Full Version: Pop goes the sound

Well my Hackintosh is running almost perfectly! I say almost because I've got an HP dv6000t, in which the internal speakers are working, but the headphone jack is not. So I've been using a usb sound adapter and plugging my speakers into it. Music plays great, and so do youtube videos; however, when I play DVDs or avi files, the sound is frequently popping and skipping. This has been a problem with multiple tiger and leopard installations, no matter the media player (VLC, Quicktime, Divx, etc.)

Has anybody else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

THANKS!

What you are experienceing is distortion on the 5V or 12V line of your computer.
have you tryed it under windows? if that is the case to lets just say its build badly.

or it could be a preformance problem

in my case it is definitely not a performance issue, more so just something driver based...

I had the same problem. After the 10.5.3 it started. I went to the modbin Kernel and everything seemed good. I have since gone to the Boot 132 DFE Chameleon EFI V8 install and everything seems to be running great. I originally set out to fix my clock running fast, and that solved the popping sound. Check to see if your clock is running fast, then search this forum for the solution for that. See if that fixes it.
