you need these commands (not shore about driver name)
rmmod iwl3945 | modprobe iwl3945 debug=0xffffffff

the driver start() now calls ieee80211_open
i think this is the right way to make it work
i'm expecting missing symbols when you build it
can someone fix this? - should be easy to do

Hello and thank you to all specialy to jalavoui for the hard work they are doing.
I can test as well but itīs possible to someone compile the driver in dmg to test because i tried several times compiling this last release with xcode but no sucess.

Thanks

Hello,
I have MINI-PCI 2200BG Wi-Fi in my ThinkPad T30.
It works well with last stable and beta drv version.
I have no problem to connect to my WEP PROTECTED Wi-Fi router. So, i press connect and it ask me for key.
I have to insert the key every reboot. No way to have auto-reconnection every boot.
But, I have one Q to ask. Some times my system is just crash. In a way, it's suddenly freeze. No cursor movement, no error massage. It just freeze. Only way to switch it off, keep OFF button for a while. I don't know is it from Wi-Fi or what. Did somebody have similar experience? It's really difficult to say what could be a problem. Just to know, if it some common issue or not.

Thank you.
FurmanSK
Hey odessamarin I just experienced the same problem with mine on a IBM T43 ThinkPad. So far the driver works pretty good. Only suggestion i would make is making an option to connect to hidden SSID's like at my university they have wireless but i can't connect to it because its hidden and the driver doesn't see it. Anyway to make this option available? And i'd be happy to help in anyway.

Sorry jalavoui forgot to include what card i have and driver i'm using.
Card is Intel Pro Wireless 2200b/g
Driver is the latest for 10.5 2200

So is there anyway to do this? I tried getting my IP and other information in WinXP then inputting it into the ethnet in network for the wireless card and turned off then on again and didn't work.

Thanks.

Hello,

Just built 702; had immediate Kernel Panic on kextload. (First time for this, I usually get 8-10 mins of running time before kp) Here's screenshots from my phone when booting with -s. Hope it helps.

Hi, I'm new to the OSx86 scene and I am having a little trouble getting my Intell 2200 BG wireless card working on my Kalyway 10.5.2 Hackintosh. Other than this and no battery meter the computer works perfectly.

I browsed this forum for a while and found the .dmg package that could be used to install the card, every time I installed the package though my OSx86 machine would not boot. It would only show the BSOD (Black Screen of Death) that asked me to restart. I believe whenever the card turns on my computer crashes and the installer was automatically turning the card on making a boot loop.

So I found manual instructions on this page using the pieces of the package. I took the ktext and put it in ktext helper and it ran the easy intall. I also put Igui and Network Selector in the applications folder. Finally I restarted and ran -f and -v.When I opened my Network settings I found that the computer had detected a new option and I created it. I did not mess with any of the settings not setting anything manually. I assume this was my wireless card but I did note that there are now two Ethernet options in the Network Settings.

Then I tried to turn on the wireless card via Network Selector. After putting in 1 the program would hang. On a restart of the program I would type 1 and it would turn on the card but then I would get the BSOD and need to restart. Performing this process again had the same effect. If I loaded up only Igui and tried to turn on the card the computer will hang and the program will crash. If I am fast enough after using Network Selector I can log into Igui and the card is on but not long enough to detect any networks.

Can anyone help me with this issue? Is there something I am missing? What should I do now?

Yeah likt It's only happened once today. I left it there for a few mins and then tried to move the mouse and it just sat there didn't respond. I dont know if it has anything to do with the drivers but just experienced it.

maybe it's in start() ?

if you have a patch post it here

We getting closer.. now I switched 2200 off within driver menu, and connect my ThinkPad to the internet by wire build-in ethernet. And live it downloading staff all the night. And guess what? No crash! It still alive. So I'm more concern about driver. Today will put my Dlink USB dangle. Maybe developers could advice some older version or something that we could try to do? What about WEP, could be a case of this freezing? It's strange, cose otherwise driver work very well, just this crash from time to time.. sad.gif

this kp check must go until you see "17" on screen
only test this once - boot with -s

if you test this faster i'll fix it

Jalavoui, I PM'ed you about perhaps getting you a 3945 card. We are so close, and if you had one, you said you could finish this very quickly. Please PM me back, because we all want to see this driver finished, you are doing such an amazing job!

Good Morning,

Here's a KP with 704. I see the counts you mention, but mine panics after 7, throws the error and then the count jumps to 26? see attached:

No immediate KP! Been running for about 7 mins with no issues. Now, when I build and run Network selector, it doesn't seem to do anything. I launch it, select 2, and it jumps back to the menu. Am I doing something wrong? Based on the logs, it's looking around, but I don't see an active "scan".

Jalavoui, where are you located? Maybe one of us could loan you a laptop for testing. And if you get this running, I hope you have a paypal acct, there are hundreds of ppl who should step up to support your efforts!

maybe i can do it today smile.gif
need inital driver system.log lines
tip:
after boot and using kextload /iwi3945.kext
goto system preferences -> network
make shure you have the en1 interface recognized - the driver don't work without this
important: don't install from iwi3945.dmg - xcode will build from svn and place iwi3945.kext on /
networkselector don't work at this time

wait...
i'll fix the xcode project and upload to svn

ok done for all iwi drivers
updated iwi2100, iwi2200 10.4/10.5 and iwi3945
in mac os x 10.5 i've add the option to build against /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk
in mac os x 10.4 i've put it to build agains current os version
i need someone to upload the .dmg for iwi2200 10.4 and 10.5

can you explain this?

as for building the 2100 and 2200 dmg's, do you just need the projects complied on a 10.5 box? Not sure I understand what you mean, but still happy to help. (And I only have the 3495 of course)

lol
i'm reading the logs

iwi3945 rel 715
in this release you need to use networkselector option for scaning. other options don't work
try it if you get the driver running stable - i think a reboot can make it stay stable
before start scanning open console to see system.log
press networkselector option for start scanning
see if it works in system.log
if it starts scanning close networkselector

one very easy thing do to in xcode
in file iwi3945.cpp
in functions start()
there's this line:
IOSleep(1000);//hack
this gives a delay to try to make the driver stable
try this values: 500, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000
see if the driver gets more stable
i can do this but i think there's no point in posting 5 releases for testing
i'll come back later to see logs/reports
thanks

ps:
on the iosleep line there's this code:
while (!iwlready((struct iwl3945_priv*)get_my_hw()->priv))
if you can make this work it's better tham use iosleep (can remove iosleep it if it works)
i can't figure out what's the bug on it
mlazy
more fun on a 2nd reboot (KP'ed while posting last time)
