    SIPUtility.app

I guess what I should be asking is what is actually mandatory for a hack to run. I know I'll need the Kexts one but do I need the others? What situation would arise where I do need these other options.

    SIPUtility.app

Is there any documentation anywhere about what each of these options actually do and why they would have to be allowed? Some are self explanatory but I'm wanting to see what settings would be best for a fully secure system but allowing me edit a couple system kexts for device IDs then make it all secure again.

SuperVIAATA 1.0.3 AnV for Mountain Lion

with the old one i was using before removing it i was getting insane amounts of KPs. has this been tested over a period of time or used to transfer very large files where my problems occurred? I would like to give you a big thanks though its always nice to have all the hardware in my Hack working fluidly

it ried what you just recommended and removed my 0x00,0xe0,0x06, //90 Main Brightness Up 0x00,0xe0,0x05, //91 Main Brightness Down lines from the file and still only getting dells brightness adjustment on here maybe i have an issue with my dsdt which i dont think i do but here it is just in case Device (PNLF) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("APP0002")) Name (_CID, "backlight") Name (_UID, 0x0A) Name (_STA, 0x0B) Name (BTVL, 0x64) Name (DBCL, Package (0x0A) {}) Method (_BCL, 0, NotSerialized) { SX10 () SX30 (0x19) SX30 (Zero) SX11 () Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, Zero)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, One)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, 0x02)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, 0x03)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, 0x04)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, 0x05)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, 0x06)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, 0x07)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, 0x08)) Store (SX40 (), Index (DBCL, 0x09)) SX12 () Return (DBCL) } Method (_BCM, 1, NotSerialized) { SX10 () SX30 (0x19) SX30 (One) SX30 (Arg0) Store (Arg0, BTVL) SX11 () SX12 () } Method (_BQC, 0, NotSerialized) { SX10 () SX30 (0x19) SX30 (0x02) SX11 () Store (SX40 (), Local0) Store (Local0, BTVL) SX12 () Return (Local0) } } really confused as to why remapping the keys wont override dells default brightness adjustment which btw works independently of the slider in displays

this is what i currently have in mine VoodooPS2Keyboard.cpp 0x00,0xe0,0x06, //90 Main Brightness Up 0x00,0xe0,0x05, //91 Main Brightness Down ..... NX_KEYTYPE_BRIGHTNESS_UP, 0x90, // brightness up NX_KEYTYPE_BRIGHTNESS_DOWN, 0x91 // brightness down ApplePS2ToADBMap.h 0x91, // e0 05 fn+down to brightness down 0x90, // e0 06 fn+up to brightness up I assume that was correct to do or am i missing something what was stated in the code is the default voodoo mapping it has from when i was getting the scancodes

    UPDATED 20.12. GenericBrightness.kext

ok so the new files almost fixed my issues with up and down keys if i reboot i can up the brightness but if i go down its like it locks in and goes to 0 currently the way its working for me is on the Pause key with or without Fn and the Num Lk only with Fn pressed tried remapping the keys with voodoo ps2 and didnt change anything. brightness worked before on up and down but not native brightness. here is my current layout and where they are mapped in voodooPS2: up arrow ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe0 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x48 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x7e down ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe0 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xc8 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x7e up with fn ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe0 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x6 ApplePS2Keyboard: Unknown ADB key for PS2 scancode: 0x6 down arrow ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe0 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x50 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x7d down ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe0 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xd0 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x7d up with fn ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe0 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x5 ApplePS2Keyboard: Unknown ADB key for PS2 scancode: 0x5 pause ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe1 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x1d ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x45 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x71 down ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe1 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x9d ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xc5 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x71 up <-- Mapped to F15 and pause (brightness up) with fn ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe1 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x1d ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x45 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x71 down ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xe1 ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x9d ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xc5 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x71 up <-- Mapped to F15 and pause (brightness up) numlk ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x45 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x47 down ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xc5 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x47 up <-- Mapped to Num Lock with fn ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0x46 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x6b down ApplePS2Keyboard: PS/2 scancode 0xc6 ApplePS2Keyboard: ADB key code 0x6b up <-- Mapped to Scroll Lock (brightness down) it seems as 71 is brightness up and 6b is going to brightness down sort of confused as to where to go at this point seems more of a voodoo issue not on your driver all of that is working perfectly for me
