  4. Well, after many weeks of trying to perfect this process, I have created a second and third set of icons for OpenCanopy I call CircleBlobIcon and CircleBlobText. I take a very different approach to icons. You can find them here: https://github.com/pkdesign/OpenCanopyIcons Many, many thanks to @chris1111 for his incredible batch script!

  5. Summary: The kernel panic of "Unsupported ICL SKU" and the further page fault in `IGAccelTask::withOptions()` after SKU is fixed are indeed caused by the DVMT pre-allocated memory set to 60M (or any other values that are not a multiple of 32MB) in BIOS. If you are not able to modify your BIOS settings via EFI shell or RU.EFI, you need the `-igfxdvmt` boot argument to enable the fix. Please note that the boot argument `-igfxsku` has been removed. You could find the source code at my repo. (https://github.com/0xFireWolf/WhateverGreen) Refer to the manual for details. I have also submitted a PR to the upstream repo, and I am waiting for it to be merged. (https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/pull/64)

Please read me: Ever since macOS Mojave came out (I mean the first DP) Apple removed the support for Atheros based WiFi Adapters from the IO80211Family.kext, so to fix it we need to add the AirPortAtheros40.kext to the Extensions manually. After each clean install the AirPortAtheros40.kext needs to be installed and after clean installing Mojave DPs after few times I decides to create this app to save some time. How to use it: This application will install the missing AirPortAtheros40.kext into /System/Library/Extensions and after the installation is done and once you reboot your computer the Atheros based WiFi adapters will be enabled. The installation is the first step of the process and it is fast but the next steps which are repairing the permission on /System/Library/Extensions and rebuilding the system caches might take a while so please wait until you were asked to reboot your computer. I'm using a TP-Link WDN4800 with an Atheros chipset and it works on other similar hardware. If this app helped you please consider donating; any amount is appreciated.

  7. Yes, as it should be. Apple stopped using GFX0/iGPU naming scheme back in 2013.

  8. Apple.icns for macOS HardDrive.icns for all, if no other icons. (This icon shall be present surely. It is used for everything that isn't defined specially.)

  9. Mojave, Catalina AND Big Sur are NOT supported on Q9300 officially by Apple. You have to make sure that you have made the correct "workarounds". Eg. Install the Telemetrytrap kext or Mousse kext if you are using AMD graphics.

  10. Opencore is a bootloader who can boot several macOS version. Apple specifies that macOS Big Sur runs on these Macs: MacBook (2015 and later) MacBook Air (2013 and later) MacBook Pro (Late 2013 and later) iMac Pro (2017 and later) iMac (2014 and later) --> at least Haswell Mac mini (2014 and later) Mac Pro (2013 and later) --> at least Core Xeon W Your HP corresponds to an Imac 2008-2009. Have a look to macrumors site for Unsupported Mac by Big Sur instructions. Old system patched Sorry for my bad English.

  18. The boot-args are documented (but only briefly) at https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen I think most of them could use a little more detail. For igfxonlnfbs, you also need igfxonln=1 (this is not clearly stated in the doc). igfxonlnfbs has the same format as igfxfcmsfbs .

  23. [SOLVED] I had to reinstall macOs since I tried every possible solution. I actually learned about OpenCore and read everything related to it. I am glad I did. Thanks to https://github.com/xxxzc/xps15-9550-macos/releases and @golimpio Good afternoon everyone. I am facing the following issue on 10.14 Mojave. Clover version 40... 48.. and latest one DOES'NT not display the Mojave apfs partition when booting it. I havent used this Mojave since december 2019 and the last time I used it I remember updating to the latest CLOVER. Now that I tried to boot MacOs CLOVER is giving me that issue. It displays my LINUX partition just fine. I have already searched the web. I have verified that /drivers64UEFI/ApfsDriverLoader.efi and HFSPlus.efi are there I have tried to cp the /Volumes/EFI-backups/EFI/CLOVER from December. I have tried to copy the 10.14/CLOVER from wmcris repository. I have tried a lot of things. Nothings make clover show the Mojove partition. I don't have my USB boot flash drive. So any help is appreciated. I have ran out of ideas as to why CLOVER isn't showing the dang Mojave partition.

  24. No need to patch installer if your SMBIOS is officially supported in Big Sur (that patch is to allow install into older Macs, bypassing compatibility checks). IIRC, I only saw Preboot booting into the second stage install (the one with approx 30 minutes remaining). The final boot into the third stage shows only the Big Sur volume to boot from the OpenCore menu. Interrupting half way through the loading bar during this stage (when the progress bar slows to a crawl and the snapshot is being created) ---> Restart to OpenCore Menu now shows both "macOS Installer" and the Big Sur volume ---> Choose Big Sur Volume ---> 1 reboot, keep on choosing Big Sur volume, not the installer. For those getting error 66 trying to mount their root volume despite disabling SIP for authenticated root --> it means your system still has APFS System Snapshots enabled. These can be removed following the steps below (credit to guide on reddit) Fixing APFS Snapshot Procedure Boot into the Big Sur installer USB Open a terminal, type `csrutil disable` and reboot When back into the installer, run `diskutil list` to find the location of the "Macintosh HD" disk, such as disk2s5 Mount it using `diskutil mountDisk <disk identifier>` such as `diskutil mountDisk disk2s5` then run `mount -uw <volume mount point>` such as `mount -uw /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/` to mount it as read write Run `/System/Library/Filesystems/apfs.fs/Contents/Resources/apfs_systemsnapshot -v <volume mount point> -r ""` Then, to delete the snapshots on the disk, run `diskutil apfs listSnapshots <volume mount point>` and take note of each UUID of the snapshots Run `diskutil apfs deleteSnapshot <volume mount point> -uuid <uuid of snapshot>` for all snapshots on the disk. Verify that there are no more snapshots by running `diskutil apfs listSnapshots <volume mount point>` it should return "No Snapshots for disk" Reboot into the Big Sur desktop and make sure that running `sudo mount -uw /` returns no errors and that running `diskutil info /` returns a disk such as disk2s5 and not a snapshot such as disk2s5s1 Here is actual real world example (output from terminal after booting into Big Sur Recovery or USB Installer). Note in this example, <volume mount point> was /Volumes/Big_Sur, UUID of snapshot was DD99DFC1-7FA2-4B1E-9F75-04380B0AFCA4... -bash-3.2# csrutil status System Integrity Protection status: disabled. -bash-3.2# csrutil authenticated-root status Authenticated Root status: enabled -bash-3.2# csrutil authenticated-root disable Successfully disabled authenticated root. 25. Morning Slice, I will try again but the first thing I noticed was the installer for the Clover.app seemed way too small and didn't actually work.
