Does the driver still get KP? If not, someone could give VNC access to j. I can't, I dont have the card either.

There are no KPs yet. I ve done a few scans and a few attempts to attach. I could not figure from the logs what networks it found and what the numbers are associated with those networks. But I randomly tried to attach to 1, 2, 3, 4 .. did not know what to expect after I tried to attach to network (option 3 in network selector). I believe someone already offered this, but I can definitely give VNC access to J.
jalavoui
to finish the driver i'll have to test code related with ieee80211_authenticate and outputpacket
this code gives kernel panics - no way to use vnc to connect to another computer

try this - fix for scan reinit

iwi4965 rel 1170

iwi3945 rel 1169

first reboot --> hangs on blue screen (I guess, the screen was blue for 5 minutes then I did a hard reset)
second time booted with -v --> no freezes

then I did a scan --> did found my wireless AP with mac adress

Sorry for the lame question, I'm new in the hole OSX86… I have dell e1505 with 3495ABG. I tried to install the driver but even after the REBOOT I haven't any new network driver and the network selector doesn't even let me the selection menu.
I'm using kalyway 10.5.2.
Can some help me and tell me what am I'm doing wrong?
10x

It's a new installion. I installed the Kalyway and than the driver? do I need to install something else first?

Hello! I tested the iwi3945 rel 1169 and it gives some result! It scans and shows up my network. After this i don't know, what should be doing.

Here is my Logfile:

Javi, i have some free time for this, so if i can help, just write it here what i have to do!

OK, iwi4965 rev 1170 logs, no KP this time, everything boots and runs fine. Kernel doesnt recognize new ethernet device, but iwi4965 starts scanning and does recognize my network, the only one in range. It will not let me connect, i dont think, i have no way of telling, This is only a small section of the logs. The whole thing is 10+ MB. It seems to be stuck in an infinite loop scanning, so the logs just repeating. Cut it down for size issues. Thanks for the great work J. Look forward to next rev.

First, logs from 4965 r1170. Second, logs i did yesterday with r1160 which show really odd activity.. i'm still seeing this sometimes, looking for info so i can work out a fix and contribute.

I'm still getting the issue with networkSelector not seeing the card, but i don't have the osx experience to properly troubleshoot it myself.

I do have some Unix/linux ability, and can code a bit.. please direct me jalavoui wink.gif
cheeseboy
so does 4965agn work yet?

short answer: no.

the devs are doing a great job. looks like it won't be too long now.
cheeseboy
how longs not too long weeks months or years?
Geniusdog
OK, i'm at the same step as before, only now the kernel is recognizing the interface. For some reason it is trying to assign it the same address (i.e. en1) as the wired adapter. How can I change it, i know that it is finding it because in my current logs it gives me the
CODE
Jun 8 20:55:06 Jesses-Hackintosh kernel[0]: check_firstup
Jun 8 20:55:06 Jesses-Hackintosh kernel[0]: goto system preferences -> networks and press apply if you keep seeing this
deal, so it is detected. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the address in 10.5.2. The wired adapter is en0, i need to set iwi4965 to en1 somehow. What do I need to do?
[rant] And btw cheeseboy, shut your mouth. If you want the driver to progress faster maybe consider HMMM I DONT KNOW, HELPING!! Seriously at least post a log, a KP pic, anything to help J out, he's been workin on this for almost 2 years and has gotten nothing from it. I mean honestly I understand wanting it to be done, I want it finished to, but I try to help. [/end rant]
cheeseboy
i didnt mean it to be offensive just don't know how long this kind of thing takes

It's honestly hard to say. Could be weeks, could be more. Your best bet is probably to lurk in this thread or help with testing.
asstastic
Tested build 1170 haven't noticed any changes over the last builds. Some interesting errors at the beginning of the log.

Hi.

iwi3945 rel 1171:

Click to view attachmentI make my wireless network unprotected, but "spaceport" didn't show me any network. I tried to type network number 1 and connect, but nothing.

UPD:
I was trying to play with wi-fi hardware switcher and descovered that driver printed founded networks in the System.log. I thought that founded networks must typing directly in spaceport. smile.gif I attached one more log. "Internet" - is my unprotected network.
