efekoc Posted June 8, 2011 Share Posted June 8, 2011 This detailed guide is explaining how you can install Mac Os X 10.6.7 on your Asus N53SN laptop and how you can get full qe/ci support with native resolution. All other devices not tested right now. I will update in the time when I get work other devices. ATTENTION PLEASE! ALL YOUR DATA WILL GONE ON YOUR DISK! I don’t know how you can install windows and mac os x on the same disk. This way you can install on an external hard drive. PREPARING a) Burn [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]-Legacy.iso to an empty cd-rom. Burn Mac Os X Snow Leopard Retail dmg to an empty double-layer dvd (8.5 GB). 2. INSTALL MAC OS X 10.6 a) Boot system with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]-Legacy boot cd. When you see the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] cd icon on the screen, remove [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]-Legacy boot cd. c) Insert Mac Os X 10.6 Retail DVD. Press F5. d) Select “Mac Os X Install DVD” and type “busratio=23” (without “) and press Enter. e) Partition disk with “GUID Partition Table” option and complete installation. f) When installation complete, restart computer, remove Mac Os X 10.6 Retail DVD. 3. UPGRADE TO 10.6.6 a) Boot system with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]-Legacy boot cd. Select Mac Os X 10.6 installed disk and type “busratio=23” and press Enter. c) Upgrage to 10.6.6. d) Reboot. 4. INSTALL BOOTLOADER AND DEFINITIONS Run [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] 3.6.0, select these options from Custom Install Drivers & Bootloaders -> Bootloaders -> Chameleon 2.0 RC5 - Sandy Bridge Customization -> Boot Options -> 64-bit Apple Boot Screen Customization -> System Definitions -> Macbook Pro 8,1 Customization -> Themes -> Chameleon RC5 Default Osx86 Software -> Kext Helper b7 5. COPY EXTRAS FROM [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] CD a) Run Terminal app and run “sudo -s” command. Enter your password. Run “hdiutil mount /Volumes/[url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]-Legacy/Extra/Preboot.dmg” command. c) Run “cp /Volumes/Preboot/Extra/Extensions.mkext /Extra” command. d) Run “cp /Volumes/Preboot/Extra/mach_kernel /Extra” command. e) Run “cp /Volumes/Preboot/Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist /Extra” command. 6. EDIT COM.APPLE.BOOT.PLIST FILE Edit “/Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist” file, you can use “vi /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist” command. a) Change these values to: “Kernel” = “/Extra/mach_kernel” “Kernel Flags” = “arch=i386 maxmem=4096 busratio=23 -force64” “SMBIOS” = “/Extra/smbios.plist” Add this line: “Timout” = “2” 7. EDIT SYSTEMVERSION.PLIST FILE Run “chmod 777 /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist” and edit this file, you can use “vi /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist” command. Change “ProductBuildVersion” value to “10J3210”. 8. UPGRADE TO 10.6.7 a) Reboot system. Remove [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url]-Legacy boot cd. c) System will boot. d) Run “MacOSXUpd10.6.7MBPEarly2011.dmg” and Don’t reboot after upgrading. 9. FINAL ARRANGEMENT a) Copy Kyle_C’s “boot” file (located in the ‘asus n53sn files’) over to Chameleon “boot” file(located in the /) Copy “IOPCIFamily.kext” (located in the ‘asus n53sn files’) over to “/System/Library/Extensions/”. c) Remove all ATI drivers with “rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/ATI*” command. d) Remove all Intel GMA drivers with “rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMA*” command. e) Remove all NVIDIA drivers with “rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce*” and “rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*” commands. f) Remove Intel Cpu Power Management drivers with “rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPower*” command. g) Reboot System. 10. ADDITIONAL DRIVERS a) Install “IO80211Family.kext” with “Kext Helper b7”. Install “VoodooBattery.kext” with “Kext Helper b7”. c) Reboot System. That is it.
