  1. Boot option name retrieval 1) Locate the booter image as explained blow. 2) Locate ".contentDetails" in the parent folder 2.1) if unsuccessful, locate ".disk_label.contentDetails" in the parent folder 2.2) if unsuccessful, retrieve the volume's name HFS Boot 1) Retrieve blessed file via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleBless.h#L41 1.1) if unsuccessful, retrieve blessed folder via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleBless.h#L45, append "\\boot.efi". NOTE: This is broken in the latest binary I checked. 1.2) if unsuccessful, use the following hard-coded paths: "\System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi", "\EFI\APPLE\{ARCH}\BOOT.EFI", <StandardEfiPath>, "\\boot.efi" in this order 2) FV2 Recovery does not follow the usual practice because it is not shown by BootPicker anyway. Determine it via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleBless.h#L49, verify it does not match 1). APFS Boot 1) Determine the APFS Volume Info (and hencefor detect whether it is APFS in the first place) via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleApfsInfo.h#L54 1.1) Determine the APFS Container Info via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleApfsInfo.h#L36 1.2) Verify the Volume Role via https://github.com/CupertinoNet/EfiPkg/blob/development/Include/Guid/AppleApfsInfo.h#L51 1.3) Retrieve blessed file analoguous to HFS 1). NOTE: This step and 1.3.1) are broken in the binary I checked, hencefor it does not happen, but is probably supposed to. 1.3.1) if unsuccessful, retrieve blessed folder and append the booter name the same way as in HFS 1.2) 1.4) (if unsuccessful,) locate all Volumes that are part of the same container, check whether the current Preboot partition has folders named by the just located Volumes' GUIDs and append the hard-coded paths from HFS 1.2) if existant 2) Recovery detection works the same way as 1.4), just for a Recovery instead of a Preboot volume

  3. I mean't to fix that. The new attached EFI only contains new USB patch that will unlikely fix anything unless your hackintosh is installed on a USB drive. If it is installed on your hard drive, as I said, try playing with the patches I attached in the screenshot (i.e. disabling some of them). Your SATA Mode is AHCI in the BIOS right?

  4. Have you tried adjusting the Khz in midi pref pane or editing the info plist to suit your needs. that sometimes corrects weird noise behavior.

  5. True, but more so in the case of APFS in Sierra. Decided to research this a little more and here's what it says on Wikipedia: And there you have it. 15. Can you do it, because it's my friend and I know that he had a lot of bad things this last year and the beginning of this one! I've checked on eBay for possible motherboards with 8 and 9 series but prices are hot, 10 series have prices good enough but he don't have their processor

  18. If its that much trouble just buy a new board or a refurb compatible with your cpu and start over. Get one with dual bios feature. Even better get a Z170 with an 8350 and mod the bios for coffee lake then put Oz on in there. Its all about having fun and your not having any it seems.

  19. If no pin is broken or missing, well, you can do it by your self, and it's quite simple, just take a small piece of scarf-pin and use eyeglasses, and gently redirect pin after pin to it's original direction! Do it quietly and without any kind of stress

  20. Have you guys tried using the stock bios with no ozmosis modules loaded to check if its Oz causing this problen? With my Z87X-UD5H I have dual bios switch which helps trouble shoot these issues. Also have you disabled CSM? Using the updated Hermit video module? Tried updating the GOP driver on the GPU? I once had a similar issue getting Oz going on my Gigabyte board using an old video card. Had issues getting a picture with more than one video card installed if I remember correctly. Anyhow was able to fix it by updating the GOP firmware using Lordkags GOP update utility: https://www.win-raid.com/t892f16-AMD-and-Nvidia-GOP-update-No-requests-DIY.html. I had an Nvidia card so not sure about AMD but after the update I was able to get a picture through the card. Also had to use AMIBCP to turn on CSM setting in my Oz bios.

  21. There are rumors of Apple releasing a new version of MacPro in 2019 and I guess they will call it MacPi Pro if they are going to use ARM processors in that machine as well "Play the Pac-Man Like a Pro - MacPi Pro" But no worries it's going to be modular, so we can add as much as ARM processors as we like, they sky is the limit

  22. It very well may be not related. Couldn’t hurt to update them in anycase.

  23. This is not an Cpu Microcode issue! The motherboard itself is AMD Graphics compatible, the other reason is OzmosisDefaults.plist that has DisableNvidiaInjection set to Yes, npci=0x3000 and nvda_drv=0 are not present in boot-args! Cpu Microcode update is needed if the CPU doesn't being detected

  25. Yeah, this is not feasible, and Apple would have to announce it now in order to have a timeline to have it released within two years (or less because it says by 2020). Not to forget they already had the developer machines built when they made the announcement for Intel.... Then it took like six months after the announcement of switching from PPC to Intel just to get out the first two terrible Intel iMac and MacBook Pro, and another six months to replace actual products. Intel increased their own schedule to help out Apple to get core microarchitecture ahead of schedule. It was another eight years after, before PPC macs were declared obsolete and removed from support. And they want to make all apps work across all devices, ask Microsoft how that works out? Windows 8 is well known for being a disaster because they tried to force this upon their customers, and no one wants a glorified cell phone as their desktop. No high end (or maybe even low end) Intel could be replaced with any ARM chip that is available, they just aren't designed to perform heavy tasks. There is a reason that there are not a lot of ARM desktops but there's a lot of ARM mobile/tablet devices. Also, what manufacturer could possibly create enough chips to meet the demands of the desktop market? There's a really only Qualcomm or Samsung, and I very much doubt either have the ability to create that many chips and innovate them quick enough to keep up with Intel and AMD innovations. Not to mention why would Samsung want to create ARM chips for Apple after their recent relationship troubles and direct competition in many areas. It's only beneficial to Samsung if they can also use the technology as well, which we have already found out Apple won't let them do. Which is why Samsung no longer makes their chips. So that leaves Qualcomm, with who they are also currently in legal battles, doubt there won't be bad blood in that relationship too. So they going to expect that the foundries that make their current iPhone chips are going to suddenly be able to completely change their foundries for producing desktop quality chips, maintain their mobile chips, and still have employees left after they don't all jump from the buildings? Or is Apple going to create their own foundry to directly compete? Because that would be much further than two years away... One last note, why would this be leaked? This would 100% be covered by an NDA and very few people would actually know about it inside the company. When has Apple ever let something out before an official announcement? "The project, which executives have approved, will likely result in a multi-step transition." What does that even mean? I think this is some one random person wrote something stupid and a bunch of other news organizations just copy-pasta'd, I just went through google on like the first fifty articles talking about this are almost direct copies, lol. The only realistic thing I actually see is that they are creating software to make apps across all devices more feasible, which sounds more like they may approach an interpreted kind of binary format like microsoft did. I'll believe this when Apple says this is what they are doing.

  26. If somebody with ESXi 6.5 issues wants to contact me, I'd be willing to work with them to see if I can find what is causing the problems. I've been using the vmkramdisk method for a year or so with no problems, but it had an issue with some specific hardware by what donk said previously. I have nearly the same hardware as the person who had been having the issues and was never able to duplicate the issue. Anyway, I don't want ESXi support gone, I may just maintain a fork with it still in it for adventurous types. I won't promise it won't break anything if you try it
