I have a problem on a retail install of Snow Leopard on D830:

"No HPETs available...CPU(s) configured incorrectly ... AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement/...-90/pmThread.c:148

Upon reading that this can be caused by a faulty dsdt.aml, I did the following:

1. Used a Linux Live CD to get dsdt.aml from the laptop (cat /proc/acpi/dsdt > dsdt.aml).

2. Transferred this to the macbook.

3. Disassembled it.

4. Edited it to fix the RTC length 2.

5. Compiled it.

6. Gave me an error that *pnp0c14 had to be purely alphanumeric (line 7030).

7. Deleted the *.

8. This time it compiled correctly.

9. Copied this dsdt.aml to / and /Extra.

I still get the same problem.

Am I missing an /Extra kext ?

I am attaching the original dsdt.aml obtained from the laptop using the linux live CD. And the edited dsdt.dsl that was used to generate the dsdt.aml used.

I found this link:

Fixing DSDT

It requires fixing HPET, TMR and RTC. The motherboard in that link is different, but it suggests that I need to do something similar to fix the above problem.

Can anyone help on this ?

Hi,

thanks for your guide. It's great. I have a question for you.

I had the same problem on my usb stick to install snow on my Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS4. I had the HPET problem with a kernel panic on AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement kext.

But I had NO DSDT file on the stick. And I had NO disabler.kext on the stick

So do you think that this is the reason of this error ? What happen if I add disabler.kext (I am already using NullCPUPowerManagement.kext) ?

........or do I need this dsdt file (by using your guide) so I can delete the disabler kext ?

Thanks
