  1. For the first time, I couldn't get this beta to appear in Software Update - either full installer or incremental. None of the usual fixes worked.
  2. The short answer? No. But for the record, when I removed OCLP patches, my menu bar returned to normal (except for the line through my wifi icon) and Bluetooth works for me. With the OCLP patches, I had problems installing the 14.4 beta 1 update. Without OCLP, beta 2 installed without incident.
  3. Now that I think of it, wasn't it you that restored a Time Machine backup to revert from 14.4 to 14.3? I tried to do just that and Time Machine in my 14.4 Recovery partition could not detect my USB Time Machine Backup Drive. That is my ultimate endgame - reverting back to 14.3 until OCLP is updated.
  4. I thought you didn't update to 14.4 b1 or b2 and are avoiding doing so. How would you know whether USB drives work in a system you aren't using? Please, can someone who actually has 14.4 running on their computer confirm whether a USB drive can be detected on their computer. I see mine in System Info->USB but not in SATA, not in Disk Utility, and not in Finder. Nothing personal eSaF but you don't have a dog in this fight. BTW, I am using USBInjectAll.kext version 0.7.6.
  5. Can anyone confirm that they are able to mount USB drives in 14.4 beta 1 or 2. I cannot get my Time Machine drive recognized but when I boot into a partition with 14.3 on the same laptop, it is detected just fine.
  6. Yeah, I have Bluetooth working just fine. Only WiFi is fubar.
  7. I have installed 14.4. I had to disable all of my WiFi-related kexts in OC config to get it to install. Post-install I re-enabled them and repatched the root files but WiFi doesn’t work. Ethernet is working and I am trying to isolate the problem now. LATER: It appears that the WiFi kext is not loading. I suspect the problem may be with the IO80211FamilyLegacy.kext or its AirPortBrcmNIC.kext plugin. STILL LATER: It appears that this is not a kext problem at all. It appears that OCLP needs to be updated to be compatible with macOS 14.4 beta. Reverting root patches fixed the problems with the WiFi page in system preferences and the menubar display for the clock, wifi, bluetooth, battery, and control center. Of course, wifi does not work without OCLP's root patches. Hopefully, an update will be available shortly.
  8. Installation did not complete. Cannot reboot after first stage of installation.
  9. With the release of macOS Sonoma, a new feature was added that I found very irritating -- a pop-up indicator that caps lock was enabled. The problem is that the indicator is located so close to the cursor that it often interferes with the text I am writing in all caps. I searched for a means to toggle this feature off but Sonoma does not provide one, at least not yet. If you are bothered by this feature, I found a way of disabling it in this article: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255159504?answerId=259667268022#259667268022 I hope this helps someone.

I'm still having a problem with this. Using the OpenCore method, I cannot seem to edit the FixShutdown-USB-SSDT.aml file correctly. The USB's _PRW is found at _SB_.PCI0.XHC_.RHUB.SS06 but entering that into the SSDT doesn't make the laptop power off at shutdown.
  11. When I used this method, WhatsApp and Firefox did not work. That's the reason for using the amfipass.kext.

I am back 5 years later with the same problem -- my laptop will not shut down completely. The LED light for the power button stays on as does the fan. The fix above no longer works because changes to my DSDT over the years, including changes made by @MaLd0n, have removed the SLPE device from my DSDT. If only I saved my DSDT from 5 years ago. Any ideas about how to restore the SLPE device or find a new method to shut down my laptop? Thanks.
  13. I reported this problem when it was first suggested that, to use OCLP, you had to use the bootarg amfi=0x80. I switched to the AMFIPass.kext and this solved the problem for me. BTW, I had the same problem with Firefox, not just WhatsApp.
  14. I installed Sonoma RC1 to my main system partition believing that Sonoma was running smoothly enough on my test partition to justify it. However, I encountered a problem with OCLP patching of the wireless adapter that I had not encountered on my test partition. (Both use the same EFI to boot.) Has anyone else encountered this? These are essential kexts and I have the most current versions installed. Any ideas what to do? I have tried the recommended installation settings but keep getting this patch failure. Thanks for your suggestions. EDIT: Problem solved. This error was caused primarily because this was not a clean install. It appears that, in June 2022, I put a copy of VirtualSMC into my /Library/Extensions/ folder. It was version 1.3.0. The current version is 1.3.3. The dependencies are different. That is what caused OCLP to not be able to find the dependent kext. Case closed. (Yay!)
  15. You are free to have your own opinion about XtraFinder. I still like the up arrow and use it all the time. But the real point of my posts are to address the issue of whether it is necessary to have the csr-active-config 03080000 in order for OCLP to patch wifi in Sonoma and to pop-up after updates are installed to begin the re-patching process. Is that hijacking? I'm sure I'm not the only person on this forum that would like more options for their csr-active-config.
