Wha you need to so is disassemble VMware-vmx, find the Code Block in which the error Message pops up and change any Jumps to that Block to prevent it from being executed. running lion in 32bit mode is just a configuration thing. it works.

Nope, i got them all i don't think i'm gonna make it work, vmware just doesn't support it imho.

i have no idea of virtualization itself, I just reenable what VMware disables for reasons we don't know! also the problem is not win7 but rather vmware itself, because i don't see why software virtualizing a 64bit guest on a 64bit host shouldnt be possible!

Sorry guys, doesn't seem to be possible. Ignoring the absence of long mode is exactly what clicking the yes button does.

you guys running 8.0.1? I'ma take out the disabling of long mode in software virtualization, can't test if it works though, you gotta tell me. uploading it in like 20 min.

Never ran Lion in VMware as I managed to install it natively. Can't help you with that, sorry.

Now boot in verbose mode to get error messages! You'll most likely be able to solve your problem by googling the error message. your problem is quite common and not that hard to solve afaik. I can't really help you from here as i'd need to google anything i tell you myself and I'm not having spare time for that right now, sorry!

press Apple+V after powering on your vm. I'm not sure which key gets recognized as the apple key, try ctrl, win-key or alt. It's the win-key for me. edit: googling stuff like this is greatly appreciated!

If you have the very same problem as Kurt, this still applies: I'm not too much into Mac OS itself, so I'm afraid I can't help you with this. Boot Lion in verbose mode to check what the problem is and you'll most likely be able to solve it.

I don't think that's possible as long as you run the standard vmware setup. is there a \x64 subfolder? did you patch the vmware-vmx.exe file in the \x64 subfolder?
