hi everyone,
i want to take apart my laptop to spraypaint it white, because mac has become my main OS and i'll be getting my truemobile 1450 in a few days.
How do you experts recommend i do it?
what kind of paint do i use?

I recommend doing it carefully.....
Sorry, I couldn't resist. But really, the last time I spraypainted computer equipment I just used some generic paint from wal-mart. It was a keyboard and the paint job held up pretty well. I did have to lightly sand the entire thing, it's the best way to ensure that your paint will stick to the plastic. Also once you've painted it go ahead and sand it with some super fine grit sandpaper.. then paint it again. Rinse lather and repeat until you're happy with your finish.
But back to the careful part.. Static is the enemy, so be careful. I would dismantle your laptop with a static bracelet to keep you grounded. I would also take pictures as you're dismantling it, for reference when you have to put it back together. Also you will need a special torque screwdriver, it looks like a star (not a cross). You should be able to pick one up at a good hardware store.
Good luck, I'd love to see finished pics as I own a DV4000 also.
