    Acer Aspire 5610Z Installation Tutorial

Well sleep actually works its waking that is the problem. I suspect if you remove the the wifi card it would probably resume correctly.

    Acer Aspire 5610Z Installation Tutorial

Good Post. I'll just add a few things. I don't think you require TAPE METHOD, I have the 4311 as well, however I suggest trying http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=81036%20%20" target="_blank"> http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=81036 Specifically you require the IOPCIFAMILY.kext included with chunnan's PCMCIA cardbus drivers. I'm including the AppleHDA.kext that is patched using targua patcher for the sound card with working outputs. EFI string, use either chameleon or the netkas pc_efi v9. I also included the patched dsdt, fixes most problems, includes modifications for applebacklight references. For sleep issues it will sleep with SuperHai's corrected USB sleep kext (EHCI), however it will not wake properly, most likely a problem with wireless pci-e not sleeping correctly, remains on in sleep mode, normally it should be off, any modifications would be appreciated to get that part working. DSDT is compatible with 3690 series, 5610, 5630, and possibly other 56XX series based on the same bios. Acer uses the same bios for different variants of the same motherboard thus it's compatible with the Nvidia GPU'ed versions specifically 5630. EFI String contains the ethernet fix for time machine, gma950 detection, and sound card detection in conjunction with included applehda (does not require azaliapatch kext) cf01000001000000030000003f0000000100000002010c00d041030a0000000001010600001e0101 60000017fff0400160000006200750069006c0074002d0069006e000000050000000161000000020 000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff0400100000006d006f00640065006c000000 b000000474d4120393530200000004100410050004c002c00480061007300500061006e0065006c0 00000800000001000000230100000700000002010c00d041030a0000000001010600001b7fff0400 c0000007200650076006900730069006f006e002d006900640000000800000002000000280000005 0069006e0043006f006e00660069006700750072006100740069006f006e00730000000400000018 00000760065006e0064006f0072002d0069006400000008000000868000002c00000073007500620 730079007300740065006d002d00760065006e0064006f0072002d00690064000000080000002510 0001e000000730075006200730079007300740065006d002d0069006400000008000000900000001 0000006c00610079006f00750074002d00690064000000080000000c000000160000006200750069 06c0074002d0069006e0000000500000000 Hope this will be beneficial to other users. ›› Voodoo XNU Kernel is now Released

Which previous version? Is it turned on in Beta2c or the release candidate. And do we need a bootflag to enable?
  4. Hi Mercurysquad tried it with my P4 rig and I had the following problem. Kernel Panics on P4 2.4b Northwood. It's on a P4i65G uses that ICH5 Chipset, and it is overclocked. Worked on beta 2c with custom busratio and fsb boot flag. Things noted and tried: - correct detection of fsb and busratio - legacy bootflag incase for some reason it tried running in 64bit - manual setting of fsb and busratio - removed intelcpupowermanagement.kext had a disabler but removed just to be sure. Attatched the KP screenshot.

    DSDT Patcher

the CPU PM kext is Apple's version of speedstep I believe, and it does throttle cpu, you can actually confirm this with superhai power management additions, by watching the application, not being able to throttle your cpu to your maximum cpu freq. So either you disable it, or you can try messing around with the power management for pstates, or you have to edit the pstates in your dsdt. Any of those are a possibility. I hope this clears that up.

    Chameleon with DSDT override

Thanks mackerintel for adding DSDT patching. Fixed my acer 5610z it can SLEEP, however it will not resume, such that it will attempt to wake, and it will initialize the system and get no where. Anyway i have uploaded the corrected dsl and aml. Also another note if you guys get cpu thermal threshold signal must sleep in verbose remove all thermal kexts it will prevent your system from sleeping on boot. corrected_5610z_dsdt.zip

Voodoo Kernel BETA 2 - Available now

Used on a P4 2.4b Northwood has the same problem as Beta1 it cannot detect the proper TSC and busratio. Had to manually add busratio=18 and fsb=133000000. It sets it as busratio=1 and fsb=100, which is incorrect ofcourse. Other then that it boots just fine.
