  1. Hey, Lejenk! Thanks for all the work you've been putting on the Inspiron 17R SE! I have a 15R SE with Radeon graphics, but I will try you DSDT in my system and post what happens. I noticed in you signature that you brightness keys aren't working... This seems to be a keyboard problem. I found a VoodooPS2 that works fine with my keyboard and activates the brightness keys. SL_PS2_Voodoo.zip
  2. Lejenk, I have tried your DSDT edit for AppleHDA; somehow I couldn't manage to make it work. It seems your code on this thread is missing some brackets, and I couldn't find this edit inside the file you shared. Would you mind looking into it?
  3. Wow, I've been away from the forum for a while and Lejenk makes huge advancements! Thanks for sharing! I came back to share with Inspiron SE owners a discovery I found: an Elantech driver that make the trackpad works as a trackpad, with gestures and everything! Here's the link for the Kext: http://www.tonymacx86.com/laptop-compatibility/74051-elantech-touchpad-driver-mac-osx.html
  4. I'm very new to hackintosh, but I would suggest this in case of Kext problem: 1) Enter in Safe Boot mode (-x) 2) Identify and uninstall the problematic kexts. 3) Try to reboot normally. 4) If it works, try to install another kext for your hardware. For the NIC in Inspiron 7520, I found that the lnx2mac works almost fine, but you should install the file available on his site - I had problem with versions from packages.
  5. zmechanic, I had problems with my USB before using a DSDT file; also, with the DSDT edit, I got Keyboard Brightness control, auto detection of phone jack, and nice sound with an edited VoodooHDA.
  6. I finally got the Ethernet to work! For some strange reason, it always auto attributes an IP when I plug the ethernet cable, unless I start the OS with cable already plugged... It works like a charm (using lnx3mac NIC driver).
  7. Sorry for the delay! Here's my DSDT and other Extra folder files. I hope it help, and if anyone with more knowledge on DSDT edition can improve the file, please update here! Extra.zip
  8. Hello, everyone! I'd like to thank everyone who contributed in this thread. With help with the info here, I was able to make my Inspiron 7520 Hackintosh work almost flawlessly! Here's what I've got (in a dual boot MBR HD): 1. Keyboard with multimedia controls (VoodooPS2, brightness (Simple Brightness) and sound volume working. DIdn't test iTunes controls) 2. Trackpad (NO gesture, same VoodooPS2, detected as mouse) 3. Intel HD4000 working flawlessly (QE/CI), with the code posted above (thanks, oletorvmark!) No HDMI out, didn't test VGA. 4. Bluetooth seems to work OOB, but I couldn't make it locate my cell phone... There's probably some problem. 5. Battery with VoodooBattery, seems to work nice. 6. BinPatched AICPM, native power management works! Sleeps OK, SpeedStep seems to work, but I'm not completly sure it generates all the possible states (http://myhack.sojugarden.com/2012/08/my-new-hackintosh/). 7. USB 3.0 works via DSDT patch! (I didn't test the speed to actually check if it's working on 3.0, but it read my devices, anyway). 8. Ethernet seems to work, I installed lnx2mac kext and it's recognized. I didn't test it, though. (Thank rpriyana!) 9. Audio (mic in too!) via VoodooHDA and DSDT patch - it even auto recognizes the headphones! (http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=3202 - there's an modified AppleHDA there, but I couldn't get it to work) 10. Camera works OOB. Not working: 1. WiFi - I looked hard into this one. No results. 2. HDMI out - Tried some kext that should make it work, nothing, not even KP. Maybe DSDT patching? 3. Radeon - I didn't even bother after I got Intel to work. Maybe it would be good to deactivate it to make sure it won't steal any resources? 4. Card Reader - Tried AnyCR and VoodooSDHC... Nothing. 5. Elantech touchpad driver - no gestures, no fun. It's a pity, but at least we can use it as a pointer device. Well, I guess that's it. Thanks again!
