Parsix is based on Debian testing (Lenny) and Kanotix, arguably the best installable Live CD ever.
Parsix has the following advantages:

2)It is based on Debian testing, which means bleeding edge but also free from serious bugs.

Why is it, that Distro's are ALWAYS in "testing", "developement", "unsupported" or "developer release"??

This IS a release. Debian has 3 branches, stable, testing and unstable. Explaining everything would be quite complicated. Suffice to say that Debian testing is a lot more stable than most releases by other distros.



Not even close! This actually works and works well, and gives slightly more advanced users a lot of freedom.
Besides, it can be kept always current, at least until Debian testing isn't frozen for release.

I'm a dreamlinux user, and a debian user. I couldn't ask for more than debian in any debian-based distro.

Why not use debian?

This is Debian (I mean, it is fully compatible).

I really don't know how this is gonna be any different from debian or other debian-based distros.
That's what I don't like about distros, so many chices, but most of them turn out to be the same as the other and you just can't stop wondering, "how would it be if I tried that distro?"

If you have Debian installed and working, there is no reason to change.
But for people who must install Debian, or for people who try almost every single distro, Parsix has the following to offer:
1)A very easy and fast installer.
2)A better looking desktop.
3)Almost everything you need already installed.
4)A few extra tools. If you add the Kanotix repository, you'll have even more. Such tools are very useful.
5)A more complete sources.list. This is especially useful for newbies.

On top of everything else, it is a Live CD as well.

well in response to the original question about Gnome, it makes a hell of a lot more sense than KDE. It's the cartoony quality of the vast majority of Linux/Debian/BSD UIs that ruins everything. Ill have to try out one of those cool 3d environments...

Well, even if you are so much against GNOME, you can still use Parsix:
