Comunque puoi provare: Reset BIOS to default blindly If that doesn't work, then lets try to reset the BIOS to defaults blindly. Follow the following procedure. 1. Turn computer on 2. Immediately keep pressing F2 non-stop for about 4 seconds 3. Press F9. Hit Enter key. 4. Press F10. Hit Enter key. 5. The computer restarts and you should be good to go
3. Could somebody please fix errors in my system dsdt and patch for hdmi (actually diplayport) audio? Thanks! System DSDT.dsl.zip
If that doesn't work, then lets try to reset the BIOS to defaults blindly. Follow the following procedure. 1. Turn computer on 2. Immediately keep pressing F2 non-stop for about 4 seconds 3. Press F9. Hit Enter key. 4. Press F10. Hit Enter key. 5. The computer restarts and you should be good to go
I finally managed to unlock some BIOS options. http://i.imgur.com/3TBTgyc.jpg BUT using "Others" option is just disabling HD4000 and enabling 650M only working with hdmi port video out, no lcd output. Another kind user of this forum was telling me that there's no physical connection from 650m to lcd but just through hd4000. So if anyone can explain how to unhide the "Chipset/Graphic" section I will try if just a bios edit will drive me to another step. Meanwhile, digging in early linux efforts to use Optimus on linux I found this page: https://github.com/a...sus-switcheroo/ It's about 100 lines of code. Maybe someone could create a module for Chameleon or Clover? One last thing from Wikipedia: Operation without a device driver[edit] When no software mechanism exists for switching between graphics adapters, the system cannot use the NVIDIA GPU at all, even if an installed graphics driver would support it.[8] Some older computers contain a BIOS setting to manually select the state of the hardware multiplexer to switch output between the two video devices. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ***However, this setting is no longer part of the Optimus platform.*** +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ So the famous "mux" chip is no longer present or supported? Source code for Linux Noveau is here. Applies to the cards also listed here. Maybe the solution lies around here.http://nouveau.freed...nvc0familyfermi
Solo cercare con google: FPTKIT64.zip agevolo link testato e funzionante: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pglx6p segui il secondo step della guida zenbook: °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° Extract it to C:\ Open a Command Line in Administrator Mode and enter this: FPTW64.EXE -BIOS -D BACKUP.ROM This tool with the command above will create a BACKUP of your current bios. Make sure you SAVE A COPY of the backup.rom safe somewhere in case you need to go back to stock. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° edita una copia del bios estratto con amibcp 4.35 che si trova nella guida testato da me: http://www.sendspace.com/file/pz9fzf nota bene che: °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° You want to change the Access/USE column ONLY. If you mess around with anything else in here, you are on your OWN! °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° poi: Once you are done this save this Rom as MOD.ROM infine la parte finale: Now to flash your modded bios. Make sure the file sizes of your backup and MOD are the same if so go forward. if not DO NOT. Open a Command Line in Administrator Mode and enter this: FPTW64.EXE -BIOS -F MOD.ROM Once it completes restart your pc. Once it comes back to windows do a shutdown and pull out your power cable. Wait 10-15 seconds and then start it up and boot into your bios. All the settings you enabled will be there for you!
11. Nella speranza che qualcuno sappia cosa fare: I got an Asus n56vz laptop. I found this on an italian linux forum: Because Hybrid VGA driver is only available for Windows 7/Vista, it should select Others to activate external VGA to get better performance at other operation system I discover some interesting hidden options with amibcp 4.35 that could work In Advanced change: (0897) Boot VGA Controller Selection For from Windows7/Vista to Others In Chipset/Graphic Configuration change: (04B6) Primary Display from SG to PEG (03BA) Internal Graphics disabled So I follow some parts of this guide for another model of Asus laptop here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/707826-asus-zenbook-bios-firmware-modding-thread.html I finally managed to unlock some BIOS options. http://i.imgur.com/3TBTgyc.jpg BUT using "Others" option is just disabling HD4000 and enabling 650M only working with hdmi port video out, no lcd output.
