Hey buddy: this is strictly an "at your own risk" enterprise. If you don't want to be "pissed as hell", then I suggest you just go out and buy a real mac. It just works.

Problem is the thing worked on my amd, now I got Intel and it doesnt. Its weird to say the least.
And yes I can pe pissed as hell all I want.
Its my own fristration and it is not directed towards developers or this comunity at all.

I have an evga e175 nforce 750i motherboard.. can't utilize more than 1 cpu (core 2 quad q6600), think you can hook me up with modded bios plz?

Bought SAMSUNG SATA S223Q. Hope this works, else I give up on Leo on my comp untill some prooven solution is found.

I've tried to install 6 different patched Leopard versions in my new Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo Pi 2662 and I always get ACPI errors (and if I try to disable ACPI from BIOS the DVD doesn't boot). After trying a lot of methods of fixing the problem, I think that it's imposible to boot a DVD distro with my BIOS. Could anybody help me?

I'm very surprised because the features of the computer seem to be Leopard friendly:

I think my Motherboard is a custom version of MSI G31M but with paralel port and Firewire (like G31M3) and without graphic card integrated (comes with an nVIDIA GeForce 8600 GS). Fujitsu Siemens provides a ISO with a BIOS update (view attachment) but I don't know what should I do with that.
Any idea?

I'm starting to find this entire thread a bit ludicrous as many people funnel all their problems down to the BIOS. The fundamental problem with this solution is that everyone who subscribes to it are locking themselves down to the hacked BIOS and if anything of value gets revised for their motherboard they con't upgrade unless the BIOS is modified again.

It seems to me that a real solution to the problems mentioned in the original post would be better handled at a low level layer like netkas' EFI, leaving the BIOS out of the solution.

I concur. I think the abundance of knowledge on the subject has caused n00b mac enthusiasts to not look on their own. I on the other hand have the OS working near-perfectly (power schemes on my lappy won't work and the wireless doesnt' have a driver) but can only get it running if I use the "cpus=1" switch at bootup. This is deffinatly a bios issue, confirmed by Pere at uphuck's site. he suggested I come here for a resolution... but the lack of activity leads me to believe that Kabyl isn't modding bios' anymore.

so is there a way to extract a bios rom from a model of computer to flash on another same model of that brand? I have read thorough here, and saw the universal extractor but that appears to only extract elements from .exe files, I wan to grab the rom info off the chip, I still haven't gotten anywhere with getting a mod rom, but someone here has a earlier working rom on their machine. Thanks for any info,

I am in the same boat as kteljenkins - I have an HP Elite with the IPIBL motherboard - there is a user who has a previous bios rev from the same board that works fine - We just need to be able to pull his bios to re-flash (downgrade) ours - aaaaannnnnnyyyyy help would be great

After I install 10.5.5 I found it was the first time I got two cores. Amazing.... I have a acer5583 which had not found two cores before. Is there big difference between 9.5 kernel with the others?

The issue is that it wont start unless i use either cpus=1 or idlehalt=0. the Kalyway DVD is the only exception, but once Kalyway installs, it still wont run both cores without idlehalt=0. it freezes the boot at "IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 64:87"

Sorry, I'm always failing to patch my BIOS, so now I'm requesting to mod.

hi,
my problem is : Getting stuck at the line "using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers" while trying to boot an osx86, after install perfectly done (kalyway 10.5.1)

my config is M51Va from ASUSTeK:

The search function is giving me an error for somereason, can someone tell me if there is a working modded bios for the acer m5620? I believe it is R01-A0 but not entirely sure.

you're sure about that? The 3680 doesn't actually come with a dual core processor, I upgraded from a celeron M. And according to apple you aren't supposed to use the 10.5.5 update on integrated graphics. Which I have integrated GMA945 graphics.

i just spent all day upgrading from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 to 10.5.5, and i still cant use dual core. and because of my integrated graphics card, i cant even use OSX now. as soon as it gets past the blue screen before loading the login window, the screen turns black with a bunch of jumbled stuff on the screen and the whole bottom half is white lines. all i can see is the mouse cursor... i really need dual core working.

Hi there,
I tried to search so forgive me if a modified BIOS has been requested for: P5N32-SLI Premium

With Kalyway 10.5.2 it installs and works fine. The system profiler shows number of cpu's 1, total number of cores 0 with an 'unknown' cpu detected.

Specs are:
MB: ASUS P5N32-SLI PREMIUM
CPU: Q6600
PCI-E: NVidia 7800 GTX (256)
Maxtor 300gb SATA drive
Onboard audio
3com pci Network card.

OR is this a different problem?

Changed BSP to ROM ... MMTool 3.19Mod worked fine.. gave me info abt the ROM version
Extracted 1B to SingleLink.dat
Using WinHex and opened the file SingleLink.dat
Searched for "DSDT" .. but I have only one instance of this and hex string 57 41 4B 68 2E nowhere to be found.

Could someone plz check on this BIOS ?
