Here are my logs...

I'm not positive but system.txt and 762log.rtf may have different information inside, otherwise they're identical.

762 logs:

Boote with -x, Loaded the kext and got a decent log. Not sure what's new, but I started a scan with network selector at 20:57:35. Also hit the kill switch at 20:57:49. Any insights Jalavoui?

Doctadre: for netselector: after you start the driver, launch the app and type 2, then press enter. If you watch your logs, you should see "connect" which notes the scan firing off.

Here are two logs of mine using mlazy's 762 build.

log1: manula kextload, then start scan at "18:02:32" and switched off the card at "18:02:43"

log2: reboot, then manual kextload and scan.

Alright, i logged and started network selector. After looking at the logs, I think I may have a coupla ideas up my sleeve. May need to have mlazy or jalavoui define some of these functions I see here. its 11pm cst and im bone tired, to think I have 2 free days away from the hospital is quite settling. See yall in the morning, good luck if yall still working

Here are my logs for 762. Hope this can help.

my machine has got a 3945abg intel pro wirless card and i was wondering if any progres had been made yet and if there is now a working driver for leopard .
Neofuture
downloaded the DMG from the site, when i install all installs fine, then when i reboot locks with no logs !

any ideas what i should try (dell vostro 1700)

iwi3945 wirless switch
the idea of the switch is to turn the card on(off
this is very hard to do by software and can be the only way to turn the card on/off
what i need to know:
- you press the switch and the card goes off - ok
- now if you press it again the card is supposed to turn on and star working
if this doesn't happen them something is wrong in code and i have to fix it

deam!
ieee80211_init_scan functions are for passive scan - TNW is this your code?
iwi3945 doesn't support it
the driver is full of bad code
i'll fix it and post to svn
Doctadre
hmmm, I cant even get my card to turn off. gonna take a look now
Neofuture
dmg was 748 by the way

Are you talking about a manual switch or simply using networkSelector to turn the card on or off?
If its for networkSelector, I believe I was able to turn it off and on.

there's a bug in code related with timer functions
this is why the stations fail to work as they should
networkselector is disabled
i'd like to see this driver linux logs to check a few things - anyone?

Roal2488
I leaved the card loaded for an hour or so. I've copied the messages of the conosole into a textfile called LOG. Got a KP trying to unload the kext and on startup, but i had the chance of making some logs. Booted with -s too and got KP too.

Doctadre
What do you mean driver linux logs? Im up for helpin you out. I can set up an ubuntu partition or just run off the live cd
I cant turn off the card

the timer code is very wrong - gives kp on driver start
i'll try a fix

i need a linux log of iwl3945 - i don't see none usefull. note ipw3945 is a old driver i need iwl3945

timer functions -> don't know if work is os x 10.5
i think this is the reason for the driver don't work

iwl3945 linux log
what i need is a log like this:
http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/bugzilla...ent.cgi?id=1166
this log is older tham our mac os x version but i can see that the driver starts a scan by calling
ieee80211_sta_work
and this will depend on the timer functions...
there might be some bugs related with tx functions

iwi3945 driver status
very very unknown

how can I get you a linux log?
Wirednet
Please keep in mind that the linux driver doesn't always enable the card. Sometimes the kernel spits a "NIC is in deep sleep" error and you have to reboot (a few times) to make it work!

this is a very old driver - try iwl3945 1.2.23 wich is the same as the version we're working.
if you take a look to the linux log i post you'll understand what iwi3945.kext is expected to do

i'm trying to make timers work
i need someone to look at this code, run a few tests and change it to make it work
the driver will not work without this

look at:
setup_timer(&ifsta->timer, ieee80211_sta_timer,(unsigned long) sdata);
i think this is were all the driver magic happens

the problem:
all xxx_timer functions aren't tested and need to be fixed

there are several ways to write these code - hope someone can help

Valid: Yes
Authentic: Yes
Dependencies: Satisfied

And some logs in different stages of boot and networkSelector used: Click to view attachment
By the way ... no more system freezes, no more kernel panic
rubinho93
No more KP's or freezes, it just scans... (No KP on boot, manual kextload etc.).

In system.log it's just scanning. Nothing else.
I'll post my system.log now.

Nicely done!

EDIT: It's scanning for almost 1 hour... So I think it works now!!! The next step: select a network

My on/off switch also works. When I switch it of, it stops scanning, when I switch it back on, It starts scanning again! (only the light doesn't work, but that was a common problem with most of the cards I ment.)

Ok, I'll try that. (my system is just crashed, it automaticly installed the graphics update for some reason. I'm restoring my laptop from a time machine backup now.)
BTW, I mentioned, when I shut down my computer it continues scanning for 2 minutes or so. After it did that, it shuts down.

Testing 772

Normal boot, installed kext. Appears to be scanning.

No kp after a few mins so tried reboot. Shutdown takes a long time, looks like the card keeps scanning quite a while.

Normal reboot successful (no kp!), doesn't look like the card is scanning though?

Logs attached.
