  1. Hey Pooky MacMan, been trying to follow along, I've gotten through the first part, got my bytes flipped, however VoodooHDA only seems to be picking up HDMI, also sounds like sound is coming from the mic as there's a hellalous noise coming from it which is partly what I want to fix. The other part is this Laptop has 2.1 audio, but I can only use the 2 internal speakers or the subwoofer indecently from each other . If you get a sec to look through my files think you can help me out and tell me where I screwed up at? codecdump1.txt PinConfigOverrideVerbs.txt Linux_codec_dump.txt
  2. Hey PookyMacMac, I was wondering if you could help me with my audio, I have an Asus G73jh laptop, it uses ALC269 codec and has 2.1 audio. I'm running Lion 10.7.3 I know this is the Snow Leopard forum, but this seems to be where I might be able to get this working. Mac sees all three speakers, with voodoohda 0.2.1 however the main speakers show as one device, and the sub shows as a third. I want to be able to have all three work at the same time. I've uploaded my Linux codec dump, VoodooHDA codec dump and my PinoutConfig from windows. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated Linux_codec_dump.txt VoodooHDA-codecdump.txt PinConfigOverrider.txt

    BadAxe2 Install problem

BJ Moose Is king Badaxe2 around here, almost every problem I've encountered, he's already had a solution for, so I agree with him. I know from personal experience, I have an IDE dvd writer, and I've tried just about all distros available (well most of them) I've never found one that I couldn't install. So it does sound like shotty media, I've found with Verbatim, never have a problem, just burn at slowest speed possible

    Script for sfx strings

ok so i've already have an EFI string in my boot.plist for my graphics card, I modified the .sh file to get the additional .plist that this script spits out, so how do i get a hex dump for both my graphics card and my audio? I'm sure everything i need is right in front of my face, I'm just missing the next step or whatever lol. Thanks! EDIT: Nevermind figured it. DOH! Thanks for this script, works great!

iSight 64Bit drivers for Vista running on a Hackintosh

As long as you have the actual Vista installer file, this page could work for you: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=228741

    Airport won't turn on

I have that same card, works perfectly for me!! What I did, using one of the tutorials on here (can't remember link off-hand) I used the IO80211Family.kext from the 10.4.8 Apple Update, modified the Atheros5424.kext plugin inside it to use only the cards dev and Id, installed, set permissions, works perfectly, no need to use diagnostics and automatically connects on startup/restart

    Building new system, Recommendations?

I may be a little biased here, but I love my d975xbx2 Bad axe 2 board. it'll use all those other components you've listed, you'd just need to buy a wireless card. It's straightforward and relatively simple to setup. Just my opinion
  8. My Netgear WG311T works perfectly under my system, just had to modify the Tiger 10.4.8 IO80211Family kext's Atheros plugin .plist to only display my card's id. It automatically connects on restart, menu icon works, and the on/off button is fully functional under Networks Control Panel
  9. what about system profiler? under the diagnostics section it says passed, and then lists a couple details. Or maybe i'm way off here, seems to me if memory serves me, it didn't give any info there at all without EFI.

    Atheros Wireless

hmm that's weird, mine fired right up, i've used that same kext for a couple different installs. i did notice on the latest install, it didn't work right away, i was setting up the system for GUID, gave me all sorts of troubles. After everything was installed, the kext worked as it had on past installs after a couple boots.

BadAxe2 with GUID and EFI Tutorial

BJMoose- Just wanted to say thanks to you and everyone else here for your help. It took me a few hours to get my GUID partitioned HDD up and running, but like you said once you get the partition set to active, it's easy from there. Thanks again!!

    Atheros Wireless

noodpope- i have that same network card, use this kext instead: just install through terminal, set permissions, and you're good to go. Menu bar icon works correctly, and Leopard automatically starts network as it should on startup IO80211Family.kext.zip
  13. Athenos- I've had a couple different versions of Leopard on my computer, I've got the same board you have. The last install I did, I found and used this tutorial: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...4&hl=badaxe It worked very well for me, hope it'll help you
