I'm dropping all support to this forum, as this being why.
Please don't PM me anymore, If you need a Bios, then PM Kabyl, since it is clear that he don't want to support this forum anymore.

I really don't know what you're waiting for, why did you put them down right after you replied?

1 i'M NOT HOME, 2 i'M CHECKING WHAT IS MINE, AND WHAT IS YOURS. i'M NOT GOING TO RUSH AND JUST PULL EVERYTHING TO MAKE YOU HAPPY.
I JUST GOT HOME TODAY TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE SERVER, PLEASE DON'T BE PUSHY, AFTER ALL, IT WAS YOUR ON WORDS OF SAYING YOUR WORK IS FREE!!! i'LL GET THEM DOWN AFTER i CHECK THEM OVER, AS i'M NOT GOING TO DELETE MY WORK AS WELL!!!.

CRAP, SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOCK.
-omn
My work that I put on my site is free, but I never said you can get them and put them in your site and drive traffic or donations or whatever, or for just putting them for ppl without any reason, because ppl have my site to check for my work, you didn't need at all to put my mods in your site, you could just put a link to my site instead of doing everything all over again, thing that doesn't explain the effort to do so from your side, also you've taken the time to discredit me by removing my name from the files, which has no explanation either, it is even another mistake, and one more thing, it's you who's doing the wrong thing here not me, you should fix it right away, a consequence of your mistake is to take the few of your mods down too, if you're somone who take responsibility and deals with the consequences of his mistakes, not to make me happy, but to do what's right and to fix your mistake, hell, you just copied all I had in my site even the same models, and most of what you have in your site is mine.
That said, when you say you just got home and all.. it doesn't take more time to take them down than what you just did by checking the forums and replying to my PM.

-Kabyl

Not to be harsh, but I only used a few from your site, as there was some that I didn't have time to look over. Like these from the laptops. A8SEAS.302, f3eas.303.rom, f3seas.207, F7EAS.206
So don't tell me I copied them all from your site. I will get them changed tonight.
Just having a bit of patience is the key, which you are clearly lacking!!! I didn't try to discredit you for one, and like I said before, if it's that big of a deal, then you can take back over the forum again since you clearly have lost interest in it, other THAN giving me a hard time.

I don't know who you think you are, to tell people to PM me, while I clearly said in this thread don't PM me for BIOS mod requests and post them in this thread.
And another thing I never lost interest in BIOS mod'ing, I'm still doing it, I'm not doing all the requests, I can't and I don't have much time as I used to, but I still mod. from time to time, and those who lately got their BIOSes mod'd by me, know that.

So..

I'm again asking you to remove my work from your site, since you said you will do it last night (yesterday), and I PM'd you asking politely to remove them days ago, I've waited enough time, and I had enough patience. so now, I'm really wondering if you're someone who keeps his words.. or it's just to win some time..
If you're doing this and getting donations for your work, that's your business, and I don't care, but, sorry, not with my work.
You didn't even credit me for my work and for finding the fix, and I didn't ask you to do so, fine, but what you did is worse; you had the time and intention to discredit me from my own work by removing my name from the files, and then you say you have to check what is yours and what isn't.. go tell that to someone stupid. I personally consider people who do that, thieves.
Now that you just modded a few BIOSes and didn't take the time to keep your word, I see you have no intention to do so, if you don't want to be responsible and act as an adult deal with the consequences (taking down everything while you start a new list from your own mods, which is nothing much at all), and please do yourself a favour and don't tell me you're now pissed, and you're not going to remove them, that would make you look even worse in the eyes of others.

SORRY, IF YOU WANT CREDIT FOR FINDING THE FIX, YES.
YOU DID FIND THE FIX AS TO GETTING THE CORES WORKING, THAT IS CLEARLY YOUR DOING.

If I really wanted the credit, I would have asked, but I didn't.

QUOTE
that being said, I took the time to learn how to fix them myself, so does that mean I can't take credit for my work?

did I ever said you can't? no, I said it's your business, and I don't care.
QUOTE
As for your work, I highly suggest you go and download all the bios on my site can check the DSDT string!! If I missed any of yours I'm sorry, but I did keep my word, and I have removed all your file that I am aware of!! please let me know what I missed.

I knew it.. this is your mistake to fix it, not me I'm not going to waste time checking each file (I did many, more than you did)
what you should have done (and I don't believe I have to tell you this again), is start a clean page with your own mods. you can check your posts and see what you've done and put them, is it that hard? no, and I don't think you're that stupid not to understand this.
QUOTE
I did honor my word, however I'm not going to be childish as your self about things, I'll link your page, I'll even give you credit for my work, just stop harassing me please.

If you want to do so, do it because that is what you should have done, not because I asked, because I didn't. and please, don't credit me for your work, if you do something wrong it will be under my name, so please don't do it.
QUOTE
I've already had to block you from PM over this. JUST GROW UP PLEASE.

huh? I PM'd you because I thought it was the right thing to do, and not take it into the public, and I didn't PM you since you took it into the public, so please stop your BS. You should grow up.

LOL, OMG

You really don't think I can Download a bios and Fix it myself, and add it back so I can have a complete bios page for what members are asking for?
Man, you must think you're god.
Downloading and fixing a bios that somebody is needing is quite easy to do, I'm sorry if you think I am lacking the skills to click a button to download, then decompile them myself, then fix them, then recompile.

Done talking about this.
Have a nice day.
-OMN

Can a MOD clean these forums up?

why are you still putting words in my mouth?
I didn't say it's hard, I think it's so easy and I wonder why people don't do it themselves, and I don't think I'm god..
you just showed you're BS'ing, and you weren't even able to answer to what I said, because you know you're wrong, and you're trying to change the subject.

If a mod wants to clean this, he should think twice, do you want to be part of doing the wrong thing by letting someone like OMN make mistakes and go if nothing happen?

This is bad in the long run, of course people now will get their BIOS fixed, but like this you loose people who do the real work, and find the fixes..

.. and I thought you said you're done talking.. ?
You spent 2 days working on... that's nice, no, that's great, and no I'm not missing anything, you seem not understand now, or you became so blind not to see that you actually have no point, you did a mistake and instead of fixing it, you started playing games and talking in public, and then you felt so superior not to admit you did it..
now that you couldn't provide any direct answers that make sense, you're playing the role of a victim, and you want to blame me for stopping.. sorry, but blame only yourself.

Why didn't you say that at the beginning? now that you removed the files and everything no one can check.. well I did check before I talked, same list, same models, they contain the md5s, and you can't suddenly in few hours do the mods (the same mods I did), you even said you will remove them, now you're saying they are not mine?
Please, do yourself a favor, and stop making it harder for yourself, you just look worse and worse..
There are more lies if someone wants to have fun investigating.. I just don't want to mention everything.

To everyone else, please don't let this stop you from helping others if you can and have the time to. I know, it's sad how this works, unfortunately.

Hi everybody.

Well, this dispute is very sad, because this thread was really helpful for the community.

I do not have much time to learn how to mod a bios right now but I would love to, maybe later.

Anyway, I would like to thank both of you : Kabyl for having found the mod fix, and having used it to fix some bios, and OriginalMacNut for having taken the time to mod the bios of many members.

See you

Kabyl,

Thanks a lot. u solved my problem. now my asrock conroe d667 bios can support wolfdale e8400 working without error. no need to downgrade to bios 1.3 anymore.

Hi,

Could you tell me which bios you used? You seem to be the only one ( I went through the 49 previous pages) to confirm that it works with this particular board (Asrock Conroe1333 d667 R1). I presume you used kabyl mod bios 1.8 for R2.0.

How does one know which version/revision his motherboard is? I looked everywhere (BIOS, box, can't find the bloody manual...).
Did you absolutely need a floppy disk to flash the Bios?

I'd love to buy a Wolfdale while there's still available, answers would help wink.gif

Thanks to Kabyl and all contributors.

Hi, Kabyl, need your help again.
You have modified Asus F8Sa and MSI PR600 for me in the past.
Both laptops work well with duo cores and Leopard 10.5.x now.
Can you modify Asus A6Jc's BIOS for me at:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/...load-19346.html ?
Because it works with Tiger 10.4.8 currently and will boot failure by Leopard 10.5.x.
Thank you very much for your excellent help to so many persons here !

P.S.
This is my second request of Asus A6Jc. I think you must be very busy in the past 3~4 months.
Anyway if you can modify it, I'll be very glad and thank you again !

Hi Kabyl - great work.

I've done my damndest to do this on my own, using both your and Tsu's method - including ensuring that block 10 table is the same size as the original, replacing the _T_1 and _T_0 till the recompiling had zero errors - even decompiled the recompiled version to check whether they matched - they did. None the less - it still bricks the MB every time (relief that there's a restore function).

So - reluctantly wink.gif - I have to ask your assistance:

Motherboard: MSI p45 Neo (model ms-7519)
CPU: Intel quad core 2.5Ghs, Q9300 (Yorkfield)
Bios Rom - AMI, version 1.6 - http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=do...3&type=bios
Problem statment - same issue as everybody else - just reboots after reaching the kernel. If I turn off ACPI pointing in bios, it gets a little further, and bombs on the mentioned frame buffer 4096 error message.

hi, Kabyl.
i met the problem "using 10485 buffer ......", and my motherboard is Biostar tpower i45. when i tried to modify the bios following david tsu's guide on #487, i found that the DSDT was a separate module. normally it 's part of "1B Single Link Arch BIOS ",but this DSDT table is independent named "10 ACPI AML".
following the guide i got a wrong modified bios, and after flashing it my pc counldn't work.

i think the bios of Biostar tpower i45 is a little strange and interesting. could u help me to modify it ?

here is the link: http://www.biostar.cn/upload/Bios/P45AA708.BSP.rar

sorry for my poor English.
thank you!

Hi all
for anyone interested, I've modded for Asus P5Q3 Deluxe BIOS version 13.06.
I've tried to flash using both Asus Update Utility (Vista x64 and x86, not XP, but should be the same...) and EZ Flash 2.

You can download it here

If you need to install Leo (i've personally used iDeneb 10.5.4) you can take a look at this thread.

Thanks for all the hints to the great Kabyl, david and all the other ones who helped out to understand the BIOS triks...

QUOTE(Kabyl @ Feb 27 2008, 08:36 AM) *
Well, I guess the title says it all, after spending a lot of time reading Documentations, Specifications, Forums.. and hunting for testers :P , I finally got tehmachacker (thank you) to test a modified BIOS, and as expected, it worked.

This is the issue that intends this mod to fix:
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=78235

Basically, what I'm doing is modifying and fixing errors in the DSDT; removing aliases for the "processor" devices, because the ACPIPlatform kext doesn't like them and treat them as other CPUs.. (it's written for Macs, and Apple doesn't use that in their Firmware's ACPI Tables, actually I don't see why we need them, well..)
I for example change this:
CODE
    Scope (_PR)
               {
                   Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {}
                   Alias (P001, CPU1)
               }

into:
CODE
    Scope (_PR)
               {
                   Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {}
               }

Sometimes I have to fix more stuff.. you should know that when you try to compile your DSDT.

So if you want to get a fixed BIOS, you can PM me post your request here, included with:
  • a direct link to the BIOS file,
  • your PC specs (CPU, Chipset and Graphics Card),
  • and a description of the issues.
Don't PM me with requests, post them in this thread.

You will find some of the modified BIOSes here.

Keep in mind that I take no responsibility for a bad flash or if anything goes wrong..

NOTE: About Dell laptops, I'm still trying to find the cause of the issues, so if anyone has any suggestions, you're welcome :) .

OriginalMACNUT
Well, guys I'm back.
Not going to let this keep me down, anyways. I spent the last two days working on these bios for everyone.
Nothing is borrowed, copied. So please feel free to check the DSDT strings if you would like.
There is over 150+ bios at the moment, I still have around 20 to 30 bios to get done, but I need a brake for a couple day from this.

Though, I'm going to this forum to work on this project.

Hi. I have a very serious problem with my Toshiba P100-257. I tried to activate my Conexant sound chip. Finally I got my sound working (speakers+headphones). This happened when I used a modded BIOS from P105-S6024 BIOS 4.00 (working on a P105-S6014). This model is practically the same as mine. But it has a fingerprint reader. But the problem is that I got 2 unknown devices in Windows and my sleep function doesn't work both in Leo and in Win. It seems that there are problems with ACPI. Can You help me to correct my BIOS to get my sleep work. Whitehorse solved this problem with Toshiba P100-253. His model is identical to mine. But it seems that he is out of this forum and he doesn't reply privat messages. He also forgot to upload his modded BIOS anywhere sad.gif

Have you tried the one off my site?

Hi OMN Im very very glad you've done work on modding BIOS of MSI. Actually I have not yet purchased the P7N SLI Platinum. Im just doing research before buying. So Im finding the p7n mobo owners on this forum who have tried and tested this. So far I've not came across anyone. Have you got any reviews about p7n ? Let me know. Thanks for your help. smile.gif

Can you get that one working for an AMD Phenmon X4 Quad Core

Well,

I'm off to school hehe smile.gif
I'm going over the ACPI tables again, thanks to your bios, sheesh hehe.
anway, there is alot of problems with this acpi table in iasl.
I can edit it, but till I find what I'm looking for on this certain acpi table, I'm not going to ask you to flash it.
Main link error are due to LN2D (and a large mount in between ) LNKA, with over 200 error when trying to compile sad.gif I'll keep searching smile.gif or does anyone have a link to how these are support to be fixed?

Hi.
Can you modify my bios
Foxconn P35A
Intel® P35 + ICH9
CPU core 2 duo E8400
GC Zogis 8600 GT 512RAM
JaS OSx86 10.5.4

link to bios ver. 6B3F1P40 http://www.foxconnchannel.com/support/down...ID=en-us0002206

My problem:
with the "Multi-processor" disabled in the BIOS loads the OS normally, and if this option is enabled the OS enter into infinite reboot loop.

Thanks!

It's done, just have to get it uploaded smile.gif

Just have some queries-

**By the way can we dual boot Vista-Leopard on this mobo using your bios ?
**This works with every p7n sli platinum?
**If something goes wrong, what happens to mobo? Any way to recover the loss (except buying new)?

Okay, I got it uploaded. I had to leave for a bit, sorry for not getting it posted right after.

**By the way can we dual boot Vista-Leopard on this mobo using your bios ? ( Should work just fine )
**This works with every p7n sli platinum? ( Depend on make and Model of board, just like any other bios. )
**If something goes wrong, what happens to mobo? Any way to recover the loss (except buying new)? ( depends on if it has a recovery setup, also you wouldn't have to buy another board. Just call the MB support and have them ship you a new bios. roughly cost $10. )

@bartm669
I've attached the .dsl file, you can have a look at it with text editor or something like that

Okay guys, this is my last post here in this forum.
Thanks,
