Well I got a G5 case! Yippee!
I have several questions:
1. Does anyone know the layout of the front panel? (The power button, audio out, USB and firewire) that way I can just use it.
2. What about the power supplY? How have you guys connected the powersupply to the back bottom port so it looks legit?
3. What do you guys do about unused ports?
I basically want to try to get this to look exactly like a powermac g5 on the outside.
Im probably gonna reroute things by using extension cables etc etc, but im not sure about the top three questions

Look for the apple service manual pdf for the g5 - it has a complete listing of the pinouts for the front panel, and power supply (which won't be atx compatible.)

You'd be better off trying to mod a standard ATX powersupply, rather then use the included one.

have you selected a screen? the screens on the imacs hook up to the video card directly. You'll need some circutry that will pulse the light on the front as well. Simple timer circuit thats all. The speakers are pretty easy to figure out. You can desoilder the plugs on the sound card and soilder the speaker wires on in that place. Then soilder the wires to the mic and line out plugs to the pins that would connect to a front panel. You can get pretty small power supplies, but i would suggest getting a mac mini power supply and replacing the cord that goes to the computer with a standard 3 pin one. That would look slick and you would save room for the other components. The case probably isn't ATX compatable so you'll need to dremel the risers out and replace them.
Does all that sound fun? It'll be alot of work to get this to work. Speaking from experience however, it's a great way to spend a couple of sleepless nights.
