el_charlie
kext662 doesn't work after 10.6.2 update That's weird. I updated flawlesly and still have sound. In fact, I'm hearing "Paramore - Emergency" while writing this. Make sure you have that DSDT.aml file and the ALC662.kext on you /Extra/Extensions folder. On my hack is on the hidden EFI partition and works smooth as silk! My MoBo is a Foxconn G31MV-K but uses the same ALC662 audio chip. Actually, I'm using a Gigabyte's DSDT.aml file and works ok. Cheers!
tomasd1
ive updated mac osx to version 10.6.4...and in 32 bit version i can get sound working when istalling Alc 662 package... ive recently noticed that it was running in 32 bit mode so when using utlity called "macpilot" i just click there to set it to 64 bit mode... then my audio stops working and the audio icon is "grey"..... i tried multiple kexts (that are labeled Green"... in Leopard version i was using Voodoo HDA to get sound working.. in snow leopard .. i was using .... azalia audio pkg.... to get it to work.... (only works for me in 32 bit mode) so please if anyone knows how to get it to work...and helps me out i would be really thankfull im using: G31 MX motherboard with intergrated sound ..i belive its ALC 662.. (at least on official web page specications says so) (from FOXCONN) everything else is working great... and 32 bit mode was flawless (except i had audio onlly output 2 chanell stereo) i also have a : sound blaster x fi extreme music ...inside computer.... but i read nothing about getting it to work.... in windows that was easy to make it work.... i would rather see soundblaster x fi working....but i would be more then happy if we could get to work on board audio much appriciated..please help me out... i will be always gratefull computer : core 2 duo 2.33 ghz 4mb cache foxconn g31 mx nvidia gt 240 1 GB DDR 3 1.5 T hard drive 2 GB Ram 800 Mhz original apple keyboard Dual Monitors with Full HD sound : ALC 662 (in leopard working with voodoo hda) in snow leopard 32 bit working with : AzaliaAudio.pkg / but no sound in 64 bit mode i have all the tools like : OSX 86 tools or UI installer or kext helper ...or kext utility 64 bit version...... i can upload any screen shot or anything..just please help me get to fix the sound.. thank you for all the answers.... best wishes
FilBip
Hi, I succeed installing 10.6.4 (retail+combo upd). I have a g31m-s2l with nvidia 7300 and Pentium dc e5200. I stay in 32bit mode because of the old 7300 graphic card. Sound is ok with alc662.kext. I patched the DSDT following tutorials for other Gigabyte MB. Chameleon RC5 generates P-states, Speedstep ok (needs iMac9,1 in smbios.plist), Sleeping too (no automatic sleep, needs RIP3, keyboard shortcut works). My Extra/Extensions contains only fakesmc and alc662 ! Here is the full kit : GA_G31M_S2L_ChamRC5_speedstep.zip ...A nice little hack ready for 10.6.5... Used Kext Helper7 to get it installed... Anything else that has to be done ? Do I need to change the settings for Voodoo HDA to make it work with ALC662 ? gustavolessa
Hi. I'm now running 10.6.7 with audio, but I'm having a problem. I have an iPhone 4 with AirPhones installed (wireless headset thru wifi). It has been a while since I used it last time. Thou I've made several updates to both Mac OS and iOS. Now it doesn't work! I tried a few apps with the same purpose and none worked! So I think its an mac audio issue. I tried many kexts and kits. All of them worked flawlessly, except with wifi phones app. I've searched for 4.3 problems on those apps for iPhone and I didn't found a thing! Can anyone help me figure out what's causing the problem? Or, please, test it? The apps used: - AirPhones - AudioIn - Headset Thank you very much
