  1. Is it possible to install kexts to a different volume (in the case where there are multiple volumes with OS X in single machine) and also repair permission on that volume? Currently, I think the workflow is Install kexts manually then boot into Clover and rebuild kext cache? Thankyou
  2. Clover General discussion

Update: restoring Clover from backup to EFI worked and boot from EFI restored. Thanks!
  3. Clover General discussion

Is it possible to Restore Clover on the EFI partition using one of the backups from previous installs? If so what is the process? Thanks

Sorry - not sure what you mean - it is the config.plist from my main SSD 'Intrepid'. Becuase it's not booting after latest clover update - I have to boot with a Yosemite installer usb that I made a while ago. I recreated the confg.plist from Clover Configurator - and made sure it was from the correct EFI partition. Thanks for all your help config.plist.zip

ok - here it is, deleted smbios and MLB/ROM. Yes, the hardware is old but still good I'm using an old usb stick that was a Yosemite installer to boot the machine because the EFI bootloader (Clover 3998) is broken. config.plist.zip

Yes, I tried 3998 + fix - but didn't work. Have just downgraded to v3882 - will reboot and test. Should I delete nvram.plist from EFI? Edit: downgrading to 3882 didn't help.

I'm stuck in a boot loop - after updating to latest Clover 3998 and trying Sherlock's fix. Then I downgraded to 3994 + Sherlock's fix and now 3974. I've also deleted nvram.plist and reset nvram via Terminal. The machine (see my Sig for specs) will boot from a Clover boot usb running v2953. Note: the machine has 2 bootable SSD's runing macOS 10.2 using Clover and 2 HDD's - 1 for storage and the other running Win 10. Attached Clover debug.log debug.log.zip
  8. I've got this issue (CMOS reset) on an older hackintosh too (see my Sig for specs). I've replaced the CMOS battery - but no change. I'm running Clover v2.3k_r3994 I've got original Apple RTC in S/L/E and Patched 10.7 AppleRTC in EFI/kexts/10.12 folder and patched Apple RTC in Clover config.plist. I've tried removing the kext from the EFI partition - result → boot loop. Same result with unchecking the Clover patch. Interestingly - I have an old install Yosemite usb with Clover 2953 - which successfully boots up the machine. Currently - the machine goes into a boot loop after resetting everything back to how it was - and is only booting from the usb. I'm installing latest Clover updat 3998. Will report back.

Awesome! Thankyou - works great Design-wise - would you consider using or giving users a Preference option for a black and white menubar icon eg something from here?

[solved] I made a Clover boot usb and set that as first Boot Option in BIOS. This enabled me to boot into my backup OS X drive and have the unusable main drive turned on in BIOS. Then in OS X on the backup drive, I used Clover Configurator to mount EFI partition of the main drive and fix the config.plist. I also removed CsmVideoDxe-64.efi from Drivers64UEFI which may have produced persistent booting to black screen issues on my Hackintosh (see my Sig for specs). Is there a way to edit the config.plist from Clover's boot manager options? Or is keeping a Clover boot usb handy the best option for tweaking and troubleshooting config.plist?
  11. Clover General discussion

Thanks, but using this from Elevated Cmd Prompt gives 'The parameter is incorrect.' error?
  12. Clover General discussion

I've got the black screen problem after updating to latest Clover and changing config.plist parameter in video > inject ATI <true>. My computer has 4 internal drives - 3 running OS X and 1 running Win 10. The config.plist is set to boot from the Main drive 'a' and the only way I've found so far to mount the other OS X volumes is to turn off the Main drive in BIOS. The Win 10 drive boots ok, but I haven't found a way to mount EFI partition from WIndows. I have also tried making and booting from Linux Live USB - running Slax but it wasn't able to mount HFS drives Any suggestions welcome. Can I make a Clover boot usb with just Clover to access the drives? Thanks
  13. 10.9.2 on Optiplex 755

@RogerMac - thanks for detailed post dude, it's appreciated! re: DSDT - did you also use SSDT? Cheers..
  14. 10.9.2 on Optiplex 755

Interestingly, I haven't been using NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in my 10.8.5 and 10.9.1 installs on the rig. An Optiplex 745 owner here has got 10.9.2 working with another GPU - Nvidia 8400GS 256mb And see post #6 here for description of setup and Extra folder. Also , unlike me, he's using a DSDT.

OK, thanks everyone for suggestions. Replaced FakeSMC.kext containing HWMonitor plugins with Slice's latest FakeSMC.kext (version 3.3.1). Still get KP listing the same kexts as in screenshot in post #3. But the msg about unsupported chip has gone.
