6521A1885953 System model name: MacPro3,1 (Mac-F42C88C8)
  2. Hi, I have a 10.6.8 VM in VMWare running, it works fine so far, but the VM seems a bit slow. I guess its because there is no GPU acceleration (or something similar). The VM can use 4 GB of RAM and 3 of my 6 cores from my AMD Phenom II X6 1090T. My GPU is a AMD HD 7970. Is there a possibility to improve the performance of my VM? (I don't want to install Mac OS alongside my already dual boot with Linux and Windows. I need Mac OS only for one app, just like Windows. Linux is my daily driver.) Thanks for your help!
