I have a Pentium D 820 processor. Both cores are detected though L2 cache is shown 512kb (although it should be 1mb for each core). Does that actually affect the performance? How can I fix that?

Try newest ToH speedstep kernel (IRC channel), that did the trick for me. No performance difference though, it's just a cosmetic fix.
