  1. Hi, Just a heads up. After some fiddling around, it seems there was an issue in the August 2018 Lilu.kext that prevented it from recognising HDEF devices. Lilu.ketxt from September 2018 works well.

Two video cards , need to disable one

I wasn't able to disable either of the video cards no matter what I did. I tried installing Nvidia Web Drivers and seems that the system is now booting fine. There seem to be some incompatibilities with the native support for the GTX 760 and the existence of other GPU adapters on the system.
  3. So I got this working for me: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/327022-nvidia-oob-for-2-x-4k-60hz-displays/ Everything worked fine with both cards until last month when I scratched my GTX 760 ITX and had to buy a new. Today my new GTX 760 ITX arrived and I installed it, but my system no longer boots into macOS. The only way to get it to boot is if I completely remove from the slot the GTX 1080. I tried just removing its power cables but still MacOS won't boot. Everything is fine as long as the GTX 1080 is not present in the system. If it is I get this error: IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0 H000-A newUserClient failed: 0xe00002cd Any ideas? Thank you Edit: I think the issue might be related to the PCI order. Though I don't remember changing it. I get: GeForceSensors (pci2): VBIOS successfully read from PROM GeForceSensors (pci2): chipset: GP104 (NV134) bios GeForceSensors (pci2): started GeForceSensors (pci4): VBIOS successfully read from PROM GeForceSensors (pci4): chipset: GK104 (NVE4) bios 8-.04ea00 GeForceSensors (pci4): started
  4. I am on High Sierra too and everything seems to be working fine for me. I would suspect it's something in your Clover settings.
  5. Yes it will. It has the same GK104 chipset as the GTX 760. Careful with the SMBios though, I've tried with 16,1 initially and the video card did work well with that one, works well with 14,2 and possibly with 6,1 , haven't tried any other. Have you set these BIOS options? EHCI hands-off Enabled XHCI hands-off Enabled BOOT settings set to Other OS , UEFI only
  6. This Tool is much better! It works correctly on 5.1 Surround , Front Headphones, Fake Surround, Default. Changes from Front Microphone to Rear Microphone correctly. Haven't tested the Front Line-Out, C/Sub Line-Out and Rear Line-Out. Unfortunately if I set it to Front Microphone there is no input on that port. Just to add: Front Microphone doesn't seem to exist in Windows either. Which makes me believe it simply doesn't exist as an input port. could it be the case?
  7. Thank you! I did you ask suggested and without the CA0132 audioswitcher I get both headphones working and Lineout with Layout 6. RearMicrophone is also working. Front microphone isn't working though and the switch you provided doesn't seem to work. The application also breaks my headphone functionality if I set it to FakeSurround or any of the output options it provides. EDIT: A very important thing I have encountered, settings in BIOS for booting Windows 8/10 will give me no volume or output on any layouts . Settings it back to OtherOS gives my back sound functionality in macOS.
  8. This is the final version of Clover settings: - This is only for MacOS 10.13 - I am using the 6900K 8 core cpu so for a different CPU you will need to make the appropriate changes - note I am using GTX 760 video card, so you may need to remove the NVIDIA patch from the ACPI/patched folder. - you will need to run the appropriate patches and changes for your video card to work Please read this thread for how to adapt this Clover file to your video card and cpu, provided you use the same motherboard: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/the-perfect-customac-pro-macos-high-sierra-10-13-on-x99-full-success.227001/ Everything seems to be working fine except for the Front Sound Panel. Sound on the back ports is working fine. This is the final Clover file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3bdwwba4b5c4gto/EFI-v1final.zip
  9. Excellent good to know. Only layout 4 and 6 seems to work well for me. Layout 5 gives no output on any ports. Layout 6 gives: - Lineout - back, normal speakers working - Headphones - not working , no output on any port - Line out - no output on any port - Digital Out - unable to test - Microphone (only back) - working If you want I can give feedback on the other layouts as well. Front headphones and front microphone are not working. Not much of a hassle for me, since I plug in the headphones in my speakers , would have been nice to have front microphone and speakers working though.
  10. Thank you wern ! In the mean time I have done a lot more tinkering with Clover , since I suspected that the inability to boot with both HDEF and HDAU on, might be related to something else. So I added: - Drop DMAR table - DROP SSDT Cpu0lst table - DROP SSDT CpuPm table - some cpu kernel patches Now I enabled again the DSDT patch 414c5a41 to 48444546 + the Kernel patch you mentioned a08c to 208d , and this time everything worked! Yuhu! Afterwards I disabled the kernel patch a08c to 208d and the system still booted and sound is still on. Would there be any sound quality difference between having this kernel patch on and off? What would you think? Is there any way to check? Also I have this while booting: CodecCommander: no attempt to hook IOAudioDevice due to codec profile Disable flag. Any other tips that you might have are welcomed. Thank you!
  11. here it is: https://www.mediafire.com/file/4je78hsy6600hwm/EFI%20v3.zip Keep in mind I don't have Realtek Audio, but Creative and different GPU. My GPU has native MacOS support. I also use SMBIOS 14,1 not 6,1 . Hard to say. All back USB ports work but probably not as they should. The front USB ports I can't verify because I don't have the front panel connected. They are probably working not as they should because of this: The USB receivers are actually on USB 2.0 ports. https://www.mediafire.com/file/439m0efc2d3g1ym/Screen%20Shot%202017-10-01%20at%2010.47.09.png I initially only had the X99_Injector USB 3.kext and added the USBX99.kext later , but the later kext doesn't seem to make a difference. If you have any clue on these two kexts let me know. Right now I am looking for a fix for my Creative CA132 audio and maybe some other Gigabyte Specific SSDT/DSDT patched to improve system stability.
  12. After some work this is my current situation. Got HDMI sound working via https://github.com/toleda/audio_hdmi_amd-nvidia/tree/master/ssdt_hdmi-nvidia Problem is, if I try your patch for ALZAtoHDEF or Toleda's for ALZA to HDEF, the system hangs at boot indefinitely. Either patch won't get my audio card to be recognised by macOS unfortunately. Here is an example: https://www.tonymacx86.com/attachments/img_20170929_005838-jpg.281629/ I have two options to get the system to boot right now: - Not use any ALZAtoHDEF patch and use Toleda HDMI fix => HDMI sound working. - Use ALZAtoHDEF and not use HDMI patch => no audio device
  13. This is a continuation of the thread here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/310187-ga-x99-gaming-5p-10112-success-waterdragon/page-2 Current config: GA-X99-Gaming 5P - Atheros 2200e Network Card - Creative Core3D Sound Card (CA0132) Intel Core i7-6900K @ 3.7 Ghz 32 GB RAM - 2133 MHz N760 2GD5/OC ITX (MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760) GTX 1080 (not installed yet) 1x4K Dell display, 1x2K Dell Display , 1xFHD TV Lots of HDDs and SSDs BIOS settings: EHCI hands-off Enabled XHCI hands-off Enabled BOOT settings set to Other OS , UEFI only No DSDT installed. After a few days of tinkering around I've managed to get most stuff working. Things that still need tweaking: - shut down sometimes doesn't work fixed by using SMBIOS 14,2 - sound card is not working - fixed by installing DRAM and DSDT drop tables options in Clover Only issue so far: Front microphone port is not working. Got everything going fine for now. At the end will post my Clover EFI file.

    Clover General discussion

Hi, Here is my problem. I have a Gigabyte Gaming 5P with 6900K and GTX 760 with High Sierra. With the help of Toleda I've managed to get the HDMI to work (sort of). Problem is almost all of the time, when HDMI is enabled the system would hang indefinitely in boot with the message kextd stall[x] . Most of the issues with kextd stall seem to have been related to AppleACPIPlatform, but this is not my case. Please see this image: http://www.mediafire.com/view/i6yl2q16cc1zw7w/IMG_20170929_133925.jpg If I remove the Nvidia HDMI ssdt patch from Toleda or if I inject Nvidia HDMI, then the HDMI is no longer working but the system boots fine. I am out of ideas and I don't know who to turn to. Thank you! Attached Clover EFI folder: http://www.mediafire.com/file/jsf94fhkbbb3sd3/EFI-2.zip
  15. OK! So I also applied the patch you said but no difference. I have however used https://github.com/toleda/audio_ALCInjection/blob/master/ssdt_hdef/ssdt_hdef-1-x99-alza.zip And now the video card HDMI seems to be detected as HDEF , but it's still not listed under Sound Outputs. ApplecALC is where it should be. CommanderCodec is where you said it should be. Lilu.kext is also in Clover. I am out of ideas. I've linked here my current IOReg and my Clover EFI folder. Maybe I'm missing something. IOREG: http://www.mediafire.com/file/a88dds4e2ts0syp/iMac.ioreg EFI: http://www.mediafire.com/file/pnz1bemzkeiprib/EFI.zip To be honest, I would be more than happy to donate again if we could get this sound card to work. Thank you! I have linked here both my Clover EFI file and my current IOREG. Edit: this might also help: http://www.mediafire.com/view/ci8j95530is0ggu/Screen%20Shot%202017-09-28%20at%2022.16.52.png
