  1. I don't use that Clover function because I fix it in DSDT as mentioned above. Clover does something very similar but does it on the fly automatically at boot time. It does it by reading your system's DSDT and passing a modified version to OS X. You don't want to use both methods.
  2. You can paste the following code into MaciASL's patch window and apply to strip reserved IRQs from the PS2 keyboard and mouse (If you are not using PS2 in OS X). Then it gives and takes the other IRQs. I take a more modular approach now. I like to fix or add all the motherboard's devices VIA 1 SSDT. I use a separate SSDT for each PCI slot and 1 for the CPU. As of 10.11, I add 1 more for the USB2 fix in 10.11 because it (Not Stinga11's method) will cause bugs in 10.9-10.10. If you wan't to use 10.9-10.10, you just remove the SSDT for USB2. I use the DSDT only to strip out code that is un-needed by OS X and fix IRQ Assignment.   3. One more thing I noticed in your SSDT that might cause a conflict in Yosemite. One of your USB3 devices is given the name "EHC1" and a DSM method.

  6. Hello all, Thanks for the great work. I learned a lot digging into this subject. I just wanted to let ya'll know that I found a much easier way to get USB2 working for X79 in El Cap. Just delete EUSB and USBE or EHC1 and EHC2 devices from the DSDT or disable them with a SSDT: DefinitionBlock { External (_SB_.PCI0.USBE, DeviceObj) External (_SB_.PCI0.EUSB, DeviceObj) Scope (_SB.PCI0.EUSB) { Name (_STA, Zero) } Scope (_SB.PCI0.USBE) { Name (_STA, Zero) } } No kexts or plist edits needed. You can install as MacPro6,1 or whatever you want. This also seems to have cured USB drives being force ejected on wake. No love for the USB3 ports though as it seems they get all their properties from the chip's firmware and they can't be overridden by the ACPI tables.

    As I mentioned in the post above, clover can't be used for this one. Something is reading the info.plist from it's exact location. Clover injects the changes in the cache but does not modify the original file. I also tried making a dummy kext with the changed plist. The kext overides the loading of the original kext but the plist is still read from the original kext so it won't work either. If you want to use MacPro6,1 system definition, you'll have to patch the original kext. To be clear, the clover patching was successful as seen in bdmesg. You have to use something besides clover configurator to convert the values to base64 because clover configurator will automatically delete the spaces from the base64 conversion However, patching the info.plist via clover will not give you the desired result. Someone smarter than me will need to figure out a binary patch for whatever is reading the plist

    I had tried this as I do that with other kext plists but for some reason I can not get it to work with this one. The only thing that will work for me is patching the actual kext plist. I crated a perl script to do it easy but I would love a update proof solution. I'll post the dummy kext I tried when I get home maybe you can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I've been told that find and replace in clover plist patch is limited to strings of identical length so find "Config1" and replace with "none" can not work. I hope that the clover developers update this feature to work with replace any string with any other string regardless of size.

    I followed you example to make sure that it works because I have never had success with this feature. It did succeed in patching the plist for AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB. But...... I want to patch /System/Library/Extensions/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/Contents/Info.plist find: <key>Mac-F60DEB81FF30ACF6</key> <string>Config1</string> replace with: <key>Mac-F60DEB81FF30ACF6</key> <string>none</string> I entered: Name: AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy Find: <key>Mac-F60DEB81FF30ACF6</key><string>Config1</string> Replace: <key>Mac-F60DEB81FF30ACF6</key><string>none</string> Comment: MacPro6,1 GFX Fix I select the check box for "infoPlistPatch" and changed the "Type/Key?" to DATA. I still get this in bdmesg: KextToPatch 2: AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy (MacPro6,1 GFX Fix) Info.plist patch - invalid Find/Replace data - skipping! I think this feature is still broken for kexts inside of other kext's plugins folders. This might be something to work on. Thanks for all the great work so far!

    Thanks for the reply. I found bdmesg to be helpful for verifying if a patch was successful but I've found that the patch is not successful. It seem this feature doesn't really work. "KextToPatch 0: AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy (GraphicsDevicePolicyFix) Info.plist patch - invalid Find/Replace data - skipping!" Is the result no matter what you search for.

  19. Thanks, I was hoping for an explanation of what the boot arguments listed in the OP do (in noob language). I get force ejected USB 3.0 drives on wake and if I knew what the arguments did, I could better asses if they should help this issue. Thanks again.

    Tool to remove Apple Code Signatures from binaries

    I added your tool to a applescript app I created that patches the OpenCL framework and prevents GPUs from using OpenCL. May I have your permission to share this app with others?     <key>NVidia</key> <true/> Allows me to boot after switching ports or monitors. Strange because GraphicsEnabler=No works in chameleon with my cards.
