  5. hahahahah... no nothing nefarious going on. just updating we also where on old ip-board as IM was. so the new site flow will be very similar. since it is what ip-board looks like now in the new versions. migration is almost completed. We are currently waiting for all the content to be rebuild (an automatic process); to match the new URLs with SSL turned on too. At the current pace thats probably going to take another 6 hours. Then we do some final testing to make sure everything works as intended (including having old links resolve properly), and reopen the site again. In short: everything is going according to plan thus far and we are on schedule.

  6. as Herve mentions we are upgrading the site just need to finish up some server back end {censored}... we should hopefully be up by tomorrow if we don"t have any crazy incompatibilities come up. but we have been testing on another server for a bit so hopefully it goes smooth thanks for noticing allen (thumbs up).

  7. i tried moving the .IAPhisicalMedia file to another location in a usb installer created with TINU and it's detected by clover and correctly booted, so i can say that removing or moving it works, maybe i will remove it in the code i am going to write for the app

  9. The problem with that assumption is that previous versions used that location, one of the updates to Sierra moved it from there to the location used in the line above that. But all versions of sierra are branded macOS not OS X. So you need to make a determination what version it is. However that's way too much work and those lines are dumb anyway, they should be replaced with this code: for (Index = 0; Index < OSXInstallerPathsCount; ++Index) { if (AddLoaderEntry(OSXInstallerPaths[Index], NULL, L"macOS Install", Volume, NULL, OSTYPE_OSX_INSTALLER, 0)) { break; } } I still think that you have some situations where the installer won't appear if it's at the default location only with .IAPhysicalMedia present. I see no place where that is resolved, is that not the original issue? Also in custom entry, the path shouldn't be skipped if it's the second stage, it should be added as the installer type if appropriate. EDIT: I'm not sure maybe it does work but wow it could be a whole lot better by just checking the file once later. Removing all that stuff, use the code above to detect installers. Then use this code to detect the default entry: if (!FileExists(Volume->RootDir, L"\\.IAPhysicalMedia")) { if (EFI_ERROR(GetRootUUID(Volume)) || isFirstRootUUID(Volume)) { AddLoaderEntry(MACOSX_LOADER_PATH, NULL, L"macOS", Volume, NULL, OSTYPE_OSX, 0); } } else if (Index >= OSXInstallerPathsCount) { AddLoaderEntry(MACOSX_LOADER_PATH, NULL, L"macOS Install", Volume, NULL, OSTYPE_OSX_INSTALLER, 0); } EDIT2: Just some typos. EDIT3: Actually my logic was wrong so changed the if.

  10. so, after some thuble shooting the new advanced option works, maybe i can consider tinu as the first mac os installer creation tool which has the 10.13.4 support in it And i have also fixed a bug hich was introduced in the pre-release 2 of tinu 2.0 which i have discovered only now

  15. First I wasn't asking for the update or combo update .dmg files, I was asking for the .dmg file you download from the Apple Dev site for 10.13.5 beta 1. Secondly, That file does not include the update or combo update, it installs the necessary catalog files that will allow you to download the update directly using the App Store like normal. Thirdly, I don't care for public beta.

Yes, it's set way past the max rpm of the fan, to make the fan spool up faster. I'd start with 0x1964 and continue from there on. The min speed is on the left and the temperature target on the right. The clocks are there too somewhere, the base unit is 10kHz, so 1600MHz is 160000.

  24. If Apple did switch to ARM and completely dropped support for x86 chips then you would only be able to run in an ARM emulator as the two architectures are not interchangeable. They have entirely different instruction sets and implementation. Too bad that this CPU is very expensive, meant for servers, and can't even compete with previous generations of xeons, let alone new. That is the major failure of ARM, it can't compete with a comparably or lower priced x86. Then there's the manufacturer's release that contains: Seeing how current ARM chips cost approximately the same as desktop chips but perform no where near, the cost to performance ratio of trying to make them into desktops just does not make sense. Most phones now have either quad- or octa-core snapdragons. But it takes approximately 4 (extremely optimized) ARM cores to match one haswell core and that gap has only widened with each new generation, as the 48 core ThunderX competed with a lower end 12 core xeon, the 54 core ThunderX2 is competing with an even lower end 14 core xeon...

  29. Reagrding what is happening with macOS 10.13.4 and the usb installers not detected, i have added a new advamced setting to tinu, which is enabled by default if you want to create a bootable usb installer of macOS 10.13.4 and does the procedure i described in the previous post, it creares an .IABootFiles folder and the it copyes all the system files from the usb installer inside the .IABootFiles Folder, a temporary solution which helps until the clover team adds support for 10.13.4 installers, when this support will be added to the latest clover, i will no longer make it enabled by default when such support is added, now this feature is in testing, i will let you know how is it going

  34. Supplementary info. 1013.4 was causing permanent crashes. My PS2 mouse can be the cause as I suspect Voodoo -Ps2- controller kext to be outdated. Anyway additionally some overload of processors caused overheating - do not now the reason but some process in background went like crazy. Only solution was using Time Machine back to 10.13.3. And everything work fine. Weird but true.

  37. So what was wrong with those later nvidia drivers? I know it lagged, but why did it lag, what was changed in its functionality compared with older drivers? I'm on gtx 960 and skylake, so I too experienced that lag and was using older drivers to avoid it.

  39. I continued reverse engineering checkConfigSupport() and found some really surprising results. With my flashed ASUS card the hash value checks are bypassed but it first reads the global chip identification register (according to what I learned from the Linux driver's source code). Next it tries to retrieve the NIC's "built-in" property from IORegistry. In case the "built-in" property is found, it compares the value of the global chip identification register with 0x102, which seems to be the value matching the flashed cards and the chips is refused with the error message "AppleEthernetAquantiaAqtion) AssertMacros: !b0Chip". This is quite strange as the ASUS card also uses a B0 revision chip but it looks like Apple found a way to distinguish their hardware from flashed cards. If the "built-in" property isn't found, the check of the global chip identification register is skipped and the NIC will be accepted without further tests. This opens up a new opportunity for a patch which may even survive driver updates. Replacing the string "built-in" with something else by a Clover patch also causes the driver to accept the chip and even the error message disappears (I can confirm that this works!). By the way, I don't think that it would be possible to use the driver in combination with vanilla ASUS cards (without Apple firmware flash) as the driver seems to depend on Apple's firmware. Earlier versions of the driver even failed to retrieve the NIC's permanent MAC address on vanilla ASUS cards and I have no reason to assume it would be different under 10.13.4. Another point is that Apple offloads mDNS to the NIC in sleep which requires special firmware usually missing in 3rd-party cards. Mieze

  49. Ok, thanks, seems I also had to turn off CSM in my Bios. Worked on it all night, with the RX 580, and some old Geforce cards, when what I needed to do was disable CSM. The Geforce cards wouldn't get any GUI, they just feel to the text console when the GUI should load. Never figured that out, but I don't think I need any of those old cards. I'm having this problem too. My Broadcom card uses the USB2 header on the motherboard, the Wifi works, but the Bluetooth doesn't. I'm using the GenericUSBXHCI.kext, I can plug my KB/M into the USB2 ports on the back, and they work. No USB info in the ASP. All the ports seem to work, USB2/USB3/USB3.1. I used the Pre/Post install scripts, not sure why it's not working.
