    Half-Life 2/Source Engine with 2289

    I did... and it doesn't - I posted what terminal spits out in my previous post. But here is the Info.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key> <string>English</string> <key>CFBundleExecutable</key> <string>launcher</string> <key>CFBundleGetInfoString</key> <string>Game Name v1.00</string> <key>CFBundleIconFile</key> <string>Game</string> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.transgaming.game</string> <key>CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion</key> <string>1.0</string> <key>CFBundleName</key> <string>Game Name</string> <key>CFBundlePackageType</key> <string>APPL</string> <key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key> <string>5.3 Mac</string> <key>CFBundleSignature</key> <string>GMN</string> <key>CFBundleVersion</key> <string>1</string> <key>CedegaGameDir</key> <string>C:\Half-Life 2\</string> <key>CedegaGameName</key> <string>C:\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe</string> <key>CiderBuild</key> <string>2178</string> <key>LSMinimumSystemVersion</key> <string>10.5.6</string> <key>NSMainNibFile</key> <string>game-launcher</string> <key>NSPrincipalClass</key> <string>tgApplication</string> <key>PrefsFolderName</key> <string>HL2E1</string> <key>apPostURL</key> <string>http://ibrain.com.ua</string> <key>apURL</key> <string>http://ibrain.com.ua/game</string> </dict> </plist>

Just an update: I get the same error with 2178...
  4. From my understanding this new cider version should allow HL2 to work with all the eye candy so I tried to get it working and... it doesn't seem to be working at all! I even edited the Games.ini file. EDIT: I tried removing Valve.avi but it still crashes I'm getting the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error... but HL2 worked fine with prior versions of cider

    The Cider Wrapper Library

Well I've tried the KotOR cider and unfortunatelly it does the same thing as my previous attempts at making the game work - on my iMac the upper left quarter of the screen is stretched over the entire display (like I used the OS X built-in zoom, except I didn't do that). This makes the game totally unplayable.

    Executable flags

And that's not working? Hmm try deleting this: [AppDefaults\\ET.exe\\transgaming] "Disable" = "Y" Also, this might be a stupid question but is ET.exe the name of your application? Lastly, be sure to delete the app's preferences before running it again.

    Tribes 2 Cider Port.

    I explained that over here.
  8. Sh33m4

    Which would you like..?

Wow... that's s lot of work there dude... respect Oh and if I may.. could you try to port something from the Gothic series? I keep hitting a brick wall there...

    Cider 1430

I've had this problem with Half-Life 2 but that's the same engine so the solution should be the same: You need to find two files: ClientScheme.res and SourceScheme.res (for Half-Life 2 they were in hl2 > Resource... not sure about CS: Source but you should find them). Inside both of these files you have to find the section that looks something like this: { "name" "Courier New" "tall" "10" "weight" "500" "antialias" "1" } There are lots of segments like this but some of them are missing the "antialias" "1" bit. I'm not exactly sure to which parts you need to add this so I just added it to all the fonts... and the silly red stuff was gone... It was quite similar for CS 1.6 but I don't remember which .res files you have to edit there...The ClientScheme.res shold be the same and instead of SourceScheme.res there was a different file... I'd say it was in Platform > resource > TrackerScheme.res

    Executable flags

@slacker25: Did you try my suggestions? More importantly, did they work?

    Executable flags

Hmm now that I think about it, I don't believe the -steam flag has to be there at all. It's not like I got steam working.. I just copied some of the flags from some other HL2 release... sorry I can't help with that.

    Executable flags

Inside the Cider wrapper navigate to Contents > Resources > Preferences > Config Open Config in your text editor of choice. Go to the very bottom of the file and you should see something like this: [AppDefaults\\eReg.exe\\transgaming] "Disable" = "Y" Copy these two lines, then change "eReg.exe" to the name of your executable. Next change the "Disable" to "cmdlineadd" and instead of the "Y" put in your flags. Here's an example of my HL2 - Episode Two Cider: [appdefaults\\hl2.exe\\transgaming] "cmdlineadd" = "-novid -steam -game ep2 -dxlevel 81" Note that you will have to trash the preferences of your application in youraccountname/Library/Preferences for this to work. Hope that helps. EDIT: If you are using the new CoH 2060 Cider, there's an easier option. Just go to Contents > Info.plist and find this: <key>CiderGameOptions</key> <string>-- cohupdater.exe -test</string> Change the "cohupdater.exe" to the name of your executable and then write your flags (like the -test above). Again, this is what HL2 - Episode Two would look like: <key>CiderGameOptions</key> <string>-- hl2.exe -novid -steam -game ep2 -dxlevel 81</string>

[STW] City of Heros Cider wrapper 2097

I'd like to know that too... And if it is true, what do we have to do to enable it?
  14. Hi everybody, here's my little problem: I've managed to get CS 1.6 almost working, but there's one thing remaining - whenever i press 3 (default for switching to the knife) in-game, it crashes. I have traced the problem to my keyboard layout. It seems cider tries to use the same layout that Mac OS X uses, which in my case is Czech. If I switch to U.S. the problem goes away and I can play normally. This happens on any post-1340 version of cider. When I tried the 1340 version the problem was gone (it seemed to be using the default layout instead of the same one as OS X) but I could only play at 800x500 resolution. So it seems I have to choose between not using the 3 key or playing at {censored} resolution. I don't find either of that acceptable. I have tried to copy the directx dlls from the frameworks folder of newer versions into the 1340 cider but that didn't fix anything. Could you guys help me with this?
