I have the 3945ABG.
er I installed the driver fine.... but the card cannot be turned on, and dmesg | grep PC does not give any thing. Any ideas? and network selector does not turn it on or scan any networks.
Network Utility detects the card, but Network preferences does not

Instead of makings comments like that, maybe you need to try to be a solution to the problem. He had an unfortunate accident with his laptop and he needs another one. After all the work he has been doing from day one, you come out of your ass and say something like that? You are the kind of person that should not be helped.
I have the card to spare, because i replaced it with an airport card, but no laptop for you to test it on. If you need the card though, i can be of service........

With all respect to those trying to get this working, I've literally grown bored of waiting! And bored of "is it done yet?" posts. People, rather than nagging for WHEN the driver is gonna be finished, surely it would be easier for those who can do it to buy a £15 dell 1490 and stuff that in their laptops NOW instead.
As for those who can't/won't... well, when this driver IS finished, there won't be anyone on this forum who DOESN'T know about it

this thread is a big deal!! Until that day, my card is in retirement whilst I enjoy full Airport goodness with my new one!!
In all fairness though, the first post in this thread really should be kept up to date with the in-thread affairs since reading all these pages would make your eyes bleed.

Well said. However, some people can't replace their wireless cards. Like me, if I could just get to it, I would replace it in a heartbeat. But sadly, I would have to take apart my whole laptop to get to my wireless card.

This thread started in January of this year. It's now middle of October and it looks like the driver is still not working
for these intel wireless devices.
This makes me think that
jalavoui probably didn't have the competence to develop this driver code in the first place.
I hope not too many people have sent money to this guy.

people, stop asking to buy dell wireless cards. if u have an hp laptop, you can put it on and say: wow, i lose my money, cause you'll get error 104 - usuported network device, remove and reboot system. I got it and when i tryed to flash my bios with a moded one, what i got? a {censored}ed hp laptop bios, cause i'm not able to recover it, as nowadays laptops dont come with floppy drives and usb ones are not cheap and we need weeks of waiting to receive one in brazil. so, if you have a card with no driver, buy a usb capable one and get happy.
ps. i bouth an hp retail BCM94311MCG brodcom wireless card, and surprisely it is not in my hp laptop whitelist. (now bios is {censored}ed, so no bios, no whitelist =]).

You have a luck man - there is a fully working kext to 8400m gs

"NVInject 0.2.1" support all the Vram ,QE/CI and everything else ! I just can't set it to get an external display working (there was something lika NVCAP think ,but I don't know exactly )YET

You can find this kext in almost all the releases of Leopard (Leo4Allv2 for example)

Hey guys, I am patiently waiting for this driver just like many of you. I already have donated $20 to the effort. I was talking with someone who mentioned NDIS wrapper, a Linux utility that allows you to convert, or use, Windows' Wireless Drivers for Linux. Now, OS X is a different deal, but it has a lot in common with Unix (leopard does have a fully functional unix heart).
So I'm just curious if this process would work on getting the Intel Drivers working on Leopard? Don't go yelling, go about teaching, I'm curious if this process could work, and if not, I want to know why. Thanks!

and if we get an kext from any board that comes with osx, maybe if some with chipset intel, and we modify, like the sounds kext?
it is possible to make it functional ?

Hey there jalavoui!
I dont know if its something that i'm doing wrong but i've re-installed OS X about 4 times trying to get the drivers to work, I've used the iwi2200 and the iwi2200 svn version; however, i get the same results. I'm able to see the access points around my house (including mine). when i try to connect using NSGUI i get prompted for my wep key. After doing so i get a loading circle and then nothing happens. I've tried with the hex decimal option checked and uncheck. I've rebooted a few times and nothing.
I even noticed that after installing both versions of the driver, Network Preferences crashes (closes itself) within seconds of me trying to open it.
Any suggestions?
Will - It's been a while since you posted this, so I don't know if you resolved your issue. I have an Intel 2915abg card and used iwi2200 for my iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 install. I had the same issues you listed -- I couldn't get the command line version to work for some reason, and when I used NSGUI to connect, it would sit with a loading circle with no success after entering my WEP password. I got the idea that perhaps it wasn't resolving an IP, and so opened a Terminal. While the nsgui attempted to connect, I typed at the command line: sudo ipconfig set en1 DHCP
Almost instantaneously, NSGUI connected with an IP address. I have had this working for a day or so -- so I haven't messed with it much. I am planning on starting with a Automation script, and going from there... I have to manually open nsgui, select my network, paste in my wep key, and drop to command prompt each time I boot my laptop.
Hope that helps you or anyone else with similar issues!
Regards,
Paul

Hello there!!!
i also am looking for drivers for the 3945. The problem is i have a acer aspire 5920, i have already purchased a DELL DW1390 becuase this was confirmed as working with hackintosh, however my laptop wont boot when i swap round the cards the screen will not come on at all and the hard drive wont spin. After some research i found out that the bios must be whitelisting meaning that it wont boot with the other card for some reason.
My question is does anyone know of any cards working in hackintosh that are supported with the acer aspire 5920?
How close are we to having a 3945 driver?
And finally what is the best usb card to get? i want it to be working with airport without having to use a 3rd party app such as realtek

TNW wanted me to share with everyone some rather big news. He has been hard at work, delving into the innards of the Darwin kernel, finding strange and obscure misfeatures involving, among other things, non-aligned IOMallocContiguous() calls.
In addition to fixing the initialization problems, the card now properly starts up, initializes, receives data, and enters ieee80211_rx_irqsafe(). Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the first packet received by this driver:
CODE
A80000001B026B87000006000000000001002300000

Which looks an awful lot like an ESSID broadcast. Specifically, of the AP named "Livebox", which I'm told belongs to TNW himself.
There is much more work to do, but now the hardware is at least starting to behave.

Can you put the work on a public svn / cvs or something like this ?
This way others may be able to add to your code and the whole process will be faster i think.
And in the process we might even be able to write a howto . Maybe this way on the next piece of hardware without drivers the whole process will be easyer.
