At first it didn't work, so i thought why not copy all the 10.5.8 appleintelgma* and appleintelintergratedframblabla (this is

a old kext 1.4.18) to snow leopard.

Copied all into S/L/E chown , chmod and clear kextcache repair disk and reboot.

It didn't work and only came out black screen with horizantal lines but can see the mouse clearly.

So i boot into safe mode replace back the original kext EXCEPT leaving the old appleintelintegratedframebuffer (1.4.18)

chown, chmod and clear kextcache repair disk and reboot.

But this time i reboot in verbose mode and SL detected the GMA950.

Front row works now.

This is the last thing I need to get working :) I have the same model, and I have tried loads of different AppleIntelFrameBuffer and AppleIntelGMA950 kexts, and all I get is either : a grey screen, or a blue screen that flickers.

If anyone could point me in the direction of kextts that will enable QE/CI I would be most grateful! :(

Agrrhhh... I got normal resolution 1400x1050 and 32-bit color, but have illegal color palette on screen. And I can't change color depth in display proprerties. :D

Same here , no color depth or rotation or brightness for me either.

Only resolution switching and external monitor support.

At least SL detects GMA 950 at the moment. :)

Stock kext from SL 10.6.2

What i did was only replacing the AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext

Sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMA*

Sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMA*

Sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

Sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

Clear kextcache

Repair kext with disk utility

Reboot -V ( Verbose mode )

There's one more kext i can't attached due to size is 14mb, but that's not a concern.

All i do know is Leopard all Snow Leopard sometimes need AppleIntelGMA3100 for GMA 945.

So dun delete the applegma950 or 3100 , juz leave it inside.

Thanks very much! :)

It worked perfectly, I now have full QE/CI and resolution switching.

Try deleting the string and replace the appleintelintegratedframebuffer.kext version 1.4.18 only.

The rest of your stock kext leave it as it is.

Reboot using verbose mode.

Can you attach this kext? I removed partition with iDeneb :)

May i know what Kext presently you are running?

On your signature i see a Calliasto thing for your GMA950 ( that kext give's you only native res but no QE or CI )

If you are using Snow Leopard 10.6.2, without any hacked or generic kext for your display.Does it work while

connected to external monitor?

If yes ? Does Snow Leopard loads the appleintelGMA950 and appleintelintegratedframebuffer?

You can check what kext has been loaded at "ABout this Mac", "More Info ", "Extensions ".

For more detailed installation is ( For Snow Leopard ) is

Download only the AppelIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

Backup your existing one just in case.

Unzip put it at your desktop and no need to rename

Now open /System/Library/Extensions/

Drag the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext and drag it into /System/Library/Extensions/ and replace the existing stock kext.

Open “Terminal” from Application/Utilities and type

“sudo –s” without the quotes and enter your password

“sudo chown –R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext” without the quotes

“sudo chmod –R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext” without the quotes

To clear your kextcache type

“kextcache -v 1 -t -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions/” without the quotes

Clearing your kextcache will take a while in the terminal , once it’s done you will see the “bash-3.2”

Open Disk Utility and repair disk permission before you reboot.

@ScottyGee glad it worked for you.

For more detailed installation is ( For Snow Leopard ) is

Download only the AppelIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext

Backup your existing one just in case.

Unzip put it at your desktop and no need to rename

Now open /System/Library/Extensions/

Drag the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext and drag it into /System/Library/Extensions/ and replace the existing stock kext.

Open “Terminal” from Application/Utilities and type

“sudo "s” without the quotes and enter your password

“sudo chown "R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext” without the quotes

“sudo chmod "R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext” without the quotes

I have already made.

spoiler does not work, sorry

Still no display at your laptop with this kext?

GMA 950 max ram in OSX is 64mb and windows max is 224mb no way it can go upto 1024mb.

I'd guess you need to search for other alternatives for your laptop.

Try using your IDeneb Disc , try get that kext ( appleintelintegratedframebuffer) alone.

Found this info in OSX wiki

HP Compaq nc6320

2GB RAM otherwise as stock.

Install Method: ideneb 10.5.5 DVD Vanilla kernel, disabled one CPU in BIOS

Processor: Core 2 duo 1.66

Audio: Working with azaliakext from forum (i think) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...7&hl=azalia

LAN: Broadcom Working with ionetworkingkext from forum: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=114728&hl=

Video: QE CI and resolution works

Very speedy even with only one CPU,

Tested xnu 9.4 kernel crashes.

OBS. To get past welcome screen i had to transfer information from installed leo4all on my USB-drive.. . .

Thanks, I know about it.

The iDeneb works on my notebook fine, but its Leo (10.5.x). I try run Snow (10.6.x) on this computer..... in 32 bit mode as least. I tried reinstall all video kexts from 10.5 and got flash and color ribbed screen.

Thank you for help anyway.

@ Yashka

You can't load all the kext from iDeneb and put it into SL.

Try copy only GMA950 and Appleintelintegratedframebuffer from ideneb and install one by one.

Also try to delete the GMA3100 kexts.

See how it goes, i will try look for another solution for you.
