it's there anyway to use your iPod as an computer? an computer with no monitor for example... so you can acess it with VNC or something like...

it's possible?
Hara Taiki
It already IS a computer. OS X is a slimmed down version of Mac OS X compiled for the ARMv6KZ cellular processor used in the iPhone and iPod touch. If you jailbreak the device, it become a really useful PDA-ish device.

im talking about the nano ipod

do you know how jailbreak?
Azurael
You can run Linux on most iPods, although only on the 1st Gen Nano.

I don't really see the point though.
shd
my ipod is the 1st gen and i've already installed linux once in it...

but the point here is install an OS in ipod, and not use his display, but with some kinda of remote desktop, like windows remote desktop or VNC...

imagine this:

plug you ipod into your computer, acess him with VNC (or other) and start, lets say, a quake 2 dedicated server on it...

did you guys get it now?
Hara Taiki
No, not possible. The ARM processor's in the Nano's are not capable of running such demanding OS tasks. Linux is about as good as it gets. If you want to slim down and recompile the OS of your choice in ARM architecture, then by all means, go for it. You wont see anyone else trying that for legal reasons...
Azurael
Well, you can SSH into an iPod which supports serial in iPod linux...

be more specific plz
