  3. Sounds like somebody has been using installers from over at the Red Tomato site. UltraCrap and or MultiCrap probably and left bits not in the EFI but in the system itself. Good old MultiCrap... RC Scripts possibly still lurking in the OS too, That will send OCQuirks nice and mad for sure.

  12. OC killing Polaris is (sorry) nonsense nor any correlation with MSR . There might be other reasons . I would go for a clean install , take care you only have one EFI (preferable on the macOS drive) and no somewhere else. Have a look here.

  15. KASLR. The macOS kernel cannot allocate space in memory. No idea why you have AptioMemoryFix installed. SSDT-Z390-RP21-SLOT4-TB3HP.aml works if your card is in SLOT 4.

  18. I'm sorry for the delay, I replaced the mainboard and did't reinstall the PCIe card, but will do it again. It is the Recon3D PCIe. It doesn't work on macOS, only with AudioDXE. You don't have to run Linux or Windows. AppleHDA does not have to be deleted. The PCIe slot only matters if you are using the SSDT. Since it also works with the edited Linux generic driver, VoodooHDA seems to have issues recognizing the card.

  22. Add your specs to your signature (rules are rules). What's your cooling? Hackintoshes mostly don't like coolers with advanced capabilities as macOS doesn't support anything other than a variable fan. Make sure your cooling system is actually supported. I'm inclined to do what AG said and strip everything back down to a bare system. Make sure all the components are installed properly and go ahead and hit restore defaults in your BIOS to reset that too. Then set it up again as listed on the first page of this thread. Grab a reliable installer. Not something you made in VMWare or got from a torrent off some site you've never been to before. Grab it direct from the MAS, preferably from a real Mac. Be sure your installer isn't corrupt. Most issues start here. Install either the Clover or OC EFI. That Intel SSD is like a decade old. Make sure it's not at the end of it's life. Intel had massive problems with their SSD line out the gate (anyone remember the 5MB bug?) so make sure that's sanitized. You may actually just want to pull that drive and try to install macOS on the WD NMVe for now. Less variables. If it works, then try on the Intel.

  25. You got to play the fault finding game and pin down where the problem is coming from. Start with an easy one and run memtestx86 and do 4 full passes on the ram with XMP on and make sure theres no errors coming from there. could be the board, it’s hard for me to tell without it sitting in front of me tbh. call the pciex1_1 slot 0 and work your way down from there. dont count nvme slots as pcie slots.

  26. Hey All, back in April I reported that I was having trouble with AppleALC and no audio out on my Comet Lake laptop. Since then I've been able to successfully use VoodooHDA, but really wanting a native codec I decided to spend some more time chipping away at this problem with AppleALC. In my attempts to get things working with AppleALC I have added the 400 series LP controller, and my codec started up but no sound happens. I've now found success using layout 21 and FakePCIID spoofing 0x8086 0x9DC8, everything lights up and sound works perfectly. That spawned a theory that my original PR/Controller patch was incorrect as C89D0000 appears under controller #11 (WhiskeyLake Mobile PCH HD Audio). Thinking I could correct support for my comet lake controller 0x8086 0x02C8 I replaced my original controller patch with a copy of #11 and modified the replace instances to patch for my controller. Unfortunately, that didn't correct my issue. It's loading up, and it looks like everything is fine but there's no output from the speakers or headphones. If I switch back to the FakePCIID and reboot, everything is working again. I also have a custom layout that works perfectly with FakePCIID but not with the controller patch. Any advice on what to try next? Logs are below, and here's a link to the patch. Thanks! 27. I had a few minutes of free time, so I applied the Catalina 10.15.5.02 supplemental update. The install was easy and followed my 10.15.5 installation instructions with one change: Use DosDude Catalina Patcher 1.4.4.

  28. @Mike Ranger, without keepsyms=1 it is a bit hard to say definitely, but it looks like you have APFS filesystem failure. On the root volume I guess.

  32. yes, it is easy but you need a proper screwdriver. This tutorial shows how to replace the fans but it will obvious how to disasseble the heat pipe: link

  33. Such issues are usually caused by incompatible Booter Quirk set (e.g. RebuildAppleMemoryMap, ProtectUefiServices, SyncRuntimePermissions, ProtectMemoryRegions, etc.). You should also make sure that your ACPI tables contain nothing bad. See this issue for some relevant information: https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/491

  34. Ok i have renamed my entry on my laptop and it shows Arch Linux correctly without any modifications to config.plist. Arch still does not boot with OC. I am wondering if it is because i have my dGPU disabled for macOS? config.plist

  38. Clover & OpenCore EFI Updates (10.15.5 Ready), 1st June 2020 (Use With Bios Revision F12d) The EFIs and DSDTs have now been updated to the my latest versions. Changes made include, AppleALC 1.5.0 Lilu 1.4.5 WhateverGreen 1.4.0 VirtualSMC 1.1.4 IntelMausi 1.0.3 Clover Updated to Revision 5118 OpenCore Updated to Revision 0.5.9 OpenCanopy is now Enabled as Standard Plus other major tweaks and changes to all of the configs Clover EFI Update - 01/06/2020 - Use with Bios revision F12d Only or Replace with the older F11 DSDT if you don't want to update the bios Clover Z390 Pro Navi Vega EFI 010620.zip - Vega, Navi (5700, 5700XT etc), Radeon VII DSDT EFI Clover Z390 Pro Polaris EFI 010620.zip - RX500 Polaris Series (RX590, 580, 570 etc) DSDT EFI Note - If your not using a 5700 XT or any other Navi GPU then remove agdpmod=pikera from the boot arguments. Please Note - I have now set KernelPM to No as standard so if you don’t have a unlocked MSR or not using my MSR Unlocked Bios Profile then go into the Clover Config.plist and set KernelPM to Yes or you won’t be able to boot up. An even better fix would be to unlock your MSR using my profile method. OpenCore EFI Update - 01/06/2020 Myself and @texem have now created a OpenCore EFI done the way the OpenCore Devs intended it to be made, There is no DSDT in use so you can use this EFI on any supported GPU and the SSDTs have been made so they will not be used in any other Operating System apart from MacOS. OpenCore 059 Z390 Pro 19,1 010620.zip - OpenCore v0.5.9, SMBios iMac19,1 OpenCore 059 Z390 Pro 1,1 010620.zip - OpenCore v0.5.9, SMBios iMacPro1,1 (IGPU Disabled) Note - If your not using a 5700 XT or any other Navi GPU then remove agdpmod=pikera from the boot arguments. Note 2 - Do not try to carry across your old OpenCore Config.plist to the new EFI as to many changes have occurred in 0.5.9. Use the new Config.plist instead. For OpenCore Using PlistEdit Pro add your details by modifying the following PLEASE NOTE - These EFIs are setup to be used with your msr Unlocked so make sure you use the F12d Unlocked Profile but if for any reason you can not unlock MSR then just modify following in the OpenCore config.plist : Additional Downloads mb_bios_z390-aorus-pro_f12d.zip - Aorus Z390 PRO Firmware F12d PlistEdit Pro.zip - PlistEdit Pro (use to edit OpenCore) CFG Unlock (MSR) F12d (F12c Pro WIFI) BIOS Profile - The Easy Way I have made this bios profile for you all to use that will unlock CFG on your motherboard making it play alot more friendly with the NVRam. It also has all the bios settings listed on this guide pre done and saved onto the profile. F12d_UNLOCK.zip - Use with Z390 Pro Bios Revision F12d ONLY F12c Unlock.zip - Use with Z390 Pro WIFI Bios Revision F12c ONLY 1 - Download the profile and save it to a USB Key 2 - Go into the bios, 3 - Load the profile, 4 - Save and exit 5 - Go straight back into the bios and save your bios to a new profile and name it Default CFG Unlocked or something like that. 6 - Boot back into Catalina go into your clover config and under Kernal and Kext Patches Uncheck KernalPM 7 - Save the changes and then restart and your done, your motherboard will now be CFG (MSR) Unlocked PLEASE NOTE - If you reset the bios or load bios defaults it will clear the Unlock making CFG Locked again. Default USB Setup For All OpenCore EFIs

  39. Because we care about Apple. They don't need hackintosh reports. You can disable this feature if you want with SpoofVendor=false, but it is not recommended. We don't bother them, they don't bother us. P.S. More info in Configuration.pdf
