1. HP EliteBook 8530w - OSx86 Installation

So it turns out I needed to boot into the 32 bit kernel but the problems never stop. Does anyone have their headphone port working?
2. HP EliteBook 8530w - OSx86 Installation

So I was finally able to get the hazard disk to work. From their forums I discovered that you had to delete a kext:\ 1. Download the Extra and kexts package provided by Mianos here: http://dievolksvertreter.de/downloads/E ... wKexty.zip Save the zip file on a USB key (formated as FAT - readable in Mac OS) 2. Get Hazard ISO of Mac OS Snow (the one we are talking about on this forum) 3. Install it with this: - basic install + - Update 10.6.2 Combo + - Chameleon V2 RC3 10.5 (works also with 10.3) - VoodooHDA That's it. You can try adding other stuffs if needed. It wasn't necessary for me. 4. After install, if you reboot normally you will get a Kernel panic So when you have the "Chameleon" screen, press any key You enter the options mode type " -x " and then enter (you specify that you are booting in safe mode) Rem: whatever install you do with Hazard ISO, it will boot in safe mode. 5. You enter Mac OS Snow in safe mode. Now remove the file: rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext 6. With OSX86 Tools Update cache mkext, etc. (Actually, I sounds like this step is not mandatory) 7. Insert your USB Key and copy the folder Extra (on your USB key) to the root of your Mac OS installation (/). The com.apple.Boot.plist contains the right String for the graphic card nVidia FX 770 M (512 Mb). don't forget to put it in the folder /Extra 8. Reboot normally now You should have a clean working Mac OS Snow. Good luck and enjoy Espe Now I cannot get audio working at all. Was wondering if anyone could help. System Profiler reports that I have an Intel High Definition Audio with a device ID: 0x103C30E7. Thanks. So it turns out the kernel extensions that I had weren't 64 bit, which explains why when I boot into 32 bit mode I got sound.
3. HP EliteBook 8530w - OSx86 Installation

So a friend of mine and myself have been attempting to get snow leopard working on our elitebooks for two weeks now with no success. We always get kernel panics. He has used a method I am not familiar with that requires restoring the snow leopard retail disk to a flash drive and editing files on the drive. I just tried the hazard disk that the above user has mentioned, with the exact same items checked off and I still got a kernel panic. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction. BTW iPC 10.5.6 with the additional installs mentioned on the first page in this thread have worked for me. Thanks in advanced.
4. Making Leopard look like tiger

I've been looking all over for the images for the Tiger Menu Bar. Would it be possible for you to post them here GeekOfComputers? Thanks in advanced though that looks sick.
5. Hey, To my surprise, I came across this program called iLeopard 2 that modifies the SArtFile to give it a "more iTunes 7 look and feel." I have installed it and I am extremely pleased with the result. If you ask me, it actually gives Leopard the GUI that it should have had. After using this modified GUI, I think apple made a mistake trying to stick with the Tiger Aqua look. http://www.ileopard2.co.cc/
6. osx86 on the msi wind

I believe it is possible to restore the iso onto a thumbdrive (especially easy if you have access to disk utility). However, either just grab an external DVD drive or grab an existing internal DVD drive and an IDE-USB converter (This is what I usually do).
7. Acer Aspire 3000

Hey, So I have been trying for an epic long time to get Mac OS X 86 on my friend's Acer Aspire 3000. I got really close once with the Leo4All V2 install disk but got that waiting for root device error as well. To get around that I hooked up an external DVD drive to the computer and was able to pull up the GUI for the install. However, it lagged during the install. Hope this helps you out though.
8. Modifying the Top Menu Bar

If you somehow edit the SArtFile.bin in the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreUI.Framework/Resources/SArtFile.bin, you can change the menubar. However, I have had no success. Ofcourse, before you edit the bin file, you need to decode it. To decode it search the macthemes2.net forums and wiki.
9. Thanks for that tip The Jiv. I will check that out later. Fortunately I have access to a Tiger machine.
10. OSX 10.4.8 on a dell latitude d505

Go into your bios and bump up the video ram from 1 MB to 8 MB and that should work great. It did for me atleast.
11. Dell Dimension 2400 video help

I had a grayscale problem on a Dell Laptop. After hours of searching, I found the problem was in the bios with the Video Ram. Go into your dell's bios and look for somewhere where you can change the video ram. Bump it up as much as it can go. Hopefully this helps, but I have no idea as this had worked for me on a Dell Laptop, not an Dimension 2400.
12. I apologize for not being clearer. And again, if I could get the menu bar back to the gradient, tiger like menu bar that would be greatly appreciated.
13. Greetings, I love the new features of leopard, but I hate the GUI. It is so awful that I was wondering if I could change the window buttons of finder so that they appear as though they are from Tiger. I have been looking around myself, but I cannot navigate the files well enough to determine if the buttons are a png or if they cannot be changed. While I am at it, is there any way I can get the menu bar back to the tiger gradient menu bar? Thanks in advance.
