  3. Hello evryone, this is the first time I open a topic in this forum. I wrote a script as title mentioned. Also I really appreciate all of you to help me test and develop this script or even port it into APP. You can down it in this URL: https://github.com/penghubingzhou/AnywhereEFI Features Install EFI automatically Mount your EFI partition in installing Update your Clover EFI version autoatically And more in future…... Enjoy it ! Credits @hieplpvip for mount_efi.sh @Dids for clover-builder @PMheart for useful help

  4. Just a heads up regarding the audio codec dumping in Clover r4887 @ctich has brought it to my attention that the EAPD value in the Clover dump does not match a Linux / VoodooHDA dump. This appears to be a discrepancy between the way EAPD value is stored in AudioDxe vs. Linux / VoodooHDA. In fact the only difference is the latter will AND with 0x7 then OR bit 2 if it's enabled. So I have messaged @Slice to see if he wants to add this to AudioDxe or we could just manually apply this to the value during the dump. Also it has been reported that some filename corruption can occur for the dumps. I've notified Slice and will see if we can come up with a solution.

  7. My suggestion is based solely on the model of laptop you have. This is NOT for general use. For some reason, the HDMI output on my HP Envy is wired to the Nvidia GPU, not the Intel HD620. I can't even get HDMI to work unless I do two things: I need to use the NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext along with Whatevergreen.kext (even though they say not use both together,) and I have to enable Nvidia Graphics in my config.plist. For some reason, this makes HDMI work perfectly, including 4K, even though the Nvidia GPU is disabled in my laptop's BIOS. Give it a try and see if it works for you too.

  8. I don't follow you, because if I mount the boot efi partition from a command prompt with "mountvol T: /S" then afterwards I see the efi partition in T: in explorer. Any other efi partitions than the boot one can be mounted from a command prompt by running "mountvol" to display the available mountpoints and then choosing the right one using the "mountvol T: <VolumeName>" format. The partition will then be visible in explorer.

  9. EDIT: *Nevermind* My network is performing flawlessly with 2.5.0d. Turns out the SATA drive I was using was causing the issue. I installed a NVME WD Black and my transfers are a steady 98-99MB/s with no system slow down. Sorry for the false report, deleting the below info to avoid confusion for others. config.plist

  10. How did you mount the EFI partition in windows explorer? As far as I knew you could only mount it with the command line or by using explorer++. I can't mount any EFI partition to be visible in explorer even with admin privileges...?

  11. So i think that new users can have sometimes a bad time and a lot of problems learning a figuring out how to make an hackintosh to work, especially people who are new to this subculture, so i thought that a nice thread with encouraging things about how we like, love and enjoy hackintoshing could help newcomers and people who are facing issues to keep tryinmg and don't give up, so i decided to create this thread, here you can share all the things you like, love, enjoy or that makes you happy about hackintoshing, and also any advice or suggestions, or just sharing your experience and thoughts and feelings about the hackintoshing. So answer to this thread and let's encourage people facing the challenges of this world. I can start by sharing with you a video from Peter Paul Chato which tell us the joy which hackintoshing brings with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wikUciciLWY

  14. I still don't understand the point, because the fact that the patch that WhateverGreen makes to ComputeLaneCount solves this freeze is just as a big of a coincidence as the fact that disabling HDMI 2.0 solves the freeze. Both solutions work due to the logic in the code snippet from AppleIntelFramebuffer::validateDetailedTiming I pasted above, and any change Apple makes in the few lines of source code for this snippet could break either fix or both. The problem with ComputeLaneCount has been the most serious for me because (unlike the others) it causes the system to hang. AppleIntelKBLGraphicsFramebuffer is not embedded in the prelinkedkernel shipped by Apple for recovery volumes, installation volumes and software update. Since Clover can only patch prelinkedkernel or booter kexts, it left the only way of resolving the hang for software updates to inject WhateverGreen/IntelGraphicsFixup as booter kexts. But by disabling HDMI 2.0, the freeze is resolved without any booter kexts.

  15. Yeah, that's the point. The core issue is that AGDP assumes the display is a built-in one, and forces this path. HDMI 2.0 disable just discards some unrelated code, and it happens to fix the lane count issue as well. The only issue with the description in WhateverGreen is the name, the code returned just as it was in 10.13.x beta. Anyway, good we have it back, though I would not expect it work the same way in the future.

  16. The fix for ComputeLaneCount by HDMI_2_0_Disable is not "coincidental". I checked the code. The link you gave shows outdated code. The freeze is in AppleIntelFramebuffer::validateDetailedTiming, which in 10.14.3 does the following call AppleIntelFramebufferController::ComputeLaneCount(IODetailedTimingInformationV2 const*,uint, uint *) test al, al jz short 17EB5 inc cs:AF060 movzx eax, byte ptr [r14+2389h] cmp [rbp-34h], eax jbe short 17EE9 17EB5: inc cs:AF058 mov rdi, [r14+1D0h] mov rsi, r12 call AppleIntelFramebufferController::isValidExtendedModesetParams(IODetailedTimingInformationV2 const*) test al, al jz short 17EE9 inc cs:AF070 mov rdi, r14 mov rsi, r12 call AppleIntelFramebuffer::IsHorizontalBlankingRequired(IODetailedTimingInformationV2 const*) test al, al jz 182DD 17EE9: The patch to ComputeLaneCount (done by WhateverGreen, or my Clover patch above) causes the code to execute the first "jbe 17EE9" and succeed. With the original ComputeLaneCount, it proceeds to 17EB5, then... - With HDMI 2.0 enabled, the call to isValidExtendedModesetParams returns true, and then isHorizontalBlankingRequired returns false which makes it jump to 182DD and this is the cause of the failure. - With HDMI 2.0 disabled, isValidExtendedModesetParams returns false, because the params are set in initTimingRange so that this function returns false (i.e. the functionality is disabled.) So the code proceeds to 17EE9 just as the ComputeLaneCount patch causes it to do. I'm not excluding the possibility that people have other issues than the ones I need to fix. But the stuff I listed is enough to make it work with my MB.

  17. Hi, thanks for that. The fix, however, is pretty much coincidental, I am afraid. There is more history about this boot argument here: https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/blob/e6cb093/WhateverGreen/kern_igfx.cpp#L376 The relevant issue in the comment was migrated here: https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/26

  18. You can still build the 32 bit binaries. It just takes a little more work. EDIT: Also I have two computers that have 32bit UEFI and one has an Atom (not old), the other has a Haswell........?
