Yes, the problem is known. We're trying to fix it. For the mean time, use Google with:
CODE
site:insanelymac.com [search terms here]

The search function has been fixed, I discovered one of the web servers wasn't contacting the search server properly because of an internal ssl certificate being wrongly set up. The problem was affecting about 25% of users.

Search still does not work inside of topics. It would be very helpful if it did.

Oh yeah. The search needs a major overhaul. It never works when I input a user name parameter either.

Username Parameters work fine for me but Searching in topics is one thing we definitely need to improve on.

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Would be nice if it could work. Maybe since there's French involved it's on strike.

This really needs to be fixed. A help board without search functionality is like a Mac without Mac OS on it.

I have just one query. When searching by keyword, the results are post for the whole thread and start from the first post. Can it be modified to go to the exact page of the thread where the keyword exists?
Reading is a good thing, but wading through a 40+ page topic to find out that the result is of no importance to my particular problem is frustrating and many noob's will post instead. I googled and used the search, but still had to post. I know it is on your board somewhere.

I mean no disrespect. But, to be honest, the search function on this forum sucks, in general.
Directing users who come here for information to "Just use Google" is beyond lame. I'm not sure what board software is running here... but I've seen tons better out there... some free..
While I really appreciate the info and expertise offered here by the forum's members, alot about the site -in and of itself- annoys the crap out of me.

Ok maybe a full explanation is in order here. Now you may be shifting this towards me since I am part of Board Maintenance. I have supplied the fix to the Server Team and I am waiting for the implementation. Until then there is not much I can do except tell you that it is in the process of being fixed.

Search doesn't work at all now. It sends you to a page that says there were no search results and it doesn't matter what you searched for. It's been that way for a few days at least.

The Search has only worked for me if I choose "All Forums".
It hasn't worked when selecting other "Search Where" forums (child enabled or not) or searching within a topic.
And search on username doesn't work either.
Unless there is another way, Google site searched hasn't helped with:
Narrowing the search to a single forum
Searching a topic only - If I find something else within a topic I want to search on, you have to redo a global search.
